  2. Yeah, I tried it with the latest version of Garbro and got the same problem as you... That's weird...
  3. Today
  4. Leticiel/ADVRUN Put the python script in the directory where Game.inf is located and run exARD.py Game.Inf to get Game.Info. Open it, look for gcode. reotyan100 is XOR key (ignore the last character) Then run exARD.py ARDScript.ARD -k reotyan100 to extract ARDScript folder containing the script files. After translated, rename the folder from ARDScript to Script, then use SNFCompiler to create a new ARDScript.ARD and Game.inf by selecting the Game.Info file.
  5. Yeah, I only want to extract it because the Steam version has both the original Japanese and the official English translation. But I guess you're right—maybe I should try the old version as another solution. By the way, I really wish I could translate more from the official translation instead of relying on fan translations. Btw Thanks for the hint, hehe. Hello, I just check it again, and surprise it support this game. I tried it. but have a error like this T T https://ibb.co/QvbQW9ZK

  7. Have you tried Garbro? The latest version added support for that title.
  8. I'm not here to disappoint you, but the steam version of Saya no Uta is made with the 'Diesel Engine' which is a really weird engine. I've tried messing with it before as well but the files just can't be extracted by normal means, you need reverse engineering in order to: extract, repack, or do anything to those files. I still don't know why they changed the engine from N2system to Diesel. But you can still try to translate the original one (yes it does not support win10 but I think you can find a solution for that) It's been a while since I tried to edit those files though. Maybe they made a tool for this. And sorry for not being very helpful.
  9. If you wouldn't mind, please explain this to me like I'm an idiot. After a couple hours of searches I have found a bunch of source code for things related to the principle of unzlibing things without finding a program that actually does it, and everything related to XOR compression has been related to cracking passwords rather than simply unxoring the file. Something like: 1.rename file to original.xxx 2.Download program 1 3.Use program 1 to unxor/unzlib 4.Download program 2 5.Use program 2 to unxor/zlib would be most helpful, and get this project started.
  10. Hello everyone, I need the scripts in this file to translation for my project, anyone can help me extract the script of Saya no Uta (steam version) ? I tried some tool npk extract but not working. That's glad if anyone can help me extract it, thank you so much Here the link of NPK file

  12. Hmm...When i save it it will covert back to that mess. No matter in what format.
  13. Happy April Everyone, I have a bunch of cool new LoFi music tracks to share on my Action 3 page. They are: WILD WEST COAST RACING 9_LoFi FUNKY RUNNIN’_LoFi WILD WEST COAST RACING 8_LoFi TRASH CAN WARRIORS_LoFi WILD WEST COAST RACING 7_LoFi DESERT HEIST_LoFi STARTING LINE_LoFi RED CONVERTIBLE_LoFi https://soundimage.org/action-3/ As always, they are 100% free to use with attribution. Enjoy, stay safe and keep being creative!
  14. You're welcome! Sorry but I don't think it can do multiple files at once...
  15. It works! Thanks! Is there a way to do multiple ones at once? There are more than 200!
  16. Have you tried scn editir GUI? It's a great tool for editing raw .scn files imo. Here: https://github.com/hiroshiyuri/scn-editor-gui/releases/tag/v1.0.0
  17. I see that you now decided to comment at the end of the each season, and good to see now you really caught up to the very recent anime as well. For Winter 2025, I only watch four series fully, Ameku Takao, Bang Dream Ave Mujica, From Bureaucrat to Villainess, IdolPC, so let me to comment on those four anime here. IdolPC - Obviously this is 2025 Precure with it currently have 8 episodes out of 49 episodes, so there's still some potential story to be unfolded besides the simple premise of the Precure (Uta and friends) using the power of idol to defeat the darkness (Chokkiri). Admittedly the premise is quite simple after previous Precure has more complex theme, although sometimes it's fine to have simple premise. It also notable that Toei bring back the physical fight after they decided to go with chase battle in WPC, and it has idol theme with each Precure will perform the concert before purify the monster (It help that Toei bring Aikatsu anime writer as the main writer). I don't know if I'll watch this fully or not, so I'll give a try to do so this time seeing it's been a while since I watch Precure full series directly with the last time I do so was in GPPC. Bang Dream Ave Mujica - As expected this series tell the story about the one who behind the drama in MyGO, Sakiko, with she also bring the new drama into her own band, Ave Mujica, before realized the disastrous result of her action and make amend of it, starting with find the closure with her first band that she abandoned. Ave Mujica members has some darker setting compared to the previous Bang Dream, with one of the cast has DID. With the staff need a season and half to resolve the drama from MyGO, the story is obviously still not over and so the staff announce they'll make a new season that will tell the story of both band (MyGO and Ave Mujica) with the anime will probably resolve the story of all band members. Ameku Takao - I saw the poster where the doctor of House TV series turned into this anime, and out of curiosity I checked it. Turned out it's detective series with the character design was worked by Noizi Ito (Also worked on Haruhi and Flyable Heart character design), albeit with a heavy dose of modern medical knowledge. For the story, its about the titular Ameku Takao who is a director of Department of Investigative Pathology in a general hospital. Said department job is to find out what's really wrong with the patient in case the regular doctor can't find out the cause of disease, although what's really wrong can be expanded all the way to murder cases. Obviously like most of the detective series, the anime is episodic with we'll see on how Takao will do her detective job. From Bureaucrat to Villainess - I did read the manga before watch the anime, and find it quite nice. For the story, it's about the 52 years old bureaucrat Kenzaburo was involved in an accident after saving a boy, and somehow he find himself in a body of shoujo manga villainess from the otome game that his daughter like to play, Grace. Obviously like any other villainess work, Grace did her best to not stand out in order to give more chance to the real otome game MC, Anna, only to be backfired because Anna become smitten to Grace anyway, and of course the heroes follow suit as well after they find out on how competent Grace is. Note that I didn't say Kenzanburo is dead after the accident, because his body was still in coma with his family played through the game in order to have the family head returned. The anime ended on the play at the school festival, with it hint the involvement of Grace's mother in the soul switch situation although the manga still not reveal on how she involved yet. That's all for what I can comment in regard of Winter 2025 anime here.
  18. I extracted the scn files from the game but it looks like a mess. I first thought that there is a another script just for dialogue and this one is use just to display scenes but it is the only snc file in the data.xp3 file. Translator ++ import: the file

  20. The script files are XOR-ed with key "reotyan100" and compressed with zlib.
  21. Since most people have never heard of Muv-Luv Substance, it is a trilogy of doujin games released in 2005 and 2006. https://vndb.org/v32467 They can still be downloaded for free from the official website. https://tnonizyou.ojaru.jp/game/maburabu-gamehontaipage.html I've had this in the back of my mind as something to rebuild from the ground up as a learning experience for a little while. 4K-ize the CG with Gigapixel-chan, present all 3 as a singular unified title, translate as I build it so it supports English and Japanese, stuff like that. Make it the best it can be. Maybe T no Nijou-senpai will even be amused that someone on the other side of the world cares about his silly little doujin games 20 years later. The problem is that the games were built in ADVRUN. For some reason it was popular with Japanese doujin developers for a couple years before promptly disappearing forever. If I'm going to be nice about it...ADVRUN pukes buffalo shizz up my fucking asshole. I have had no luck whatsoever making heads or tails on extracting the script/images/music from the archive format this engine uses. I've been through documentation in the SDK and it didn't really help. I'd like to think doing something this simple is in the documentation somewhere and I just missed it. It's free and the last version of the engine is still online. https://buin2gou.com/advrun/ I've asked in a couple places and the responses I got boil down to "those games suck lol don't bother lmao" so I'm hoping for something a little more productive. Anything that gets me moving in the right direction is appreciated.
  22. Welcome to this week VNTS Review. For the title, because we have Nekonyan released Koichoco, I decided to make the parody of its English title (Love, Election, and Chocolate) by changing 'Election' into 'Invasion' from Rance 03 event (Helman invasion to Leazas) and 'Chocolate' into 'Marshmallow' with it being Mashiro's (Tayutama main heroine) favorite food, so we have 'Love, Invasion, and Marshmallow' as the title. For this week, the three releases alone (Koichoco, Rance 03, and Tayutama) make it being an active one, and of course we also have some other updates with the most notable one is Mahou Shoujo release. Overall, this week is quite an interesting one, and let's see what I can write in regard of it. Nekonyan did release Koichoco as planned, and honestly speaking to me it's redundant release seeing we have nine years old translation patch which was released in November 2015. That said, it still has nice production value, and Nekonyan version is much easier to install compared to the old version so at least you didn't need to go through the hassle to play the new version of Koichoco. For the premise, it's the same no matter which version, with the MC Yuki need to join a very dramatic student council election as the candidate in order to save his unproductive club which about to face financial reform. Forgot to mention the new version also remove the necessity to play Chisato's route first, although I don't know if that feature will be able to improve her not quite good reputation among the one who play Koichoco in 2016. Go get Koichoco from Steam if you want to play the VN with the new translation or maybe did decide to wait for Nekonyan version, and have fun. Speaking of 2016, I do remember there's a project to translate Mahou Shoujo back then, although that project was going nowhere. Nevertheless, a new translator worked on it, and now we have the game available in English (The post in regard of the release). For the premise, it's about the normal high school girl Chiyoko who thrown into the battle against the monster after approached by a strange talking cat, and then she gather more allies in order to increase the manpower. While this seems like the usual premise of magical girl work, the outfit is more like the bodysuit instead of usual magical girl uniform with the aesthetic is leaned toward sci-fi, and the tone is quite heavy. It has SRPG gameplay and some people who played it praise the game, so you can try the game if you're curious about it. Mangagamer released Rance 03, and it has the most distinctive feature with it the only Rance game that have voices with Alicesoft decided to omit that feature in X because X has many characters which would be very costly to dub all of the characters. Back to 03, in there we have Helman army led by the prince Patton invade Leazas. Seeing no choice, the rules of Leazas, Princess Lia, ask help from a certain adventurer that she knew, Rance. Of course, Rance asked for his reward immediately, which should be obvious revolving of having sex with the beautiful women. Rance 3 is the game where Alicesoft start to write the story in the bigger scale compared to the previous games that have smaller scale, and the remake is no different with Alicesoft going all out to polish the remake as much as possible with they also overhaul the gameplay. Go get 03 if you want to play Rance 3 in better graphic or maybe want to play another Rance game, and have fun. We have Cherry Kiss announced yet another nukige (Swipe Right for Sugar Mama Sensei), and they'll release it on April 4th later. For fan translation updates, we have Shizuku is now fully translated, the original Tsui no Sora was past three quarter (76%) edited, and QC work for Ushieta is 73.8% done. We also have Cartagra Remake Switch version announced with it will have English language support, although the one who will release it is Visual Arts instead of Shiravune and obviously won't have sex scenes. For now, I can only wonder if Shiravune will also localized the PC version later. Lastly, we have Tayutama released with it didn't have the sex scenes. However, someone (Who may or may not be the translation staff) make the 18+ patch for Tayutama and released it just today (Four days after the full game release), with it remind me of Baldr Sky 18+ patch release. For the story, it's about Yuuri who is a son of a priest about to perform a ritual in an ancient monument before it accidentally destroyed by his friend. Turned out the monument is the seal containing the spiritual creatures, Tayutai, thus the monument's destruction causing Tayutai to roam in the human world. Then, Yuuri saw a girl with her turned out to be a deity who manage Tayutai. Following that, Yuuri give the name to the new girl as Mashiro, and afterward Yuuri's life start to be more lively with Mashiro. While it's good now we have the 18+ patch, some may prefer to play Tayutama without the sex scenes, so feel free to get the VN if you interested (Whether with 18+ patch or not) and have fun. That's all for what I can write in regard of this week, and see you next week.
  23. Hello, sorry, I had no idea You have posted! If You want to help in testing, please, if You see something which looks like a bug, send a printscreen - including stats visible, it helps finf cause of the bug. If You'g have an empty screen, please write was the scene directly before it. Of course, if You have any other suggestion, please, share them. In the meantime, I am still improving the game. Some of the things I added recently: – extended endgame, especially for the Influence based characters – you conquered all kingdoms? Now secure your eternal rule by proving your divinity. Or, if you play as Destroyer of Live, carry out a world-scale euthanasia plan, – new subplot – Rise of the Witchlands. Remember that fallen ancient civilization which ruins You could pillage? That is not dead which can eternal lie, - extended economy - now You can destroy/help economy of the Free People in new and more meaningfull ways, - extended Chosen One plot - now sometimes You can corrupt him. Also - there is new review, in Choice Beat zine. You can read it below, or in the zine (page 30): https://www.flipsnack.com/choicebeat/choicebeat-issue-13/full-view.html
  24. tldr;; I'd recommend this to most visual novel readers looking for a bit of a different take on the moege format, with more comedy and very light to no drama upfront slowly transitioning into more drama and very little to no comedy at the end. Overall it's a very good but flawed read that may not be for everyone. Read on for details. Love, Elections, & Chocolate (Koichoco) does a lot right, but it also does some things wrong. It has some likeable characters, good music, nice production values, and a well done localization that reads well to an English native. It's also a bit of a messy visual novel, which not everyone will like. Koichoco has, for better or worse, a central heroine - Chisato. Chisato is a classic tsundere whose tsun rating is pretty darn high, and she is extra jealous. This bleeds into routes that aren't her own, so you can count on her making her presence known in other heroine's routes to a decent amount. I personally didn't find this to be too bad, but I could see it upsetting some readers who are more used to the other heroines "backing off" after you get on someone's route. Past her you have some straightforward characters, the onee-san, the teasing girl, the mysterious silent one, and the overly nice hardworking type. None of them are too unexpected and they each have their positives and negatives, but I don't really consider any of them standouts in any sense. The story is where this visual novel both excels and is a bit disappointing. First, it excels because it's willing to tackle some issues not discussed often in moege - At the same point the stories end quickly enough that it can feel like they are not adequately explored, or truly answered at all. I both liked and hated that decision, as it shows how messy real life is that we don't always get clear cut answers, and not everything is wrapped up cleanly. However, this is a story for enjoyment, and many readers - myself included - appreciate some definitive endings. This is the largest reason why I'm a bit torn on Koichoco. What is there is very good, but I can't help but wish for what was clearly thought about but isn't there. Last few things: it's been ported to Unity using the same UI as Aokana, which has caused some changes but I think it is a net positive, especially given the skip function is now extremely quick. It has a good number of CGs, sprite variations, and an internal upscaler to 4k - although assets are 1080p I believe. Music is good, and there are 6 ending songs, the 5 heroine's voice actors all sing their own which I always appreciate being done by sprite. There's a total of 15 H-scenes present and in my opinion they are average for the genre, but maybe a bit better than Aokana's. If you're here solely for the "plot" then there's probably better options out there. Koichoco ultimately ends up as a good read to me, but one that could have been much more with either a bit of extra expanding on some of these story bits.
  25. Just notice that I didn't say my congratulatory message on the release three years ago, so here's my belated congratulation on Snow and thanks for the hard work of translating it.
  26. This is a condensed version of the full article which can be found on my Main Blog Here. Pixel Hunting Creating a sense of immersion within a fictional world has always been one of the greatest strengths of visual novels so it is only natural they would end up paired with a style of gameplay about interacting with the details of that world in the form of Adventure Games. These are titles which involve clicking on elements of the environment in order to solve puzzles or meet certain objectives and they use this space to fill in the details of people’s lives to contrast with whatever threat hangs over them. As such Adventure Games can make use of the character centric nature of visual novels to help sell the connection between the characters and the world they inhabit. It can leverage this to create mysteries and puzzles which span both halves to improve their connection to each other. There is also an aspect of role-play found in this hybrid whereby the player gets to act out the actions of the protagonist and fully put themselves in the character’s position. Let’s repeatedly click on an object and find out exactly how such a harmonious merger of gameplay elements can work so well together. Environmental Interaction In its focus on the world around the player, Adventure Games present it as tactile place filled with the objects of function and mundanity that define our lives. The way every detail of these items is presented and their role in progression helps them take on an intimacy by being a physical window into this familiar yet alien place. This is in many ways a prefect partner for visual novels due to the way they concentrate on different aspects of intimacy so, while the Adventure Game half can handle the world, the visual novel half can deal with the characters. Through this combination a player can be brought into the experience and provided reasons to emotionally invest themselves in the outcome of the journey they are being guided down. They are shown a constant stream of empathetic ideas and people from each half of the game which offers a variety of perspectives on their lives so the player is on the edge of their seats waiting to see what happens to them next. What prevents this barrage of elements from becoming emotionally draining is the constant forward momentum provided by new areas to explore and new drama to witness that keeps the player on a ride of fresh experiences so they invest just enough for the desired effect without wearing themselves out. The backbone of this harmony is the way a visual novel element can easily and quickly be overlaid on top of Adventure Game sections in order to smoothly link the narrative to the items being examined which reinforces the connection between the two. Last Window: The Secret of Cape Wast demonstrates how this harmony of intimacy can be used to sell a location as lived in with history etched into every wall. The entire game takes place in the titular Cape West, a set of apartments containing various tenants including our protagonist. As such the player will naturally become familiar with the spaces within the apartments and the game uses its Adventure Game half to have the player interact with everyday objects in order to solve puzzles. This draws parallels between the location and the player's own life making it easy to come to understand it as somewhere inhabited by grounded people. The visual novel half of Last Window furthers this link through humanising the people who live within the world built by the Adventure Game sections. Over the course of the investigation the player will interact with the residents and come to know this snapshot of their lives while also getting a sense of how they relate to the protagonist who many have as their neighbour. The closeness afforded by the way the visual novel sections frames the character interactions is immensely personal and supported this sense of Cape West as a living place where people the player knows spend their time. Narrative As Role-play Perhaps the most interesting interaction present in this type of hybrid is the way the narrative and the mechanics frame each other. Due to how Adventure Games promote extensive examination of the environment, it can create a sense of role-playing as the protagonist given that these interactions are often a direct reflection of the character's actions within the story. This is a favoured element of visual novel integration for mystery or detective titles where engaging with clues and crime scenes can be made a key part of both styles of play. Leaning into this role-play provides a cohesion to the experience such as with Danganronpa and its investigation sections. These aspects ask the player to engage with the Adventure Game mechanics through a narrative context which focuses their mind into the same space as the protagonist. The act of picking through the crime scene and interviewing suspects takes on a new emotional resonance and draws the player into the experience through blurring the line between the game and reality with role-play. Without the visual novels to give a personal connection to the events surrounding the mechanics, this role-play would be a cold affair where the player would not be invested in the stakes of investigation and instead merely see it as a simple puzzle to be solved. Puzzles On Two Levels Presenting the game on two levels offers an opportunity to engage the player’s mind from different angles and help maintain interest in the long term. To achieve this effect the two halves of the title lean into a puzzle style element to give the player something to chew on. The visual novel and Adventure Game aspects do this through the differing time-frames they operate under in order to direct the overall experience. Given the narrative centric nature of the visual novel, the puzzle tends to take the form of a greater structural reveal or long term mystery as with titles like YU-NO. Here the game presents a mystery and then feeds the player a steady stream of clues hidden within the story to help them construct theories on the truth. This means they are constantly reevaluating what they thought they knew so there is always excitement when a new fact is shown to them. YU-NO utilises this method by encouraging an exploration of its wide narrative structure, time travel ideas and the way each of the routes drops new hints as to what is going on overall and in previous and future routes. This lends it a feeling of interconnectedness which its Adventure Game elements can rely on to form the backbone of the long term engagement. The area a visual novel aspect can fall short is in the moment to moment sense of forward momentum and it is here the Adventure Game half can flex its muscles. If there is one thing that Adventure Games are good at it is offering lots of small victories as the player finds the right item or place to interact with in order to progress. This simple loop provides just enough motivation to continue to the next small dose of progression that it can work to keep people moving forward. Take the Somnium sections in AI: The Somnium Files, these are a constant parade of small rewards where even the wrong choice for an item or place still gives some amusement for the player such as in the form a joke. This helps alleviate the feeling of tension provided by the time limit and support the long term mysteries of the visual novel half of the game. Conclusion In many ways the Adventure Game and the visual novel come from the same end of the video game spectrum with a focus on a similar mechanical tone through differing angles. They have complimentary elements of intimacy which they hold as important to their presentation, environmental and characters, which work well together to sell a sense of place and this world as something close to the player’s own experiences. Puzzles also play a large role in keeping people invested with the two halves offering complimentary short and long term mysteries and engagement to keep a sense of forward mementum. Alongside all these elements there is a strong undertone of role-play in the way the player can act out the actions of the characters both through actions as well as the narrative which surrounds them. Adventure Games are worth considering if you are making a visual novel, or vice versa, due to this exceptional compatibility and the potential it holds for interesting and moving titles to be made.
  27.
