This is just a suggestion, for those who read untranslated... basically, every three months, I suggest a list of five VNs (each from a different genre or type) that those who read untranslated pick from. These will all be VNs I've read before (I don't believe in suggesting VNs I haven't played before) and my recommendations will be based - after the first quarter - on what the members of the club think might be interesting. The first rule is that any genre that is picked can't be picked twice in a row... mostly because chuunige, moege, and gameplay-VNs all have their passionate followers who will vote their candidates in every time, lol. The second rule is that it has to be a VN from my vndb list. I can't recommend something if I haven't played it, and I'll at least consider anything from that list. Feel free to make a case for your favorite VN (untranslated). If it looks interesting, I'll endeavor to add it to my random VNs, play it, then consider it for the list of candidates. Nukige and rapegames are out of the question. This is simply a matter of practicality... because those aren't really fit for the average reader. Try to keep reading levels within reasonable limits... I won't suggest Dies Irae or Bradyon Veda unless there is a request, for instance, because their difficulty levels are too forbidding for the average reader. For the purposes of this thread, nakige and 'normal' moege/charage will be considered to be separate genres. Fantasy and sci-fi will not be considered to be separate genres... mostly because about sixty-percent of all non-nukige VNs have some kind of fantasy element in them. If all the members of the club who are reading/playing finish the chosen VN early, we can start a new round early. Double-listings (multiple VNs, for those who can't bring themselves to play certain genres) will be considered, if the group is large enough. If you have suggestions, please feel free to post them now... my current list of candidates are Haruka ni Aogi, Uruwashi no (nakige) Yurikago yori Tenshi Made (chuunige) Tasogare no Sinsemilla (general VN/story-focused) Harumade Kururu (mindfuck) Ikusa Megami Zero (gameplay/rpg) Edit: Aaah... incidentally, I won't be voting during any of these. By putting these VNs up here I'm basically saying I'm perfectly happy replaying them or have played them recently enough to discuss them in detail, lol. I'm interested to see which one gets chosen.

Recently I finally decided to start up a Youtube channel for music in general. Kaito is probably the closest you'll get, honestly... someone who had a brutally oppressed childhood and yet has a personality that - though twisted - is nonetheless extremely... 'forward'. The situation isn't a perfect mirror, but his disregard for conventions and common sense in the pursuit of his desires is pretty close to it, as well as his refusal to speak politely to well... anyone.

Behold! The full glory of an (almost impossible) C64 visual novel. No sound, cause pic. Jokes aside, this might be a near perfect, running imitation (mockup?) I made, but I swear it can actually happen, sooner or later. Definately not with Holo, but a retro-esque catgirl vn, simulating C64 hardware is looming on the horizon. I just do what I do with everyone xD... stop talking when they aren't responsive. I think it's pretty easy to tell when someone isn't interested in talking more... it mostly gets quiet & very one-sided in terms of effort. At least at the acquaintance stage.. I wouldn't want to bother people too much. When you're closer friends, you can be more annoying and get away with it.. because sometimes they'll just tell you to stop being annoying, lol. Confession: I'm very thankful to Ren! I received the giveaway gift of Clannad today, and it made me very happy~! Hehe.. I wanna show it off! When I have more free time, I'd like to play it and can also practice my Japanese on it.

Actually, if there were enough market, I am sure on Speccy would be great VNs. As even having its mind-blowing screen architecture, people really able to produce very pretty images. Love Rec. - Finished! I give it 9,5/10! Like pretty much everything about it, story development, art, voice... Only -0,5 because some CGs look...kinda worse than sprites somehow (maybe just my impression).

I cannot wait for Seinarukana and if Mangagamer gets rid of their DRM then I also am looking forward to Gahkthun and the sequel to Kara no Shoujo. Is Bokuten actually supposed to be any good? If I might make a suggestion but in order to free up space if you have a game like Grisaia no Kajitsu on there perhaps you should just keep the first game in a connected series on the list (mention and link the sequels) instead of putting them all separately. This way you can put more variety on your list? Just a suggestion.

Man the prose in RuiTomo. <3 Tomo is a really convincing trap, haha - especially that voice acting, damn. Cointidentally, I've also started a VN by Hino yesterday - Hello Lady!. The presentation in the prologue was very nice, but the engrish... ouch. Now I just have to see if I have the willpower to push myself through the rest of KonoSora or just get on Hello Lady! instead completely.

So many ppl said her route was one of the best, but man if you save it for last that first half is one massive dragginess of doom. ~~ Rawr, you should've done Rise -> Chiho -> Ritsuko -> Ayaka . Though, route orders overrated. Just go with your own flow~

This got a sufficient explanation in the LN, at least - magic crystals power useful things like elevators, apparently. It was maybe two sentences in the LN; obviously not something they expected you to be that worried about On a whim, I watched the first two episodes of The Disappearance of Nagato Yuki-Chan. I'm a huge Haruhi fan, so it's kind of surprising I didn't get around to it until now, but I guess my instincts that had me avoiding it were correct. It's fine and all, I suppose, but it just doesn't have that same magic that the first series and the movie had. I think all I want from the Haruhi series is for the author to finish the light novel series. But, I'm probably being unfair - I shall at some point watch the rest of it and see if maybe it finds its own magic as well.

If you have it, then play it for yourself and make your own judgement. I don't think it impacts the game as negatively as sanahtlig implies. It would be ridiculous to skip on it just because of a few message board posts, and outright asinine to complain about it without experiencing it for yourself.

I should propably remove the poll now, since it was meant to be more of a joke, than anything. Not saying I won't use the collected data, or troll people by making a game with least popular choices System is more or less finished. I'll be working on the UI and art assets from now on, possibly script as well. This is going to be one hell of a week, I'll tell you that.

Which reminds me. I played until the opening movie yesterday and boy was I reminded why I chose Ran for my first route. A lot of things about her strikes me as good. Those curves, hips, voice, interaction, personality, and other stuff. It's disappointing that she only had two scenes though. I'm going for Yukino first this time.
