  1. This list won't feature the VNs in order of "how good they are". Rating them would be way too much of a clusterfuck to me. The VNs are not in their respective order. Meaning number 1 is not the best, and so on. 1_CHAOS; HEAD 2_Cross Channel 3_G-Senjou no Maou 4_Fate/Stay Night 5_Forest This Visual Novel is the easiest visual novel translated to get a bad ending without using a walkthrough- which just adds to the fun of it. It makes a massive amount of references to common literature, which makes it even better. 6_Katahane It may seem like an ordinary moege- the atmosphere is light, the story is full of cuteness, which you can note by the character design and soundtrack. It gets really good in the middle, and you'll be dying to know what happens in the end. A game with multiple perspectives, it's definitely one of the most enjoyable Visual Novels I've ever read. 7 Majikoi 8_Little Busters! 9_Tsukihime "You shouldn't tell lies that you can't even fool yourself with" 10_Swan Song A post apocalyptic Visual Novel. 11_Symphonic Rain It may seem like your ordinary moege. Trust me, it's not. 12_Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo (and sequel) 13_Sekien no Inganock Steampunk. An atmosphere full of mysteries and references that will make your head blow up. 14_Steins; Gate A visual novel that deals extensively with time travel and it's consequences. 15_Utawarerumono 16_Fault: Milestone (1 & 2) 17_Higurashi no Naku Koro Ni 18_Kara no Shoujo 19_Umineko no Naku Koro ni 20_Planetarian 21_Ever 17 Another top 10. 22_Remember11 It lacks in the ending, but otherwise the story of this VN has enough to easily become one of my all-time favorites. 23_Zanmataisei Demonbane 24_Rewrite "Could it possibly be rewritten, this fate of hers?" Another one that enters the top 10. 25_Narcissu 26_Grisaia no Kajitsu 27_Saya no Uta Only if you enjoy dark and messed up settings. 28_Higanbana no Saku Yoru ni 29_Eien no Aselia 30_Rose Guns Days (1 & 2) There are small sections of gameplay on this one, but you can skip them by pressing the space bar, so this still qualifies. 31_Sengoku Rance I feel obliged to comment on this VN before suggesting it to anyone. It's an Alicesoft title, which speaks a lot for itself... If you don't know how it's going to be like, well.. Kind of tough to describe. Lots of sex, including comedy rape. Alicesoft tends to make the whole story a comedy until right near the end, where things actually do get serious. It's worth checking out, if you don't mind Rance's personality. 32_Phenomeno Want a short VN that can captivate you for their whole duration? Here is it. Visual novel adapted from the youth horror novel written by Hajime Ninomae and illustrated by yoshitoshi ABe. 33_Ef- A Fairy Tale of the Two 34_Dysfunctional Systems Another one great for those who want short Visual Novels. 35_Daibanchou Another Alicesoft title. While Rouga is not near Rance's level when it comes to pissing off people, alicesoft's style is something which often doesn't please people. 36_Yume Miru Kusuri The endings pack quite a punch. 37_Kikokugai- The Cyber Slayer 38_Eden 39_Hoshizora no Memoria 40_Katawa Shoujo Yep, it's somewhat overrated. Still, the fact that it is substantially easier for those who are starting to play visual novels to read should not be discarded, and overall, the story was good. 41_World End Economica 42_YU-NO 43_Shikkoku no Sharnoth Yep, there is a minigame on this one. If you download a save data you can skip the minigame, though. So it still qualifies. Another VN that enters my top 10. 44_Muv Luv Alternative The first Muv Luv didn't have enough to enter this list. You should still read it, though~ MLA is definitely awesome. 45_Dangan Ronpa 46_Comyu - Kuroi Ryuu to Yasashii Oukoku 47_Hanachirasu 48_Ayakashibito 49_I/O 50_Deardrops

    Hello Everyone

My screen name is Kou, I've known about Fuwanovel for awhile now, but I recently made an account and entered the magical world of Fuwanovel forums. I've loved anime and manga for about 2 years now, but only started getting into visual novels a few months ago. I love videos games of all sorts, but I love Yuri even more. I love all of you here, but I love Yuri a little bit more. I don't have the best writing skills, so expect this to be short. So let me just say this,

  3. I usually follow these two rules when making my team, hope it helps. 1st Rule: Matching Attributes [1] Extra 10% point increase is awesome [2] The only time you ignore this rule is if the point difference is large (eg. SR vs N) and/or 2nd Rule applies. 2nd Rule: What are their skills? [1] Skills make a ton of difference. I cannot emphasise that enough. [2] It's very important for score ranking in particular. [3] Generally go for skills that trigger on combos, as opposed to time (Higher difficulty = More combos) -> Not an issue when you start using Rs and above, but only ignore the combo>time rule if and only if the 1st Rule: [2] applies. [Note] Combo based skills require perfects to trigger, i.e. You must be able to (nearly) perfect full combo a song consistently to gain the point advantage. -> If you aren't confident, raw points mostly is a better choice, considering Attribute Bonus. Consistency is a must! This allows you to decide if you should replace skill based cards with raw points card instead. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Using your cards as example: I put a Cool Kotori (3010pt) in my Pure team over a Pure Hanayo (3315pt). And let's say: - Kotori's skill is: % chance 200pt increase every xx combo - Hanayo's skill is : % chance to heal 2 stamina every xx seconds At first, it looks like I've committed blasphemy, with -305 less total points. However, Kotori's skill can easily make up the difference. If I went with Hanayo, I'll receive 10% matching attribute bonus, but that's all I'll be getting. Stack up those 200pts trigger from Kotori and she'll easily award a greater return compared to Hanayo. A good way to illustrate this is by comparing your high scores with your current score whenever you full combo. I can FC a song and still be 5k behind my high score, all because my skills didn't trigger as often. This alone should really emphasize just how OP skills can help you. (And 5k extra points makes a lot of difference in event song ranking) PS: This is also why I absolutely hate stamina heal skills, especially on SR/UR. Such a waste ~ (Which is why my Cool team has no Pure SRs) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So regarding your question: [For both Pure & Cool Team] - Use Kotori unless Hanayo's skill is similar/better than Kotori's skill (refer to [3] for 2nd Rule) (I assume that Pure Hanayo card has a heal skill, like most Pure cards do) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Don't worry too much on formulas for now. Just remember: - Strongest card in the centre - Matching attributes everywhere else - If you have cards of different attributes, place them in spots with least recurring notes - Anything else, refer to the two rules I talked about No one mentioned skills so I kinda felt the need to emphasise their importance. Hope this was helpful to everyone.

  4. Private Wars by A-Rise This makes me think it'd be nice if the A-Rise members also had a couple cards

  5. My only problem with Michiru is that she has her own route(no havent played it,i dont want to) Comic relief characters dont need routes!

  6. If you are looking for something portable and have a PSP or Vita, I suggest Growlanser IV (the port/remake of the ps1 game). It is very high quality, from a series by Atlus (makers of Persona and the rest of the SMT series).

  7. Right - I like Makina as well, but I don't love her for the same reasons. She's like looking into a mirror. I recently passed her route option and skipped it. I have other characters in mind. As for the MC, he feels like an empty vessel for me. Yuuji and Kenichi are an awfully lot similar, except Kenichi had a lot more vulnerabilities and weakness' apparent right off. I haven't played a whole lot of this genre to be honest but I wonder if this is a typical character trope.

  8. I think it depends on everyone's preferences. I would say nobody of the 5 are a abd character. I just in the middle of the Game (in Sachi's route, played Makina and Michuru before) and so i can't make a final statement. Makina for me is a ways more shallow character as Michuru. It is not that i dislike her, but for me she is only entertaining and has not much depth. Michiru in other ways was from the start more interesting, you (or I) could see from the beginning that she is not who she seems to be. If you doesn't see her that way, i can understand that she is somehow annoying, but that depends on you . So for me Michuru (and her Route) are much more fulfilling than Makina. But thats only my opinion, so feel free to correct me . PS: I complaint over Yuuji a lot, but in Sachi's Route i recognize him as a human being and feel a little sympathy.

  11. I've noticed nobody's mentioned Uncharted yet... The entire game x 3 is my favorite moment. Can't decide, but what I remember most was the helicopter chase + falling building scene in Uncharted 2 and the burning mansion scene in Uncharted 3. hehe, I used 'scene' because Uncharted is a bloody movie as well and don't you deny it.

  12. Ha! Yeah, I remember Grisaia making me feel bad for not choosing a previously played route, which was bad because I played them in the order their forks showed up in the common route. Which means that by the time I got to Yumiko's route I had to knowingly leave all the other girls to their depressing fates. In retrospect I should have done them in reverse order to avoid that. A nice break from that problem was the difference between Hanako's and Lily's routes in Katawa Shoujo. I played Hanako's first, and when I got to Lily's it was quite gratifying to see that Hanako turns out just fine without you.

  13. Did 10, cause why the hell not? 10. Persona 3 9. Skullgirls 8. Dragons Crown 7. Hatsune Miku: Project Diva F 6. Far Cry 3 5. GTAIV 4. Persona 4 3. Fallout 3 2. Diablo 2 1. Hotline Miami I liked Persona 4. Persona 2 was my first Persona though. I just gravitated more towards Persona 4 because of the mystery aspects and the really awesome story. I was young when I played it and still kind of figuring out what I wanted in life. So It was cool seeing that same thing kind of happen with the people in P4; I could relate on some level.

  18. 1. Dragon Force- Sega Saturn 2. Xenogears - PS1 3. Chrono Trigger (multiple systems) 4. Suikoden II- PS1 5. Suikoden V- PS2 6. Ar Tonelico I and II (PS2) 7. Grandia II (PS2 and Dreamcast) 8. Skies of Arcadia (Gamecube and Dreamcast) 9. SMT: Digital Devil Saga (PS2) 10. Growlanser III (PS2) What can I say? The PS3 generation mostly sucked for my favorite genres and it shows. I turned to PC gaming and VNs precisely because of the lack of truly obsession-worthy games on consoles, at least for me.

Since no one mentioned this, "It's so big and I can't believe this was inside me" You know that line is mentioned when there is a oral sex scene and after the heroine lost her virginity.

What if the protagonist actually responded to the "You can't, stop!" during sex and then the girl was like "Oh...I didn't expect you to actually stop..." and then he lost interest and their relationship spiraled downward at an alarming rate.

  25. "There's no part of you that's dirty". I have read this line too many damn times. Sometimes I think they are just copying from each other and just adding in h-scenes to sell the game. Wait a minute...

They also have multiple orgasms in a short span of time which is physically impossible due to the human body's phisiology. The creatures in eroge which we often refer to as male protagonists have a portal to a different dimension in their genitals that allows for unlimited storage of fluids. They also deny negative feedback in their brains which allows for multiple orgasms. They are not human.
