Also, you say that people shouldn't criticize translators at all, but then you go ahead and do that yourself (while utterly missing the point to boot). Double standards? Also, you say that adding a honorific somehow made the line worse (disregarding corrected translation), but for some reason you weren't complaining that MoeNovel was using honorifics as well, only inconsistently. Double standards, again? Could you please stop contradicting yourself already? When the original is as bad as IMHHW, such editing would be nothing but a huge waste of time and resources. It's like applying makeup to a rotting corpse - sure it looks better, but it's still dead. And kinda stinks. A lot. Solid TLC bordering on re-translation is the only approach that isn't futile. Probably.

Huh, I never posted this. I FC'd Love Novels 2 days ago Because I was close to ranking up, I didn't clear the song (turned off WiFi and data), but there's a SS of the FC in song, it was 2nd try. My first one I got a phone call during and only missed the notes after unpausing, so that would have been an FC, but w/e Good luck for everyone else! The top 3 non-11*s were too hard when I first tried them before I got better at EX so I can't speak for them, but you guys might remember my Anemone Heart experience... I agree with the top 5 though I'd put Soldier Game at more like 11.3, 11.4, I think Kokuhaku is harder because of the speed of the triplets is crazy when trying to keep a rhythm.

After a long day at work the only way to feel better is NicoMaki pictures. I've barely had any time to play SIF properly I don't think I'm going to run for top 1k in this one. Not sure yet. Luckily I don't have work next week so who knows.

For one, people may not know Japanese, but they do know english, and most people who read regularly outside of VN's can easily see when something reads terribly and doesn't flow. If a piece of writing doesn't read well, then it's just as much a cause for a complaint as straight TL-errors, imo. It's one of the things that bother me the most about this fanbase, they accept every single translation like it's the holy grail, even if the translator will outright say they don't know much japanese. They don't care about it's readability or it's accuracy, despite people claiming they do. They only care about its existence. Nobody is willing to call any translator out on their bullshit because they feel unqualified to criticize something because everyone else will ruthlessly defend it's simple existence over it's content. People who don't learn Japanese shouldn't be scrutinized or looked down upon and be given garbage just because they don't learn Japanese and be told to 'deal with it.' That's absurd.

I had played WoW from Burning Crusade to mid-Mists of Pandaria as a hardcore raider, but I stopped playing because the encounters just stopped being interesting, even after doing every encounter from different perspectives (tank, healer, hunter, caster dps, melee dps). Right now however I'm playing Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn because quite frankly, it's better in my opinion. Crafting actually takes time when doing high-level items and it requires some careful consideration as to how you approach your crafts. Gathering as well is much more than FIND NODE, PUNCH NODE, GAIN STUFF. When it comes to actual combat content, the encounters that have been current content have been pleasantly challenging and have taken a long time to learn the fights as a hardcore raider (as competing players will NOT release their findings until much later). Fights have also been completely merciless towards under-performance or handling mechanics incorrectly, 9/10 times causing the group to die. If you want an example of EVIL mechanics from it though, I'd go back to 2.0 Twintania which was labelled as the most difficult MMO encounter ever made, as it had a large amount of instant-death mechanics, a large amount of situational awareness required, and the gear in that period was not particularly good for this encounter in the hardcore days. The mechanic in question is Twisters. Twintania would start a cast called "Twister" and at the end of the cast 4 random players will have an invisible landmine placed on their location at the time the cast ended; if the player stepped on the landmine (now called twister for consistency) it instantly killed them and knocked back all nearby players very far (there's a wall surrounding the arena that if you touch it, you instantly die as well). Now here's the kicker, you don't know if you've been targeted by it and if you go too far away from your own twister, it detonates, causing you and anyone else nearby to get knocked back, most likely into the death wall. I love almost all of the encounters (some are just too easy), and I continue to play it as a hardcore raider to this day.

Reading in Japanese is like getting your pizza from a New York pizzeria. Reading a translation by a qualified individual is like getting it from Domino's. Reading a translation from your typical Translation Team is like getting a Red Baron frozen pizza. Reading a translation with Atlas/VNR is like digging up a disc-shaped clod of dirt and eating that.

They really are milking that game hard, huh? As expected from Moenovel. First a crippled mobile app, now a Steam release... if we can't play this VN on a microwave by this time next year, I will be genuinely shocked.
