  1. Confession: You know what, I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I didn't anticipate ever having any one visit my room ever again. It's one of those things I don't want to be caught with EVER (I'd rather someone catch me hiding a pocket pussy) but I'd be proud to take pictures of and share on Fuwa.

  3. Hello everyone You did not hear it wrong. Surely many of you know that currently the group WakarimashitaTL is translating Walkure Romanze and is now rather close to dead. Finally I could get time off the world and get myself typing here. As of now, I have lost contact of all my staff and will do a revival recruitment. I need: -someone that could help me maintain our site -editors -quality checkers I apologize if I was not able to budge at all this whole period. A lot of life drama is tossing me around and the Nation calls me for service (i hope it finally ends or at the very least ease). At least I could get my feet here right now. . . So if you are able to help me out, or willing to join me in putting this back to action and get this project done with for others coming out, please do PM me or comment on this thread. My most sincerest apologies and Much thanks <3

  5. Confession: I'm back to falling for the girl who is married at my work. Like most guys, I have this habit of looking over at the girl I like constantly at work. It's been hot lately and for the first time, she showed off her bare legs and feet at work and it got me worked up at how nice they were. I haven't been able to take my eyes of her for awhile. Lately I've been coming back down to earth and keeping my eyes to myself. I realize how easy it is for people to know you're looking at them even when they don't look back. Because it seems when I'm not looking at her anymore, she's looking at me all day. From the corner of my eyes it's pretty easy to notice. She's probably also wondering why I'm not looking at her anymore. Yesterday, I ended up walking her to her car for the first time somehow. She waited for me at the door and held it open for me as I was leaving. What seemingly seemed like two days of ignoring her, we talked and laughed to the parking lot as if nothing happened before.

  9. Review - Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth 1 (PS Vita, Pc) Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 cover art If you’ve been a fan of Japanese role playing games in the last 5 years chances are you’ve heard of the Hyperdimension Neptunia series. To date there is a trilogy of games on PS3, a manga series, an anime series and another manga series based on the anime. It also has 3 spin off games, 3 remakes the first two of which are already out in the West, and more games currently in development. Needless to say the franchise has become pretty popular. Re;Birth 1 overhauls a lot of problems with the original Hyperdimension Neptunia. For one it uses an enhanced battle system from Hyperdimension Neptunia: Victory. The story sequences in the original game used 3D models whereas in Re;birth they have been completely redone in 2D animation. The story itself focuses around the fantasy land of GameIndustri. A place divided into 4 kingdoms ruled by goddesses who gain there powers from share energy a sort of metaphysical equivalent to the democratic process. The Moe goddess Neptune loses her memory and so the bulk of the plot centers on exposition. Tonally the game is very light, the series is about meta humor, breaking the 4th wall a lot and of course being kawaii, and yes there is plenty of fan service that should go without saying. There are a lot of references to otaku culture in general in this game even which includes discussions of ‘2d-husbandos’. Since I started this review the game has since been ported to PC. However the move to PC doesn’t have any graphical advantages except higher resolutions .Which Given that this game was designed for the limitations of the Vita this shows, whilst the dialogue sections look great no matter what you’re playing on; The low resolution textures of the environments are going to look pretty rough on PC. Hyperdimension Neptunia - 3D models cutscene(left) Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth1 - 2D animated cutscene (right) Where the visuals shined at least on the Vita was the character models they were nicely detailed and the animations for special attacks are the high point even if they did cause the game to did cause a few dropped frames. First off this game does feature dual audio so you hardcore RPG fans aren’t going to have a problem with the voice acting. I’d wager the English dub is of a high enough quality to warrant using. Even as someone who doesn’t consider himself an elitist I must concede that my jimmies get pretty rustled if I don’t have the option switch to Japanese. The advantage of the original Japanese is that Neptune’s character sounds far more believable as Moe whereas the English voice actress sounds much older. Also the soundtrack is flat out incredible, all the main characters and locations have their own theme. One of the most used tracks called 100 dollars is so damn addictive that I’m not kidding when I say I’ve spent hours listening to it when not even playing the game. The soundtrack manages to encapsulate the high technology meets fantasy vibe of the game, and I’d be hard put to try and find any fault with it. Rebirth 1 has completely overhauled Hyperdimension Neptunia’s battle system making the movement more fluid. The game using an active turn based battle system, it’s actually more or less identical to Fairy Fencer F which I previously reviewed. There is one serious gripe I have with the game and that is one of its core mechanics that is the EXE drive does not become available until you are over 10 or so hours into the story by which point you would have done some serious grinding since the game is mostly focused around this. The EXE drive is a gauge that fills every time you get a hit on an enemy the more hits you combo the faster it fills. Once the gauge is filled you can use some very powerful one hit attacks. The problem is that the EXE gauge is on screen being filled for at least 10 hours before it’s unlocked for use. Now with the EXE drive you may be thinking big deal who cares? Well put it this way battles in this game are very freaking repetitive. You combo your standard moves, you break the enemies guard then maybe you finish them off with more powerful special attack linked to your MP; All very standard fare. If you want to get fancy during harder battles you can use buffs, and de-buffs but it’s impossible to claim there is much variety during the long hours of grinding you’ll need to do in order to beat the end level boss and progress to the next hilarious story cut scene, EXE drive adds that much needed variety. Hyperdimension Neptunia Re;Birth gameplay screenshot Outside battle you can take on fetch quests for more money which you can spend on buying better weapons and buffs for your characters. There is a decent amount of customizability here I was able to more than double some of my party’s HP using the more expensive items bought in shops, and of course give them some kawaii accessories because why not? You can also change your individual characters move sets allowing basic attacks to inflict elemental damage, or vary the total damage done and effect radius of a move-set. It’s a great little system and a lot of fun to use, it helps to give your party some much needed customizability. The last feature worth mentioning is ‘Disk Dev’. Which allows you to change data in dungeons which in turn can modify enemy types, enemy levels, and items found in dungeons. You will probably find yourself earlier on in the game more than later where it begins to feel more like window-dressing. There are plenty more little systems I could talk about in Hyperdimension Neptunia that would bog this review down with some serious technical jargon. So instead I’ll just wrap it up here. Re;Birth brings a much needed update to the battle system and facelift to the tremendously ugly original game and makes for a decent starting point for newcomers to the series. Dodd, R. (2015). 10. http://www.polygon.com/2015/3/4/8147871/danganronpa-3-development-early-stages Well, it was to be expected, given the franchise selling like the CoD of visual novels, but I still feel a metric fuckton of hype because this is my second favorite franchise after Zero Escape. Now give me ZE3 Spike Chunsoft. But this will be just fine to tide me over until then.

  12. Inaba Meguru Meguru is the 'lively and cheerful, puppy-like kouhai' of the story. She is also the most 'fashionable' of the heroines, and the one who is perhaps the most like a 'normal girl' as far as this type of VN goes. The fact that Yuzusoft managed to make her character work is a mark of how high quality their stories are. I will say that the ichaicha in this one is a lot more tedious than it was in Nene's story, though. A lot of it is that both Meguru and Shuuji are really dense about their own feelings, and they are really slow to progress once they do get together. The drama in this story is about evenly split between Shuuji's and Meguru's issues, with Meguru's main issue resolved fairly early in the path and the protagonists' issues resolved slowly over the course of the path as a whole. While this is generally nice and the ending is decent... the fact that so much of the story is endless ichaicha kind of made me fall asleep. Nonetheless, I like Meguru, and her tachie is probably the most well-used besides Nene, who was the main heroine. Look forward to Togakushi Touko in the next entry!

  15. Yeah, the biggest tip is, if you feel you are completely out matched, you can close the app if you are still waiting in the lobby and be refunded your LP. Don't so it when the song starts, you won't be refunded. Also, bots all have ____ Student. Otherwise, just have fun!

  17. I dislike this series (first game was mediocre at best, second was below average... And average isn't particularly high when it comes to VNs), but I do think it's good that they're announcing a new one, if the series is popular (no idea about how sales for the first two games went).

Still sad he only dies a miserable death in one route of fate/stay night. Now onto Isekai no seikishi to wash away the slight depression i got from the ending offate zero.

  28. Medley Festival is an event that started in JP I think it was the 2nd event of December. Basically, it starts like a score match, where from the event menu you pick a difficulty. After you choose a difficulty, it asks you how many songs you want to play, 1-3. Then the game picks 3 songs from the pool available, all of the same attribute. From there, you choose your team, and special boosts you buy with gold for the song, from supreme perfect locks (5 that stay until you use them, and protect you from bads and goods), boosted EXP, boosted chance of better rewards, more score per tap, etc. That's where the Medley starts where you play all the songs given to you in a row with a ~5sec break inbetween where it switches songs. You get event points based on how many songs you played, your combo, and the rank you got. Also, during breaks, a friend or academic student appears and gives you a random boost, maybe the SPL, or an extra reward at the end.

  30. REVIEW from the happy ending perspective: If My Heart Had Wings (with the adult patch) Summary: Thumbs up from the happy ending perspective. While this VN is not perfect, as a whole it is very well done - excellent in many cases. Overall I was very happy with the plots, art work, music, voice acting, and how the romance was handled. The first thing I want to mention is this VN is long. I mean really, really long. For most people it will take days or possibly weeks to get through all the story lines. I tend to marathon these things and it took me 3-4 days of straight playing. When I was done I was regretful - I didn't want to say goodbye to the characters and wanted to keep reading their story. The VN is about the protagonist Aoi, and a group of his (mostly female) friends who learn of someone else's dream and work to make it come true. In the process the dream becomes their own. The dream is to build a glider and fly it through a very rare cloud formation called Morning Glory. It only occurs once every couple of decades and is hard to predict. Romance of course occurs in the course of this but the rest of the plot is just as important as the romance aspects. There is an aspect to the way the story was written that will either be highly appealing or a major turn off to a lot readers. It spends a lot of time talking about how gliders are constructed and flown. Personally I enjoyed it and learned a lot. The instructional parts can be quickly clicked through for the people that find it in the way of the story telling - reading the instructional bits are not important to the story. For me however it added flavor and helped to join in with the characters love of flying and constructing the glider. It made me feel more like a part of the story. While I really did love this VN there were a number of things that could be improved upon. One of larger criticisms of this VN is it seems the Moe Novel team steadily lost emotional investment as the project progressed. It felt as if there was a wonderful blueprint laid out but the quality control for following that blue print steadily slid with each succeeding route. It just seemed there was less and less polish and care given for each successive route. The English translation needs improvement. While the vast bulk of the translation reads well, there were a significant number of typos. Also there were places where I noticed the translation didn't match what the characters were saying. And I don't speak Japanese. The first cue to me was when I would hear someone's name in the audio but it wouldn't be there in the text. This started me paying closer attention and I also noticed a lot of issues with honorifics. The translation team decided not to use them in the translation. Most people who read a lot of VNs or anime will be aware of how important honorifics are to Japanese language. The translation team in my opinion did not handle it well and it had an impact on the story telling. For example, not using an honorific normally denotes an extremely close relationship with someone. While I don't want this review to become an honorific lesson it is a huge difference when someone refers to someone as sensei, sempai, kun, chan, or simply drops the honorific altogether. And when the characters dialogue is actually about noticing what honorific is used - it can get very confusing when the honorifics weren't included in the translation text. The order the routes are taken matters a little in this VN. I unknowingly did it a bit out of order and wished I hadn't. There are 5 routes that can be taken, some of which need to be unlocked. I would suggest the following: Kotori, Ageha, Amane, Asa, Yoru. With that being said if I had it to do over again - I would probably not have followed Asa and especially not Yoru's route. It is commonly held that Amane is the true route. I will talk more about all of that in the spoilery part of the review. I do want to say though that each of the different routes changes the actual story and that while Amane is the only one that answers a lot of the questions, Ageha was my favorite. I wish the true route was a combination of Kotori, Ageha's and Amane - I will talk more about that in the spoiler section. Before getting to the spoiler part there are 2 things that should be mentioned. Installing the adult patch can be difficult because of some changes that were made in Windows 8. Fuwa has some tech support threads that talk about dealing with it. Second, there is supposedly an effort underway to redo the translation. I have not seen an anticipated release date though. Also I have not seen any recent posts mentioning status so I am not sure if the project is still active. ********************** This review has gotten lengthy so I am going to tie it up here. I would like to say that I enjoyed this VN a lot and have no reservations recommending it. With that being said I would have liked to have been made king for a day and done a rewrite of Amane's route so that it contained a number of elements from Kotori and Ageha's routes. That would have felt more true to me and made for an even better story over all. note: As always, if you would like to see more reviews like this please post a note or give this post a like.

  34. I'm on episode 11 of Sukitte Ii na yo. Nice little romance show, but nothing special. I liked how the male lead isn't some aloof jerkface. That's appreciated. I'm also caught up on Yowapeda. The first 15 episodes were pretty boring in my opinion and introduced and focused on a pretty shitty, very briefly appearing antagonist. This season got waaay more exciting once it started the mountain course of the 3rd day, more so than any single event from the first season, but I'd say I'm enjoying Grand Road far less than I did the other.

  39. I finished OreGairu now. I was torn how I should rate it, 7 or 8. In the end I decided I'll give it a 7. But I really enjoyed watching the show and really looking forward to the second season. But It would be unfair towards the other "8-anime's" on my list so I gave it a 7. The best girl here is really hard to tell for me because nobody of them is really outstanding but I also did not dislike any of them. Since I've a liking for weird characters I go with Yukino.
