    Fuwanovel Confessions

Confession: I've been away from women too long. Cute girl I haven't seen since Grade 10 smiled at me today and my heart jumped. I know it was just a smile of recognition, but regardless... sigh .... I need to get out more. xD

  6. Oh yes, astro best grill, definitely not a random male Chinese Canadian who Ren owes money to. I feel like if a project dies it wasn't meant to be alive to begin with. Unless your whole team got hit by a truck.

  9. Reading this gave me a headache >.> Anyways, Assuming everything's all fine and dandy and it's just your registry that is messed up (that's usually the cause of the whole SiglusEngine.exe does nothing problem), try the following: 1. Obtain the directory location of the SiglusEngine.exe 2. Run regedit as administrator so you can access your registry. Rewrite's path is: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Key\Rewrite] Then make sure the values in dat_dir and exe_dir in the registry are the same as the path of SiglusEngine.exe you got earlier (edit them in if not): 3. pray that solves your issue.

  10. I don't think visual novels will ever stop being niche, at least not in the next century. I do believe the niche has potential to be more globalized, but, just like otaku culture, it will likely always be a niche. I find very few visual novel fans outside of actual visual novel communities which speaks for itself. The only people who I managed to get into visual novels only did it because they were anime/manga/LN fans already so it was just a new medium for them to enjoy otaku culture. In terms of western visual novels, there's an even more niche market since they don't have a bigger culture like the otaku culture to associate themselves with, and when they do try do associate with it, the results are often pretty bad due to the stigmas associated with it and just the fact that when you try to imitate Japan you just end up producing a weeb product. The real potential in my opinion is in proper western styled visual novels which have the potential to create their own new niche and expand, without relying on already existing sub cultures, this is probably the most liable way to grow the visual novel niche today and I've definitely seen an improvement in the quality of OELVNs lately, some even managed to make me want to buy them which is rare. But at the end of the day, in my opinion, visual novels can only grow so much, and I don't think they'll ever be huge, but they do have the potential to be more widespread at the very least. And if you ask me about it, I honestly think niche is better, because when things go mainstream, they tend to deteriorate quite a bit, and I don't want to see that happen to my porn visual novels (pls no more Sakura games...).

  11. i keep forgetting to add that this vn has the same problem with most vn's. its hard choosing another girls route knowing that some of the other girls route has a huge revelation about their life that is forever changed for the better, and this is accomplished by falling in love with the mc. it always makes me sad when this happens. like with kotori's route in if my heart had wings.

    What are you playing?

I downloaded all 189 tracks of the Umineko OST. One by one. I don't regret it a single bit.

  13. I have decided that I want to make sweet love to the Umineko OST... So damn good. Was reading it last night, but ended up stopping and just listening to the OST for an hour before bed. That is all. Carry on with your day. The Baldr Sky Dive 1 OST is beautiful too~~~!

  15. Maybe I should ally every round just for the hell of it next game I play? It'd be fun to pull a Tiago and actually lose in a game I've won twice. Oh yes, some rather interesting conversations go on behind the scenes. Like me saying Stray Cat was really getting into his RP. So that means you will betray just for the hell of it? Yeah, nice one. Maybe if you'd been here you would have noticed my wording and actually betrayed. Milady, the scenes of discontent were sown from the moment we stepped foot into this game. He is only... Reaffirming them.

  17. Just wanna say that I betrayed so we could all go out together, but now I realize there was a very low chance of that happening. I will be allying if that reoccurs, to redeem myself if nothing else.

  26. To be fair, waifu bias aside, swapping Ritsuko for Ruriko would've lead to a somewhat boring roster. In that scenario, there wouldn't be a younger heroine with a little less "equipment" to pursue. For the same reason, you can't cut Ayaka, because she's the older girl. Lastly, Rise and Chiho, besides representing their own trope, are intertwined with each other, so cutting either one is off the table. If there just wasn't enough money and time for five routes in development, Ruriko is the only possible cut. EDIT: I can't count. But it's fine. Nobody has to know.

  30. “It’s going to be all right.” These words passed through his mind as he stand there, a gentle sweat trickling down the back of his neck. “None of them are going to die anyway. I’m just doing what I have to do to get out. I’m doing it for them anyway.” The group stood around the room, exchanging passing glances at each-other and waiting for the score-board to flicker into existence, revealing their fate. Although no one was in danger of dying this round, tensions were not as low as they could have been. Approximately half the group could have 9 points at the end of this round, meaning that they could leave the others behind if they wanted to. Therefore, those who couldn’t win were eyeing the other members suspiciously, as if waiting for them to make a break towards the number 9 door as soon as the scores were revealed. Sanada worried about what might happen to him when the other members realized he had betrayed. However, he was more worried about what would happen if his opponents betrayed him. Would he be stuck in this place for the rest of his life? In fact, what would be the point of having a life left he did end up stuck here forever? That’s why he had decided, no matter what, he was going to get out of here. As he reassured himself, the score-board slowly flickered into existence. Immediately, Sanada let out a sigh of relief. However, this was short lived as he felt a sharp blow hit the back of his head. As he gazed up from the ground he saw kyrt standing over him. In his hand was a metal pole he must have picked up from the warehouse floor. “I’m sorry, but I’m afraid you won’t be leaving quite yet.” As Sanada looked over, he saw that Funya had done the same thing to Eclipsed. “Oh really?” Sanada replied. Quickly, Sanada pulled a piece of rusty scrap metal from his pocket, slashing across kyrt’s leg. Immediately kyrt let out a wild scream and fell backward, as blood gushed from newly created cut. However, Sanada was already on his feet. In an instant, he had dashed over to the crowd and in a matter of seconds his target became clear. Sanada grabbed Cyr, and pressed the piece of rusty metal against her throat. “I think I’ve shown this is sharp enough to be effective. Now let me go, or you’ll all have her blood on your hands.” Cyr had started sobbing, but Sanada shook her violently, forcing her into silence. “Eclipsed get up, you’re coming too.” Slowly, the three of them began edging towards the number 9 door, as the others all watched apprehensively. Soul was kneeling next to kyrt, applying pressure to the several inch wide gash across the front of his leg. As the door began to open, the other members begin to inch closer to the three of them, but Sanada pressed the metal closer to Cyr’s throat. “If you come any closer, all have to take her with me, and you know what will happen then.” The other members froze in their tracks. Sanada let out a small smirk and then threw Cyr forward, darting under the door after Eclipsed. As the number 9 door clanged closed, nothing could be heard, aside from the sobs emanating from Cyr and gentle drips of kyrts blood as it hit the floor.

  31. the game: it was kind of easy, just had to find better stuff and kill a boss to win the game. map: very confusing, am only like 78% and if you want to go somewhere you have to bring a lot of potions to live. story: i was confuse like the main character and hammer, why doesn't that guy just let us out!

  32. Well, I got kind of yelled at for what I did by some family relatives xD... they said I was being reckless, and should have just quietly handed over all our money, etc. because our lives were more important. Honestly, I wasn't really thinking too much when it was happening... it was like adrenaline rush, and I just did what I thought I needed to do at that moment to get us out of the situation. Yeah, we're lucky nothing happened to any of us. So you were robbed at gunpoint before? How did that happen, if it's okay to ask? About your confession.. Maybe you can try to find someone you could be really honest with? Doesn't it get lonely if you have to keep hiding things? Well, you have us on fuwa to listen to you ;o.

  35. If you don't mind, I'll attempt to edit this like EldritchCherub. I'll probably fail, but it's worth a try. These are simply suggestions, but I hope you take them into consideration. A few points: I like the atmosphere set by the story. Right off the bat, you feel rather immersed in it by how odd it feels. You have a good description of the setting at first, and it stays throughout the story. The things I imagined were constant. I would've liked it if you explored the setting more, but given the length it's fine. Your protagonist is your only character for the moment, and he interests me. It's mainly because I know absolutely nothing about him. He's clearly not some random guy either, so you want to know more about him. His reactions to things are nicely described, but at the same time, they're pretty generic, so I can't pin his personality down. I'm more interested in him as a plot device than a character so to say. Contrary to your thoughts on it, I liked how it ended. Your descriptions gave the story a nice tension, and I like insanity a lot so it was a nice read. It also make you want a bit more. I'm interested in the cut off parts. Also, this feels like a part of something bigger which I want to read, but it's also okay on its own. My main problem was your wording here though. I'm confused with a lot of things in there. All of it detailed in that spoiler tag. Precision of language is important, as inappropriate words can break immersion. Be clear about the scene and feelings of the character. Even the minor things. I feel like you lacked a lot of words here and there too. At times, it ruins the flow. The best example is this: "I’m not sure where it is that I’m going, and I can’t quite remember how it is that I got here. " Like I said there, in context, I'm confused at when this happens. Namely, where is "here"? Also, does this happen while he starts walking, or a long time after that? The conjunction "and" also connects the two clauses without making it feel orderly. Admittedly, I'm not that good at critiquing, so I'm sorry if my explanations are really vague. And also, I'm sorry if my tone here is a bit... offensive here so to say. Overall, I liked it.

  36. The picture is entirely unrelated to most of this post. So, as many of you who play UnTl'd VNs may know, JParser is a lifesaver. It is both love and life, bae, and every other romantic term you can possibly apply to a normal human. In other words, for someone who is a JLP (Japanese Language Plebian), it is a god send. I've been using it up until now, which is about a month (I can't believe I've been reading AkaGoei for like a month..) and it has really been working for me. But the other day... something happened. Something that changed everything for me So I was talking to a certain SubaHibi fan the other day, and he informed me of a different way for me to understand moon runes. While my grasp of grammar has definitely improved, I still rely heavily on dictionaries to understand the other words, so I was all ears. As he spoke the name... it was like heaven itself had opened up and rained down it's infinite glory of kamige on to me. .... Rikaisama. What is rikaisama? It is basically JParser, only it actually gets updated. That and it is used in your browser. Problem is rikaisama is only for an inferior internet browser Firefox. Here is an image of what my setup looks like now: Looks a lot cleaner in my opinion. So let me break this down for you. Like JParser, mousing over words brings up defintions and different words for what it might possibly be. Making sure that ITH is set to automatically copy to clipboard, I have a site open that has a resizeable text box so I can paste what is on the sceen and check it out in my browser by mousing over stuff. Ironic that the page I am using is Translation Party, but it doesn't really matter what you use as long as there is a textbox. I am using Translation Party because a certain SubaHibi fan showed me to that site first. There ARE alternatives to rikaisama, such rikaikun for Chrome.. but rikaisama is more customizable. So yeah, sure you will have to switch over to Firefox if you aren't already using it. Honestly the switch isn't so bad. After all... Rikaisama has an optional name dictionary.. and if that isn't enough to convince you.. then I don't know what will. All credit for this goes to a certain SubaHibi fan. Thanks for showing me this method, as it is definitely more convienent. Or at the very least... it makes my screen look nicer. On an unrelated note, seems I haven't updated this in a little bit. I have been busy over the last few weeks, but I certainly have not forgotten about it (not that many people read this thing at all xD). I finished Aya's route and am on Tsuki's now, but I am taking a break from AkaGoei in order to play some Totono, if you couldn't tell from the above picture. Totono is kind of like a break for me, as it is easier to read than AkaGoei in my opinion. Anyway, thanks for stopping in guys. Hopefully I'll get something else up again soon.
