There's removing H-scenes and there's removing any kind of hint of romance, kiss scenes, sexual humor, and basically everything a VN could offer you, along with broken english. They used the latter with Kono Oozora.6 points

Have you played thier translation of if my heart had wings? They did much more than just take out h-scenes. They got rid of every dirty joke and all the kissing scenes. They didnt just get rid of the h-scenes, they got rid of all the romance. Not too mention the translation was so poorly edited it was pretty much unreadable. Thank god some awesome people on this site decided to make a patch to fix it,4 points

50 translated VNs you should read before you die
Pantsuhelm reacted to Kaguya for a topic
This list won't feature the VNs in order of "how good they are". Rating them would be way too much of a clusterfuck to me. The VNs are not in their respective order. Meaning number 1 is not the best, and so on. 1_CHAOS; HEAD 2_Cross Channel 3_G-Senjou no Maou 4_Fate/Stay Night 5_Forest This Visual Novel is the easiest visual novel translated to get a bad ending without using a walkthrough- which just adds to the fun of it. It makes a massive amount of references to common literature, which makes it even better. 6_Katahane It may seem like an ordinary moege- the atmosphere is light, the story is full of cuteness, which you can note by the character design and soundtrack. It gets really good in the middle, and you'll be dying to know what happens in the end. A game with multiple perspectives, it's definitely one of the most enjoyable Visual Novels I've ever read. 7 Majikoi 8_Little Busters! 9_Tsukihime "You shouldn't tell lies that you can't even fool yourself with" 10_Swan Song A post apocalyptic Visual Novel. 11_Symphonic Rain It may seem like your ordinary moege. Trust me, it's not. 12_Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo (and sequel) 13_Sekien no Inganock Steampunk. An atmosphere full of mysteries and references that will make your head blow up. 14_Steins; Gate A visual novel that deals extensively with time travel and it's consequences. 15_Utawarerumono 16_Fault: Milestone (1 & 2) 17_Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni 18_Kara no Shoujo 19_Umineko no Naku Koro ni 20_Planetarian 21_Ever 17 Another top 10. 22_Remember11 It lacks in the ending, but otherwise the story of this VN has enough to easily become one of my all-time favorites. 23_Zanmataisei Demonbane 24_Rewrite "Could it possibly be rewritten, this fate of hers?" Another one that enters the top 10. 25_Narcissu 26_Grisaia no Kajitsu 27_Saya no Uta Only if you enjoy dark and messed up settings. 28_Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni 29_Eien no Aselia 30_Rose Guns Days (1 & 2) There are small sections of gameplay on this one, but you can skip them by pressing the space bar, so this still qualifies. 31_Sengoku Rance I feel obliged to comment on this VN before suggesting it to anyone. It's an Alicesoft title, which speaks a lot for itself... If you don't know how it's going to be like, well.. Kind of tough to describe. Lots of sex, including comedy rape. Alicesoft tends to make the whole story a comedy until right near the end, where things actually do get serious. It's worth checking out, if you don't mind Rance's personality. 32_Phenomeno Want a short VN that can captivate you for their whole duration? Here is it. Visual novel adapted from the youth horror novel written by Hajime Ninomae and illustrated by yoshitoshi ABe. 33_Ef- A Fairy Tale of the Two 34_Dysfunctional Systems Another one great for those who want short Visual Novels. 35_Daibanchou Another Alicesoft title. While Rouga is not near Rance's level when it comes to pissing off people, alicesoft's style is something which often doesn't please people. 36_Yume Miru Kusuri The endings pack quite a punch. 37_Kikokugai- The Cyber Slayer 38_Eden 39_Hoshizora no Memoria 40_Katawa Shoujo Yep, it's somewhat overrated. Still, the fact that it is substantially easier for those who are starting to play visual novels to read should not be discarded, and overall, the story was good. 41_World End Economica 42_YU-NO 43_Shikkoku no Sharnoth Yep, there is a minigame on this one. If you download a save data you can skip the minigame, though. So it still qualifies. Another VN that enters my top 10. 44_Muv Luv Alternative The first Muv Luv didn't have enough to enter this list. You should still read it, though~ MLA is definitely awesome. 45_Dangan Ronpa 46_Comyu - Kuroi Ryuu to Yasashii Oukoku 47_Hanachirasu 48_Ayakashibito 49_I/O 50_Deardrops1 point -

Ah balls, It kind of annoys me that I ended up giving my heroine the same first name as one of your character's without realizing it lol I'll likely change it since having anything the same to another's work is a pet peeve of mine. If I already know about or read the story. I really do like the job you guys are doing. Thus far You certaintly no how to promote1 point -

Unlimited Chat Works - Random Talk
Helvetica Standard reacted to Ouraibaa Hjyuraa for a topic
There's a lot of holes in that approach. Heaven's Feel fundamentally needs the other routes in order to work, because it doesn't solve a lot of the plot points (Which the previous routes did), so to people who haven't read the VN, the route would make no sense, and tons of characters would get killed off with little to no screen time. DEEN didn't manage to properly adapt the VN either, so that doesn't really count. Besides, the majority of HF is really just cooking. So. Many. Cooking scenes.1 point -

Have you made a thread on the lemma-soft board about this VN? It's a community of visual novel creators. There's a forum called 'work in progress' where you let people know information concerning upcoming visual novels. The art looks very pretty, but I'm usually more concerned with the writing. I can't find any examples of the writing in the game, and that makes me a little sad. There's plenty of pretty visual novels being made, but very few with good writing. Good luck.1 point -
I really like the goal you've made to not recycle the art (at least as much as possible). Although I'm not a huge fan of Otome I wish you good luck on the kickstarter, the overview was definitely interesting and really made me want to try it out despite being a guy and not a big fan of Otome. Your stretch goals are also really appealing, particularly the voice acting. I hope you get the funding you're seeking (and hopefully more).1 point

WARNING: RANT AND SPOILERS INCOMING! I didn't like SAO at all. The character developments and plot were horribly done, which is disappointing due to it having so much potential to be a great anime. Firstly lets talk about the characters. Kirito is just a wish fulfillment character and nothing more. He is overpowered for no reason at all and apparently is so bad-ass that every girl he meets for the first time falls in love with him ( not to mention that he have to save their ass every single time before they fall in love with him ). Asuna was introduced as a mysterious strong female lead in the beginning and showed great promise but turns out to be your generic tsundere. Her romance with Kirito was so poorly written that I literally face palmed. The antagonists lacked any kind of motivation at all. Why did Kayaba trap all the players in the game and implemented a death mechanism? Because he was bored?! Kuradeel was just plain stupid. The side characters were all quite similar in a sense. They all get one or two episodes each ( which served nothing for the plot) , and then gets thrown away and forgotten until the last episode where they get some screen time. Enough about that, on to the plot. The most obvious flaw: the pacing for the story was terrible. They condensed two whole years of time in 12 episodes. That would have been fine if they spread it out evenly, but no. In episode 1, every player was level 1. One episode later, they were LEVEL 46. And then what did they do with they extra time after the time skip? Fill the gap with filler episodes. What the hell?! Also, the writing was so poor that the author needed to CONSTANTLY pull a deus ex machina. Whenever Kirito is in a pinch, he suddenly becomes jesus and defies logic to save the day. All in all, the only good things I can point out about SAO were the music and animation. Oh man, I'm gonna get so much hate for this.1 point

#3 Tasogare Otome x Amnesia This Anime made me cry like a baby, I love it so much. True, its start as an easy romance, comedy, MOE later story gets very serious, dramatic and so full of emotions. #2 Mirai Nikki Nothing can stand in the way of their love. #1 Sword Art Online This anime Brings in me an emotion that nothing else can, it can make me cry from sadness in one episode and then from happening in the next one.1 point

Your Top 3 Romance Anime
SieghartXx reacted to Nosebleed for a topic
Oh god.. uhh.. what do i do.. too many romane anime watched, only 3 spots available.. I'll have to go with: 3 Koi Kaze It's no secret here that I like imoutos. Koi Kaze however took the incest theme seriously and brought an actual realistic incestuous story that you could possibly see happening between a brother and a sister. When 2 people really need each other, what do blood relations mean? This was a great story in my eyes and I actually felt like cheering for their love, there was no moe, the atmosphere was gloomy, there were just emotions laid bare. 2 Kimi ni Todoke I'm a sucker for these cute love stories. This story is just absolutely beautiful, I loved it not just for the main couple, but for the side characters as well. I even ended up crying in some stances, not just for the moments between Sawako and Kazehaya but Sawako's friends as well. It's so simple, there aren't many elements involved, it's love. Amazing Shoujo anime. 1 Elfen Lied Regardless of what anyone says I think one of Elfen Lied's main focuses was Lucy's personality and how it was shaped over the years. She was virtually alone, she was bullied, she ended up killing because no one liked her, except for this one boy Kohta who managed to make her open up to him and he was sort of her salvation. Of course because of a misunderstanding things turn out the way they are. However later on her feelings for him are what can keep her in control from killing. Even though things aren't as happy in the manga i still feel like this love they had was such a vital element. And how the story made me feel pity and cry for Lucy and all the stuff that's happened to her, seeing someone give her love was heartwarming. Elfen Lied still stands as the anime that gave me the most feels until this date. Honorable mentions go to: Keep in mind i have almost 150 romance anime watched so this was VERY hard to put together. That is all~1 point -
