    Fuwanovel Confessions

No man ever threw away life while it was worth keeping. -David Hume (Essays on Suicide and the Immortality of the Soul)

  2. I can't speak for others, but for myself I think it's psychological - despite being in my 30's, my general attitude is that of someone in their early 20's. I guess I never "grew up" (whatever that is). I mean, I' work for a lviing, worry about what I eat, and plan for my retirement - and yet I still love playing video games, reading VNs/watching anime. Things that a lot of "general society" consider immature. Screw them I say. But I'm getting offtopic, lol... I guess I can identify best when it's young adults (highschoolish level, or just beyond) because that's when a lot of my social development occurred. Not to say it ever stopped - but there's a certain lack of reality in that age range, you don't yet think about the future or worry about serious stuff as you do when older. That and older women are such a hassle 8 out of 10 times they are far too uptight to be enjoyable company, a bane for someone as immature as myself, heh. Kinda rambled, but thats my thoughts on it.

  5. Um... no? I will agree the Miller Test standards are vague. Prosecutors typically don't prosecute cases they don't think they can win, so all we see are instances of what fails the test (or *might* fail the test), not what passes. Some think that any non-nukige would pass the Miller Test by virtue of artistic value. The problem is that police don't need a court conviction to search your residence and uncover materials which are more likely to be deemed obscene, including Internet doujinshi. Anyone claiming to know the exact boundaries of what is and isn't obscene is ignorant or lying, perhaps both. It's a huge grey area, and will remain so for the forseeable future. Obscenity law was designed from the ground up to be a dynamic legal concept that could morph to meet law enforcement needs in different locations and communities, and adapt with changing times.

    Great Game Music

Somehow this thread escaped my gaze. Glad to finally find it. To all those who posted FF6 music and FFX music, gg. 6 has the best Final Fantasy ost in my opinion. My first contribution is from Persona 2 (the best Persona game, both entries to the P2 saga). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UUlE-n_AFU& Next is Xenosaga III of course. The Febronia story arc was a damned tear jerker, and the music played a huge role in that. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwvDSBdLjC4 And I'll finish off my entry with an obligatory Atelier entry. Pretty kick ass battle music for one of the boss battles. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myTv7xp2iws

    Fuwanovel Lore

This is a quick guide to get people familiarized with Fuwanovel's mythos. It's very important to know as this is deeply tied with how Fuwans spend their daily lives and you wouldn't want to make a mistake to anger them. After reading this, I am confident you will understand how Fuwanovel works from the inside out. Deities and other notorious figures Scottsune Miku Scott is our lord and savior. He offers us Domino's pizza and lets us have fun with Hatsune Miku. Every person on Fuwanovel needs to at least pay him proper respect and thank him for the life they've been given. He has done many feats in the past such as become the person with the most posts, most profile views, most warning points and most swag. He truly is the definition of a God. Praise Scott OriginalRun #UnbanRun Run was once banned and forever he shall not be unbanned. So the laws of physics dictate. Pleading for Run to be unbanned is a natural occurence, but it shall go unheard for eternity. Azusa Azusa is the best grill, she descended from the heavens to save the anime industry and we shall praise her for it. She is also the most efficient weapon in dealing with TheMajor. Asuna Although the pronounciation is similar, you mustn't mistake Asuna for Azusa, it is a grave offense. Asuna is the worst grill. Some say she is a direct relative to Satan, I wouldn't be surprised. You may bash Asuna anytime you'd like. Cloudfare Whenever Fuwanovel stops working, it's cloudfare's fault. No exceptions. Pulltop Notoriously known for destroying OriginalRun's youtube account, Pulltop runs a Yakuza gang that scouts out youtube videos and sends them DMCAs. They are a very dangerous entity and should not be messed with. Some say it was because of the Pulltop Yakuza that Fuwanovel had to take down all their torrents. They often attract people with cute moege. Beware, this is only a trap to lure you in and get DMCA strikes. Approach with caution. Moenovel The company responsible for the atrocity of a translation that is If My Heart Had Wings. Everything wrong in the Visual Novel industry can be compared to Moenovel. Moenovel shall always be used when complaining about game translations, in any discussion ever. Other Important Objects of Worship Milky Holmes Milky Holmes is the greatest anime of all time. This is ditacted by our lord Scott and mustn't be defied. The only thing better than Milky Holmes is more Milky Holmes Bananas Bananas are Fuwanovel's official fruit. Please eat bananas regularly to stay healthy. Pancakes There is a weapon for every villain. If you ever encounter a subject by the name of solidbatman, know your weapon of choice should always be pancakes. Pancakes became notorious for fending off against solidbatman after he was subject to torture with pancake overload when streaming Little Busters for over 24 hours. They usually prove quite effective. When used, pancakes often cause salt to be created Salt Most fuwans produce salt, especially when angered. You can often see salt dripping from threads and posts, it's one of Fuwanovel's more precious minerals and lots of people enjoy collecting it. Lolis Lolis are to Fuwanovel what coal is to a furnace. They keep the site running. School Days HQ The worst visual novel in history. Only the brave try to touch it with a 10 foot pole. Spam Fuwanovel's insides are mostly made of spam, it is the thing that inflates the forum in content as well as people's post count. My Blender A picture of my blender. Fuwanovel Timeline While hard to grasp for newcomers, Fuwanovel runs on a timeline named Soon What happens in this timeline is, for every new feature that's annouced, a wormhole is created which causes the creation of that feature to be stuck on a sort of limbo. Fuwanovel is perpetually threading this Soon timeline. But it's not to say that the timeline is an infinite loop. Sometimes, through several riots, Fuwanovel is able to temporarly leap out of the Soon timeline and create something new. But the attraction field surrounding the Soon timeline is very strong so these divergences are scarce and far in between. Too many riots often also result in Fuwapocalypses And this is the reason Fuwanovel is in a state of continuous monotony. I hope with this post you became more knowledgable about Fuwanovel and the magic that goes on behind the scenes. With this knowledge, you can now become an official Fuwan! Praise Scott

  17. High schools do get old. I miss the days when adult protagonists made up half of all anime shows... heck, Ai Yori Aoshi's protagonist was a college student, and that one was an early poster child for anime slice-of-life as it exists now.

  27. @suzu you´re my soulmate, definitely. absolutely. period. edit: as for the topic, i disagree. there´re more than enough adults in said games. there´re more than enough vn´s without a school setting. and reason why there´re are this much younger characters in those kind of games, has nothing to do with aiming only for young audience. that way its more easy for writers to create a strong contrast between those people (whom you associate with innocense, fun & carefree) and serious plotrelevant matters (as death, insanity, murder, betrayel & rape). Of course the same does also work with older characters, BUT the impact is greatly reduced, because you see those kinds of people all day in the news, outside & anywhere else. as long as you´re not living in 3rd world countries where child soldiers & slavery are common practice, this what feels unexpected is always that what startles you the most.

  30. Some of my favorite VNs have adult protagonists... Vermilion's protagonist looks like he's in his early thirties but is actually two centuries old, for instance... Zephyr in Silverio Vendetta is in his thirties, as well. However, with heroines... Even if they are in their thirties, they are usually visually in their early twenties or late teens, lol.

  31. No, I mean am I the only one in this community who doesn't really enjoy moe? Or rather I treat moe like how sugar should be treated, a bit of it every now and then is nice. But too much of it is not so good (at least for me).
    1 point
  32. Heretic. Though, as long as your 'don't like moe' =/= 'hate moe' I will refrain from pitchforking. ~~ You know what's more ironic? How VNs in a high school setting have the 'all characters are 18+' disclaimer

  33. tl;dr "Bats your competition for $200+ worth of prizes is too hard wah wah wah." Zodai, I'm quite upset with you and depending on what I decide tonight, you may either be disqualified, or suffer a penalty, or nothing at all. While I did not explicitly state to not give out hints, it certainly was implied, and this is not meant to be easy. The first few weeks may have fooled you into thinking it would, but we must weed out the uninspired and only have the ones who truly want this prize standing at the end.

  35. Minamoto-kun Monogatari (a borderline hentai manga series): Every single moment that I read the series pissed me off, it's just soo desrespectful to the female sex (this is coming from a guy who plays a subway molestation simulator, and likes it). I just want to beat the shit outa the protagonist, but what bothers me the most is how highly the series is rated . I could hit the random button on pururin or fakku and it would be a 80% chance that the hentai that would pop up would have a better story. Ergo Proxy: That ending pissed me off soo much, it was a giant middle finger to anyone who watched the series. It nearly turned me off of anime forever. Steins;Gate: As much as I love the anime, I just can't stand Faris when she is in her Nyan-Nyan mode. Hayate the Combat Buttler (manga): Everytime another character is introduced, JUST STOP IT ALREADY!!!! You already got a great cast to work with and many of the pre-existing characters could use some development. Kemono no Shoujo Erin: Those constant flashbacks of Erin's Mom dying. WE GET IT, THE BITCH IS DEAD, WE WERE THERE. The Pilot's Love Song: The whole fucking anime pissed me off. Mekakucity actors: None of the bad endings from the songs/light novels/manga were adapted, I get shaft only had 12 episodes to work with.... but, the bad endings are pretty much the best part (see the "outer science" music vid on youtube or my profile pic ). Your lie in April: The amazing unamed plot convinent disease/virus/birthdefect/std strikes again! Golden Time: Tada, I get that you have a thing for that "bimbo", but you are a asshole for defending her AFTER SHE PHYSICALLY ASSAULTED A GAL DUE TO PLAIN JEALOUSY. Oreshura/Asura Cryn': In both the protagonist makes a definitive choice of which gal will be his sweet heart and than gos back on their word and becomes a indecisive prick and the end of each anime. MuvLuv Total Eclipse: Cause it's not MuvLuv Alternative.

  36. Decided I'd try to hunt down some info on the topic. First, there's the obvious child porn link. Even assuming lolicon can be treated the same as 'real' child porn, correlation between consumption and actual crime is still debatable. "According to one paper from the Mayo Clinic of the U.S.A. based on case reports of those under treatment, 30% to 80% of individuals who viewed child pornography and 76% of individuals who were arrested for Internet child pornography had molested a child. As the total number of those who view such images can not be ascertained, the ratio of passive viewing to molestation remains unknown." You can find pieces like that anywhere on this topic. Basically, any claims of direct correlation are dubious at best. The moderate, most credible observation, when it comes to lolicon and Japan is summed up here by Galbraith: "Milton Diamond and Uchiyama Ayako show a trend towards more violent pornography and fewer sex crimes in Japan (Diamond and Uchiyama, 1999). This is not to suggest that consuming images of sexual violence somehow compensates for or relieves real desires." There is no evidence whatsoever that consumption of lolicon pornography leads to sexual abuse, nor is there any proof that it prevents it. More research should go into this topic before any decisions are made to outlaw lolicon. Of course, like everything else, governments never need evidence or research to back up a decision once a vote is passed.

    Cross†Channel

Cross†Channel Summary Gunjo Gakuen (Deep Blue School) is a facility designed to gather and isolate those students who got a high score on an adaptation exam (scoring high on this exam indicates that the student is less likely to be able to adapt to society) mandated by the government. After a failed summer vacation with other members of the school's broadcasting club, Taichi Kurosu and some of the other club members return to the city, only to find that all living creatures within it except for the club members have completely vanished. In order to confirm the status of the outside world, Taichi decides to gather other club members to help Misato Miyasumi, the president of the broadcasting club, who is trying to set up a broadcasting antenna to contact any possible survivors. Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order Cross Channel consists of a single ending and therefore there will be no replaying the game to get every single path. Instead the game repeats itself as you're progressing and you get to experience each heroine individually and then reach a true ending after all of their "routes" are done. You will start off the game in what is known as "week one" where only one route is available. Making wrong choices will not give you a bad ending, it will merely make you repeat that week again and you may change your choices to attempt and get the heroine you want, hence why i will be omitting the Bad End section from this walkthrough. Regarding a suggested route order there isn't one as the game has a forced playing order to unlock each path. Route Guideline Miyasumi Misato (Week one) Good End Kirihara Touko (Week two) Good End Sakura Kiri (Week three) Good End Yamanobe Miki (Week four) Good End Hasekura Youko (Week five) Good End Description: After completing Youko's route, and thus all major routes, you will begin "week six." This time, the first choice you make regarding where to go selects which mini-route you will follow. There are six mini-routes, and all of them must be completed. The order you do it in is largely irrelevant, although Kiri's must precede Miki's, and Youko's must come last. Suggested choices: First year classroom Call out to her Go to school Second year classroom Go to school Roof Go to school Invite her on a date True Ending (Week Seven) There are no choices to be made during week seven, all you have to do is read through it and enjoy the ending of the novel. Regarding CG collection: Following this walkthrough should award you 100% of all the CGs as the game forces you to play through every path and thus it's unlikely you will miss one. Attribution This walkthrough was put together and slightly edited by me using the following sources: http://pastebin.com/UnGPvJFn http://strategywiki.org/wiki/CROSS†CHANNEL/Walkthrough
