Whats the status of the Rance Quest translation?

Can anyone give me any up-to-date information on the translation of the Rance Quest because I found many pieces of information and see a lot of contradiction.

If anyone has some relevant and trustworthy news about the status, please share them with me.

Aug. 4, '12 New translator working on it with overall progress 9356/110000 Lines (8.5%)

Until any project reaches about 33% it is advised to not count on it. Well even projects at 70+% tent to die or be put on infinite hold so if it is only 8.5% for a whole year, the chances of it being done anytime soon are non-existant.

If the project is alive you should hear about it one day when it reaches about 33% and then it might be worth tracking.

If you are asking as someone who wants to help with the project, revive it or if you plan on restarting the project, then I would recommend contacting them on their forums (maybe through PM) about the status.

If just from the standpoint of someone who hopes to play it one day then you will probably have to wait for a long time.

edit: if there is no update for a long time doesn't mean the project is completely dead, just look at nursery rhyme, there wasn't update for over a year but the TL is still going (changing translators and all in that time), now it is over 35%. But it will definitely take few more years to complete as well.

An anime? Half the appeal of Rance is the gameplay, this is probably one of the WORST VNs to adapt.

They made a 2 episode animation as well back in the 90s, it was pretty funny.

 

Not sure how great this new one will be if they follow too closely to rance 1's story, but I love the art style enough to be excited about it.
