Ha, you thought this would be sappy. You know me better than that. As the longest tenured member to reach 3000 posts to date, it is my duty to do a proper 3000th post. One that preaches maturity, generosity, and above all, a sense of superiority. You see, back in my day, there were no rigged banner votes, there was no Zakamutt running a blog, there was no Rooke scaring little kids as Australia murdered everything he loved (mostly books and western rpgs). Back in my time, there was one thing we worried about... piracy. Thats gone now, replaced by Zakamutt. Soon, I assume we will be changing our slogan to, "Make Zakamutt Popular in the West". I've spent years building this Swedish robot, and its time to unleash Zakabot on the world. First it was the Fuwablog, then Fuwatwitter. Soon, Fuwaworld. When I joined, I originally needed help on getting Never7 to run, as I've mentioned before. I never got that help, and never will. Never7 will Never run 24/7. I was in the middle of reading Ever17 and Clannad, having only read Analogue up to that point. VNs were a whole new world to me and I loved them. Then came fucking Little god damn worthless shitty ass Busters. Fuck stupid rocket ships, fuck seagulls, fuck Groundhog Day, fuck pancakes, and fuck Refrain. Little Busters began a slow downward spiral for me. I presumed things would be better when I read Paca Plus. They... did not. But what really broke me... what drove my face into the dirt and piss all over me was Fading Hearts. It was at that moment, Miyazaka's words came back to me. "Visual Novels were a mistake." So here I sit, hating the medium of visual novels, with the realization that they are simply porn games, or excuses for panty shots, or sad examples of how disconnected from the real world some people are, or just Key being shits and deus ex machina-ing their way out of any meaningful drama and endings. And guess what? This Fuwanovel site, that loves VNs, has me, a hater of VNs, reviewing one of the biggest fan translations of the year with Majikoi! I asked to do it though. Because when has something so hyped ever been bad? Oh, that reminds me. I did read a bit of the demo of Nekopara before asking myself what the fuck I was doing with my life. So how do I feel about Fuwanovel after 3000 posts? I'm really only here for the people at this point. Sure, helping out with the Facebook and Twitter are fun, but the shit posting here is perfect. Before you start asking how the game is over when no one has reached 5 points yet, let me give you a quote and explain my reasoning. This quote stood was ever present in my mind as the game progressed. This game stood as a simple wager to myself, and the subject of said wager was the human soul. However, instead of putting on stakes on bribes like money, I wanted to see how people would react with virtually no incentive whatsoever. There was no reason for you to betray one another. You could have all allied and it would have been over. Yet, for 6 games this never occurred. Some of you, like Tiago, realized the way to victory was to always ally. However, not ‘all’ of you realized this. For most of you, there were times when you would ally and times when you would betray. Essentially, there were times when I could influence you, and times when I couldn't. Some of you would betray only when forced to do so and your life depended on it, and some of you would do it without a second thought. In this way, it ended up being true that the human soul is random. You couldn't predict what kind of person someone was until they were put to the test; and this game served that purpose for all of you. Further, it’s not like I had 100% control over you guys as well. All I could do was give you a push, and whether or not you responded was all up to you. No penalties were placed on you for not betraying or for not using MS, yet most of you jumped at the chance to mess with your other teammates. From the beginning of this game, there were two conditions in place for victory. The obvious one was that one or more of you reach 5 points, using your cleverness. The other was the most obvious thing that most of you failed to realize, get everyone through in one game. This required little effort and was the most logical choice from the beginning, but until now no one realized that was viable. I honestly only expected the game to go 3 rounds or so until this happened but surprisingly it didn't happen until game 7. This is not to say that what transpired didn't live up to my expectations. This is far from the truth. I had a great deal of fun watching this game progress and observing how clever some of you could be. In fact, I worry for my own safety if I even end up in a real-life survival game with some of you. Overall, this was an enjoyable experience and I couldn't have asked for more. Thus congratulations to Tiago, Linova, Silvz, Funya, Cyr, Grimm, Kurisu, Shiko, and XReaper. All of you will be receiving awards for reaching the true end of the game. To the rest of you, thank you for participating. I hope to come up with more games like this at some point in the future.

Coliseum of Chatter doesn't mean literally everything can go there, and I would hope you have the common sense to understand that. Mods base their judgement regarding how retarded something is and wether it provides some sort of justification to exist, or at the very least if it's funny enough to exist, something that didn't happen with that thread, and also doesn't exist with this one, hence it's getting locked as well, and I'm sure you guys have enough common sense to realize why since you seem to be so keen on trolling the forum, so I hope it doesn't appear again either, and if it does, I guess we'll have to take more drastic measures. Sooo I started playing SubaHibi. Just got done with Down the Rabbit Hole 1. It started out as a yuri harem, which I'm totally okay with, and the end was pretty damn good. I also loved the scene in the attraction parc. That was pretty damn creepy, SCA-Ji sure is a master of the denpa-kei. I'm really curious what direction it'll all take now.

Quite a number of light novels have been recently licensed so I'm thinking about legally purchasing them, but I worry about censorship and the quality of the translation (editor notes,if the original jokes have been destroyed or not etc...). Please tell me if you have purchased some and where to order LN online.

There was potential in the idea behind paid mods but Steam does such an awful job of quality control it would've gone up Shit Creek the moment it started, so perhaps this is for the best.

There is alot more to Dies than prose, and alot of fans of Dies aren't going to walk in and expect a masterpiece of an adaptation. To alot of people I've talked to, they're just interested in both A: The idea of Masada being at the helm of an anime and B: Seeing some of the cooler scenes of the game animated. Thats it. Nobody i've talked to wants nor cares about a proper adaptation of dies because its too unreasonable. Thats what i mean: Fanservice. Just for people who have played the game, like how the Oretsuba anime is incomprehensible to anyone who hadn't played it (it's apparently filled with injokes that only people who followed the game really 'got'). I'm not really sure how masada plans on bringing his touch to anime, but I have alot of trust in the guy, so at the very least I'll probably be entertained. And another thing: Light had already been asked awhile ago about an english translation of Dies and they refused, so thats not happening unless via fan translation, and Dies is above anything most fantranslators can handle. The idea of that is even more incomprehensible than a dies adaptation.

The other reason I really like my tattoos is that my family has gone to the same artist each and every time and we love him. My mom had her 17 done with him, my sister had her 6 or so, my 7, and my dad had his 1; he's a really great artist and he does a fantastic job.

Front Site and Traffic Loss (This is the more meaty-part of my post today) (Recall: there was speculation as to how much traffic we'd lose after dropping torrents) I've been saying a lot lately that we haven't seen the drop in traffic hit Fuwa yet. Well, I've crunched some numbers and it does look like we've lost ~18-23% of our traffic to the front site (it varies month-by-month, so that range is a cumulative average which is the best data we're going to get) The forums and blog traffic haven't been significantly affected. In fact, both have generally risen in traffic Fuwa's SEO rating and visibility has increased dramatically -- especially in (randomly) Indonesia, Spain and France. We've seen bumps in US search ranking, too. The drop in front site traffic may or may not be related to torrents. The front site is kinda crappy atm: I think part of the drop is that it isn't doing a whole lot, yet, so we really do need to get the new design up as soon as is reasonably possible. Nay and I have both been unavailable the last few weeks, but we both make it a goal to come back and hit the Fuwa work this coming week with some vigor and vim I'm still not sure how much traffic we're getting to our VNTS posts from the link on the weekly Reddit post, but I just want to say it's awesome they are still doing it. If we don't like the menu placement, we can make an easy change to the logo which would let the menu be flush on the left All of the submitted dark theme logos were really nice (well... almost all of them : P), but they didn't all play well with the dark theme's background. I used this one b/c it works well, but I think we can swap through them periodically. If we want to TRY an animated background, it's easy to turn on/off (just commenting/un-commenting a line in a .js file) The theme's first name is "The Infinite Stomach", which is meant to be a shout-out and "thank you" to Clephas. You really class the place up and you single handedly fight the loli menace. Not to mention you're one of a very select club of true VN masters. We're lucky to have you with us. Much < 3. The Dark theme's name will change periodically to recognize people, or be a prize in a site competition, etc.

If 4.0 is a sane rewrite, at least regarding the underlying plugin architecture, I can give that kind of stuff another look. I would actually argue that the difficulty in Totono is deceiving. Sure, it's written in a simple way, and save for some game/VN jargon the vocab is also relatively simple - but it's absolutely necessary that you can understand spoken Japanese without any help, that is to say have a good grip on not only grammar, but a large enough vocabulary as well. In other VNs, you can pretty much push your way through even without any vocab at all, as you can look up every singe word with no trouble using TA - but there are certain parts in Totono where this just isn't possible at all. I think there are much easier VNs to start with, Totono is good when you're confident enough to watch anime, etc., raw, without any subtitles.

I would say you need basic grammar and vocab (basic guide or course) to read it. Kanji isn't so important yet if you know how to use jparser. Totono is a good VN to start to expose yourself to Japanese text

is there a script and line count somewhere for them on the forums? Not how much has been translated, but an overall total? I ask because i'm looking for an estimate of how long each afterstory is. An estimation of the approximate time of each afterstory is also fine.

I think I've reached the end of the common route, and I guess I'm on Ayaka's route now having picked her name twice... but it's not clear yet since I just got through all the drama that I think signaled the end of the common route. Given that I only had four choices (the four heroines shown on the initial title screen), will more routes unlock as I play through more times, or am I simply not on a route yet? That is, assuming there actually is at least a Ruriko route, since you all have mentioned it, and since she wasn't in the choices... Also: I'm normally not a fan of the token "loli" at all, because I don't like the "character note: incompetent at life" that frequently gets tacked onto such characters, but Konomi doesn't come with that baggage, and her personality is ridiculously cute. I've decided I just have a thing for genki girls (Clannad's Kyou usually tops my personal overall best girl ratings). At any rate, I was obligated to change my profile picture, at least until the next shiny thing catches my eye.

True. I have a sufficient number of superficial friends right now, but only maybe two with whom I feel close enough to talk about pretty much anything. It doesn't help that one of those two is my former roommate who moved across the country 2.5 years ago after he finished grad school out here in Seattle (it turns out that, if you voluntarily live with someone for 5 years, you end up pretty close). Careful there, sub, before you hurt someone's feelings. Here's at least a couple of random reasons that immediately came to mind: - Recently hurt, and still emotionally recovering. Bad relationships are common, and recovering from them can take time, and could even require assistance from trained professionals. - Some people just aren't interested (given the statistics reported by a study mentioned there, it's more common than, say, playing VNs...): asexuality. I had a close friend in college who I'm pretty sure would self-classify this way. So, now you know, and knowing's half the battle!
