The fact that a Winged Cloud game was the only example of a vn shows how little they actually researched that part of the segment, and as a media student, I find that incredibly frustrating!

I would run straight out of the door if I saw a translation project with a stretch goal of "we will edit the game more carefully". Sounds almost like "if you don't give us loads of money and we have to send out a low-quality product, then it's your fault, deal with it".

It's really easy to hide information from readers about your story. It's really hard to pepper in that information in interesting ways and then reveal how it all connects in a surprising manner. Kara no Shoujo 2 is a recently translated game that does this very well. Euphoria, unfortunately, is not.

Hmm, that is really strange. I´m at a loss. Have you tried doing a fresh install of visual novel reader? You could alternatively try using a different translation program. Deep blue has a good thread on a good, lightweight tool. Other than that I´m out of ideas, sorry.

Well, technically speaking, it's not translated - it's localized. Or maybe I should say - heavily Americanized? Kinda like Phoenix Wright/Gyakuten Saiban series. In case of Phoenix Wright, while some things seem off occasionally, it's still kinda fun in it's totally altered version. As for Kamaitachi no Yoru... No idea - since it's heavily based on Japanese folklore, I didn't touch the butchered I mean - localized version, and decided to read the original instead... someday.

Yes it has some point that it forgets to explain, but overall I was satisified with what I got, this may be because of how I interpreted the story as a whole, so yeah I kinda refuse that it doesnt do it well. TL;DR the way euphoria spread the information out was superb imo

shitty? how? How was that better than madoka basically dying? "You know everything we've been building up since episode 1? Yeah, fuck all that." It's just shitty in narrative terms. Whether what happened to Madoka is good or bad is entirely subjective and really isn't what defines the ending as being shitty or not, I was just severely disappointed with the asspull to milk the series. And of course, I'm disappointed because the movie just ends like that, without continuing, but hopefully this 4th movie makes it all better. I was hopeful there would be a 4th movie, otherwise that ending would just have been trash, but now it's just a "meh" ending since I know things continue.

I did but it doesnt work for Clannad Anyways I found how to check the back log, you have to press "page up/page down". That is the most non intuitive way to check the backlog I have ever seen, holy crap.
