@Kosaki - Well, certain people were worried the task was too tough so I promised to help out if things were not entertaining (I.E. things weren't fun.) So I've been keeping an eye on things. If things had gotten TOO bad I also promised I'd help with the writing but you shouldn't be having a problem with the word count now that Zodai is around. You just have to feed him information. The following is my interpretation and will need to be clarified with Tay. While you are constrained by historical events, I think you can have fun with the facts. Maybe Fuwanovel is a town - nah, boring. Maybe a magical academy - done to death. What about a kingdom? The Majikoi TL group was not a TL group at all, but a group of like-minded mages formed to study the environmental effects of constant demonic portals summoned within close proximity of the town. The casting down into G&C could be an exile for crimes fabricated by a villain. Tay could be an evil arch-wizard, or a benign king manipulated by evil advisors. I've interpreted the challenge to be recording the events of history, but loosely enough to have fun with. Ourai and Tiag would still be having hot passionate sex though. Describing their loving caresses could easily eat up a few hundred valuable words. Entire paragraphs even...

You are Eclipsed, you can ask everything here and anywhere ... It isn't bad but It's also not extraordinary in any part of it. So there is not much impressions you will really remember. If you know what i mean ... Also the fantasy stuff there somehow confused me and the "cast" of the following games (Sakura Yoshino). Most say that DaCapo 2 is much better than the first one, maybe I should give it a try and report to you after that.

Understand, chuunige tend to have a lot of twisted relationships (though Propeller prefers relationships that are twisted on the surface and mostly normal under). Kei's path in Dies Irae is rofl-worthy for how twisted their relationship is, for instance... but once you've tasted Dies Irae, there is no going back. Also, the Sakuya/brother relationship in Kajiri Kamui Kagura is fairly...psychopathic. Koisuru Doll to Omoi no Kiseki's main heroine path is seriously screwed up at the end, lol. Jingai Makyou, all paths have their own screwy stuff to them. However, I particularly like Kaze no Ushiro ni Ayumu Mono's malice-free statement that she will eat the protagonist once he is satisfied with life. Satsukoi... for obvious reasons, the two mermaid paths, lol. Yurikago yori Tenshi Made, the Tae and Ritia paths (nature of angels in this world is seriously screwy). Eiri's path from Hikoukigumo no Mukougawa (it has a wonderful ending, but the actual formation of the relationship is seriously abnormal). Gun Knight Girl (the protagonist is annoying because he is a pacifist in the traditional sense, but the loli and true paths are what you want). Midori no Umi (not going to spoil it, but most of the paths are worthy of consideration for you) Mugen Renkan (to be honest, I don't really want to recommend this openly, but the story is as twisted, horrifying, and corrupt as you could want) Gore Screaming Show (use the save file to just play the final heroine's path, lol) Ojou-sama wa Gokigen Naname (I recommend this mostly because of the seriously screwy relationships between the protagonist, the main heroine, and the main heroine's 'aunt') Reminiscence Aki's route. Tojita Sekai no Tori Colony (umm... generally speaking this game is hilarious, but what happens toward the ending reveals some really screwed-up stuff, so I can recommend this hesitantly) Tsukiakari Lunch (I love the bad endings in this VN) Unmei Yohou wo Oshirase Shimasu (all the paths have their moments, but the little sister's and blonde loli's path are the most messed up... well them and the true heroine's path) End Sleep (the loli path) Secret Game Code:Revise (prequel to Killer Queen, true ending on latest version shows how certain characters ended up in their situations) Baldr Skydive (I like the interdependence with Rain) Draculius True Route (mmm... I mostly like this for the weird way the 'family' comes together... not even one 'normal' relationship in the bunch, though it isn't that dark, relationship-wise).

Adding to this for any future peeps, the Fuwa version of Ever17 should contain both the normal EXE and the 8.1 EXE. So if you're using Windows 8 or 8.1, just use the ever17PC_Win8.1.exe I spent the longest time ever trying to get Ever17 to work during my noob days cuz of not noticing this.

posted my thoughts on clephas' thread on that game. it's pretty unique but takes some patience to read. in regards to your post, the protagonist is devoid of certain human emotions, you'll see how that makes things more interesting. mei's route may be what you're looking for

I probably have more posts here than anyone else. Hell, you see my post counter? That minus, what, 30, is what I had from this thread alone before it got moved to the old Games and Chatter. And it got moved into Games and Chatter a loooooong time ago. After Phersu (Who by and large abandoned this thread for huge periods of time), I'm the oldest member who still somewhat keeps up with it. Hell, I'm the one who came up with the new name.

Yeah, I finished it and loved it, some routes more than others of course. In each route there is a lot of new content and for almost each possible outcome of the story is an ending. If you read an ending and think "oh I would be curious how it went if this and this really happened" then theres probably an ending for that too. The reason I brought Gekkou no Carnevale up here is because the central theme is the protagonist caring a lot about the main heroine for <spoiler> reasons and everybody keeps asking "why do you care about her because she is <spoiler> it makes no sense, why you like her?" Urobuchi wrote Kikokugai before Saya no Uta, I looked into it before and left it until I read Saya no Uta and became curious about Kikokugai too. I think one way or another you might find what you're looking for in Kikokugai.

That's what I did 3 days ago, then I marathoned the whole thing I think RWBY shines with its characters, the universe it's set in, the story and of course the soundtrack, I ended up just putting the 3D behind me because the rest was more than interesting to make it all worth it. You kind of stop caring when you're used to it too, at least I did. Also in S2 the 3D gets slightly better (at least the textures)

Gekkou no Carnevale maybe? It has antique doll heroines and besides the romance it has an interesting story. I see you also haven't read Kikokugai, you should surely try it then. It's romantic but bittersweet, but it's quite short. Same writer as Saya no Uta too. No others come to mind right now..

If you are looking for romance focused VNs, as seen in your examples, I suggest Symphonic Rain for a medium length and Ef A Fairy Tale of the Two for a long length. Kira kira is also ok if you want some music stuff. Da Capo and Da Capo 2 is on the ok-ish side but I won't place it before the three mentioned. If I have to pick only one, Symphonic Rain of course. The only downside is the resolution (640 x 480) of the VN. If you want something that deals on society and stuff, you can play Sharin no Kuni, Himawari no Shoujo. Considering the ratings you have to G-senjou, I don't think this is the one you want but I'll put it anyway since I think it's pretty good.

Blerghghgh! I was in my one of my day dream modes today. Thinking I was alone in front of the bathroom mirror, I started talking to myself like I was a smooth talking, lady killer to some unsuspecting female. After imagining her responding favorably to me, I chuckled to myself loudly in triumphant success. Then someone in the toilet stall started coughing as if letting me know they're there. Have you played BSD or Muramasa? Can we not generalize the qualities of certain VN aspects by production origin when they are so diverse in nature? Some VNs are aimed for simplicity, others don't have choices, some are set in casual school settings, where serious decisions aren't always applicable, the greatest decision I've made in my 18 years is probably where to attend college, other than that, most of them are what to eat, where to go, who to hang out with, on a daily basis. Why would it be more appealing to sacrifice character consistency for reader engagement? The common trade-off, If we'll let the readers make major or many decisions for the character, the extent to which the author can define and develop the character is limited to ensure that either decision is plausible. Continuing from that, is reader involvement always necessary? What's wrong with kinetic novels, or novels, plays, movies? I simply hate threads that generalize very diverse subsets, the other day, I saw a thread that asked whether openings are "good" or "bad", seriously? Depending on how well it's implemented, results can vary widely. As for choices, I'll hold the same argument, we can look at specific cases and how well choices are implemented in a particular novel, given its setting, plot, characters, and how well they fit as a whole, etc.

This is my first post to this topic, and since it concerns video games, i'll contribute myself. I've seen many, many wonderful games, but if i had to speak about my favorites one, i have a short list. In no specific order : -Command & conquer : Tiberian sun. The sequel for one of the first RTS, created by westwood "RIP", the best command & conquer and one of the most satisfying RTS ever made, a good story with two factions struggling in a desperate world, worth the play even if you aren't fan of this genre. -Halo CE; The first game i've received with my old xbox, and even if don't play that much now in consoles, i still like this game, this game is like a journey...a great journey. -Fallout 2. One of my all-time favourite RPG, the story is good but this game has far more things to deliver than just a main story, the secondary quests are A-WE-SO-ME, you have a lot of possibilities to do in the game, you can also play like Mahatma Ghandi and still finish the game if you want. -Spec Ops : The Line. A generic TPS? another game about war? always americans who save the world? you play a hero? forget everything you know about shooters, and welcome to the hell of war, the shooter part is decent and the brutality of the kills is cool, but the story is well developped, and filled with plot twists, do you believe that war is a game? play Spec Ops :The Line and uncover the psychology of a Delta Force member and his team, and don't forget to enjoy your visit of Dubaï. -Half Minute Hero : SMNCUB and Half minute hero : the second coming. Bored of neverending rpgs? Of grinding for 5 hours in order to aquire an iron stick? then try this : save the world...in 30 seconds. This RPGs is a big 16-bits parody of RPGs and is more like a runing game, you have to stuff yourself, do some quests, grinding and finally beating the evil lord...in 30 seconds, but don't worry, you'll be granted a wishful help..from a money-loving time goddess, fun and enjoyable as hell. -Steins;Gate. Do i need to say something? So that's all folks, i'm sorry if my post is too long, since it's my first post in this topic, but video games are a passion for me and i want to spread my love of this medium.
