Soulless Watcher Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 I've been wondering about the speed of the Grisaia translation. I vaguely had the idea that they had hired a fan translator who had already translated a lot (or all) of it to do the work, but I could be completely misremembering that. It certainly was done very quickly after the Kickstarter completion, in stark contrast to a number of other, shorter games on their docket. I heard that he signed a non-disclosure agreement, which just means he isn't allowed to say anything about being possibly involved in the project. It wouldn't surprise me though, reading steiner was involved in the official Steins;Gate release. Although, that still took a insane amount of time to release, cause Jast. Quote

It certainly was done very quickly after the Kickstarter completion, in stark contrast to a number of other, shorter games on their docket. There was a complete fan translation of the game out before Sekai Project picked it up, and they hired the whole team that had worked on it. Since they're using the PSVita version here, they had some changes to do to the text, + they did another TLC/edit pass to polish it further. The game is insanely long so just that took some months. However, the previous fan TL was already top notch for fan translation standards, so this one should definitely be up to professional standards. For the second and third game they'll have to translate from scratch, but those games are fairly shorter than the first one so it shouldn't be that long. Quote
Fred the Barber Posted June 13, 2015 Posted June 13, 2015 So, 1.5 months after Monthly Wrap-up 1, I find myself wondering where Monthly Wrap-up 2 is. Sekai Project's twitter is active, they've been putting up new Kickstarters, and most importantly they even published some games (or at least one, I remember) since the last wrap-up. I was hoping I wouldn't have to use their twitter to keep track of what they're doing, though (and delightfully their website is buggy, so I can't even sign up for their mailing list). Quote

Rule of thumb: do minimal research yourself (at the very least, on Google) before asking questions: If you want to stay up to date with the videos, then just subscribe to the YouTube channel or something. douggle Posted June 14, 2015 Posted June 14, 2015 Have to say I've usually never been a fan of these kinds of videos, I find them a bit cringey and annoying to sit through (Nintendo Directs are the worst offender in this category because they really don't know how to give an engaging speech) and prefer to just read a well written summary instead. But just personal preferences, it's still a nice thing to do a wrap up to let your fans know what's going on, regardless of the format. I'm glad to see Starlight Vega in there, I'm really hyped for that project and if you haven't checked it out yet, you really should, the west needs more yuri! Quote

I did look around, but for whatever reason I wandered around their social media presence blindly and found nothing, rather than just searching for it. Anyway, thanks! On the topic of the video: - it's good to hear an expected rough release date for WEE Episode 02 (August). Here's to hoping they make it! - I hadn't heard about "No One But You" before, but it sure does look pretty: http://www.unwontedstudios.com/no-one-but-you/ astro 1 Quote

Fred the Barber Posted June 30, 2015 Posted June 30, 2015 Monthly wrap-up #3 was posted today: Not much of interest here, this time, at least to me. Fault Milestone 2 is looking pretty good, and reminds me that I should really make time to play Fault Milestone 1 at some point. Frankly, the biggest takeaway for me was that I wish I could be at Anime Expo to buy all the World End Economica things and get Isuna Hasekura to sign them. Quote
