InvictusCobra Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 For those curious about the Konami situation and what led to it. Also, information on Kojima, MGS V: Phantom Pain and the new Silent Hill. LighteningOne 1 Quote
Soulless Watcher Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Not a fan of either of those franchises so I don't care. B) Quote
Dokken Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 Sad for Kojima, being kicked off like a kid. And sad for the Silent Hill project with Del Toro and Reedus. Quote
Nosebleed Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 RIP Kojima. Though honestly I never played any MGS game and I don't think Silent Hill should have ever spawned sequels so I can't say I care much about this. Milking franchises forever and ever just doesn't appeal to me, though it does kinda suck if internal issues are what caused this. I first came to know Kojima through Zone of the Enders which nobody in the world seems to talk about or ackowledge, but that series already ended so I have nothing to worry about. Quote
monkeysrumble Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 It still seems like nobody has any idea what's going on in Konami, though by the looks of it things seem grim. It's rather depressing to be honest. Thanks for posting the video, it was a good summary of what's happened so far. Quote
krill Posted April 27, 2015 Posted April 27, 2015 well i am a fan of DDR so this indeed does suck for me, but goes to show that bad practices and corrupt company heads at-least isn't a strictly western thing. Quote

Soulless Watcher Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 It's 40% identical to EA's strategy. BookwormOtaku 1 Quote
BookwormOtaku Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 Replace the top with Keiji Inafune, the next with Mega Man and the next with Onimusha or Breath of Fire and you've got Capcom's strategy. Quote
OriginalRen Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 To be fair, Hideo Kojima is a bitch to work with, just like the guy who made the Fable series. I am sure they kicked him off the team because he was being a douche, to which I respect Konami for. Quote

Difference is, Kojima actually makes good games and his games have been the only thing that Konami can sell besides PES. Quote

Funyarinpa Posted April 28, 2015 Posted April 28, 2015 So... should I complete MGS1 now or what? Sucks for the fans, I know the feeling Quote

Narcosis Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 You forgot about Epic and CliffyB. Wider conspiracy, or is it large companies growing tired of overambitious, douche game developers? Regardless of that, I still respect Hideo Kojima; he's one of those very few people within the game industry that really deserve the applause. Quote
