I thought it would be good to introduce myself as of now
Kosakyun and 2 others reacted to Arcadeotic for a topic
So, As I have been delving more and more into this community, I thought it would be a good idea to introduce me, before I delve too far. So, I'm Arcadeotic or just Arc, a VN-fanatic from the north. I have been lurking in this community for about a year, a little more than how much I have been playing VNs. But as I haven't really posted anything, that is kinda irrelevant. Anyhoo, how I started at this medium was watching Sakurasou Pet no Kanojo maybe, 1,5 years ago. Then i got into little more anime, then into manga, and then into Light Novels. I truly got into this community 11-ish months ago in the start of February, 2015. I know how many people start with easy, short Visual Novels and KS, but I started with, funnily enough, Princess Evangile. I was browsing Youtube, and I saw how some channel was playing PE. I watched an hour or two, and then right after bought it. Then I basically was locked in my room for 5-6 days. That's basically my origin. Now it has been almost a year. And I have collected about 70 VNs, beaten over 45, learned Japanese decently enough and made myself a part of several communities. I must say I'm happy for what I've gotten in under a year. And now I may try to grasp something even greater. Now that introductions are over, I can say, Thank you and I'm looking forward to our future patronage and collaboration. See you again very soon. - Arcadeotic3 points -

Top 5 VN Heroines
CeruleanGamer and one other reacted to VirginSmasher for a topic
I'd thought I'd make a thread of everybody's top 5 visual novel heroines and the reasons behind them being liked so much. Also, one pet series or else some people's lists are gonna be filled with one series alone. My top 5 are 1. Usami Haru (G senjou no Maou)- she's smart, funny, and cute as all hell. Especially the hair, I don't know why I love it so much. 2. Mayucchi (Majikoi)- I love her awkwardness in the first game and how she starts overcoming it. Plus, she's adorable and busty. 3. Yumiko (Grisaia series)- I love quiet heroines, but she added a little more to that and seeing her transform from such a cold person into what she is currently in the series was great. Plus, she's hot and busty. 4. Sachi (Sharin No Kuni)- her personality and changes she goes through in her part of the game were awesome to watch and she was already a fun character. Also, she's hot and busty (and you see a common trend). 5. Tohno (Air)- again, back to the quiet heroines and although she's not the same kind as Yumiko, her personality shines through and her route is one of my favorites in all the Key visual novels I have played. It'll be interesting to see your guys' lists.2 points -

1/ Isurugi Chie (Kira☆Kira) Seriously, I don't really know why I love her. Probably because, she's very cute...and because I'm a Tsundere fan. Or is it because atheist characters are very uncommon ? 2/ Tohsaka Rin (Fate/Stay Night) Again I love Tsunderes. Morever I really love her design. Confession : I have a (big) weakness for witch/magician type 3/ Shiina Miyako (MajiKoi, MajiKoi S) She's smart, anticonfomist, very funny, tough and Loyal. 4/ Sion (Eden*) She's the perfect balance between extreme genius and extreme cuteness. And she seems so fragile...I want to protect her 5/Thyme Mayumi (Really? Really! ; Shuffle!) Tsundere + Mischievous/Funny + Heterochromia = Killer combo.2 points -

Bunny Black Info/Help Topic
Mr Poltroon reacted to Martic for a topic
Bunny Black Bunny Black is the first of a trilogy developed by SofthouseChara, known for their unique simulation games. Every game they release is a simulator of anything from managing a Hot Spring resort to surviving on a deserted island. Unfortunately, this is their first game to be translated into English. The English patch for this game was created by the hard working people at Seiha Translations. Big thanks to them for their hard work. They also plan to translate Bunny Black 2 and 3! As it is a fan translation, there are some mistakes here and there, but nothing major. I don't have any right to complain Bunny Black (at least the first one) is more or less a simulation of being a minion to a demon. There is a hierarchy to work your way up, and the game is pretty addicting if not a bit grindy. The gameplay is traditional dungeon crawling, akin to King's Field. This game is difficult at first, and some people may rage quit pretty early on due to it. After you gain some resources and get the hang of things, this game becomes a breeze (mostly.) If you follow the starting tips in this help topic, even if only as a guideline, then you should be well on your way to... raping women. A lot. The rape in this game is very light. No mind break or guro(gory sex). If you have played Rance, it's a bit like that. Although in my opinion it is a little darker, but still not too bad. You can't avoid all of these scenes either, as when you rest to restore health and skill uses there is an H scene. Some are rape, some aren't. You can hold ctrl to skip through these quickly if you desire. This guide is still a work in progress, and I rely heavily on the community to fill in the blanks, so feel free to leave any info or knowledge you think is relevant, or ask questions if what you need to know isn't covered in the guide. Dungeon Maps Here are the links to each dungeon's maps. If your browser supports it, translate the pages to English. In Google Chrome, just right click and select Translate to English. Updates(Check back frequently) Update #1: Compiled a list telling you how many H scenes are available for each female adventurer class. Also working on a skill list, but the tedium means it is updating slowly. Update #2: Skill list mostly complete. Missing some max use info and the English Patch names for some of the skills. I color coded the skill names to match their category color ingame. This will hopefully make the list easier to navigate. Update #3: Reformatted the guide. Update #4: Skill list almost done. Just need the Seiha translation names for some skills, and the max uses for Poison Shot. Starting tips -Don't gear yourself out in the beginning. Instead, focus on buying demons. Make sure to get a Heal Goo at first, and some type of tank (I recommend Werebear) Save up to get a Fairy quickly, as not only does it give you some magical prowess, but it is a competent healer. It also allows you to see yourself on the minimap. -Make sure to do cleaning jobs and avoid battles until you have at least one Fairy, one Heal Goo (or another Fairy if you prefer), and two tanks (again, I recommend Werebears) -When choosing a weapon, keep in mind that Spears, Daggers, and Shurikens will allow you to take skills from two skill trees. Dagger and Shuriken will allow you to use Edged and Ranged skills, while Spear will allow for Edged and Blunt. It is also worth noting that the ranged skill tree contains the only STR based full AOE skill in the game. -In the Options menu, you should notice an option that controls auto saving. At default, it is set at 2. This means the game saves after every battle (even if you run away.)Don't be afraid to abuse this in order to save yourself some frustration/time. -Do some grinding and you will be able to handle the Tower of Storms pretty easily. Just watch out when doing jobs in the next dungeon. -Don't be afraid to leave a dungeon if you take a job and find it too hard. The job will not be affected, and you can come back to it later without any penalties. -Watch out for cursed equipment. Once equipped, you can't unequip it without paying 1000 gold. They will also do continuous damage to you every turn in battle, so if you do accidentally equip one, remove it immediately. The best way to tell if equipment is cursed is to read the item description. If it sounds negative, it is probably cursed. -You can use the arrow keys to move, or change the Key Configuration in the Options menu for a setup of your choice. I didn't notice this right away (oops!) -You can assign your skills to something of a hotbar. In battle, if you go to your skills list and choose a skill, you can click one of the empty slots on your battle menu to shortcut the skill to it. You can only do this with 3 skills, and the top bar is an auto skill bar, meaning if you put your regular attack there, you can just click on an enemy and attack it without having to choose the option on your battle menu. -If your demon dies in battle, you can rehire it at the shop (it will be at the top of the party list in red). The cost of this increases as it levels up, and also increases the more it dies. -In terms of difficulty, from easiest to hardest, we have: Tower of Storms - Cave of Bueroza - Garden Lair - Overgrown Thicket/Frozen Wood - Cavern of Flames - Den of Malevolence - Overlord's Shrine. Cavern of Flames is ranked higher than Thicket and Frozen Wood due to having to have a specific type of demon in your party in order to move freely. Thanks to Suzu Fanatic, it's now a little clearer what the tactics options in battle do exactly. Attack- Focus on offense, but characters that can heal still might do so. All Out- All offense, none of your demons will heal. Survive- Demons will only use physical attacks, they will not heal or use magic of any kind. Standby- All of your demons will simply defend. If you are grinding last hits on female adventurers, this can make things go faster. Conserve- All demons that can heal will mainly focus on healing. All on One- All demons will attack the same enemy. Front Row- Your demons will only attack the back row. Back Row- Your demons will only attack the front row. Skill Point Allocation Since you won't be able to max out all of your skills, here are my recommendations on what skills to get. Must Have: Master of Unlocking- It's not required to max this, but put a few points in it. 80% of my equipment came from magic chests, and paying 1000 to unlock one is too much. If you so choose, you can abuse save states and open all the chests in your room, write down what the traps are, reload, and open them safely with no penalty. The traps are static and don't change, so this method will work. I used it about halfway through the game because some of the trap penalties are a little steep. (4000 gold if it's a bomb? Way overkill.) Combat Medic(and all spells it unlocks)- The AI is... unreliable at best when it comes to healing. For instance, with a team of 9 my healer was using the highest tier all heal spell whenever one character took a single point in damage. It's best to learn these yourself. Warp Magic- Don't max this skill, just raise it until you get Adv Warp Magic, since this lets you teleport anywhere you choose as opposed to randomly. Also put a point into Spatial magic, as this lets you exit the dungeon immediately. Weapon Skill- Whichever weapon skill tree you choose, put points into it early so you can unlock more weapon skills. I chose Edged weapons, and at level 5 you get a skill that hits the whole front row, which stays useful for most of the game. Charismatic- Probably the most important. Get this as early as possible, because once you max it you unlock skills that raise your whole party's stats by 5 (as a passive.) which you should also max. Recommended: At least one type of magic- Choose an element you like, and raise it until you get the Piercing and Wide versions of it. Raise those until you get the Adv magic of that element. These skills will let you hit a column, row, and the whole field respectively. It's good to have as many AOE skills as possible. Weapon/Magic Master- If you are a mage, choose magic obviously. These will strengthen all of your weapon/magic skills. Steadfast/Magic Resistant- If you are making Darx into a tank, max both of these ASAP. If not, then consider only raising these halfway. Chicken Heart- Pretty handy for emergency situations. Most games I don't recommend these types of skills, but here you will probably need it. Popular- You have to sink quite a few points into this, but with some of the higher costs towards the end of the game it is worth it. Good Haggler- As I have stated, I used magic chests for most of my equipment, so I recommend this over VIP treatment. If you choose to sell chests, then get VIP treatment instead. Quick Learner- This one is up to you. I'm about 70% through the game, and with some grinding am already level 99 (max level). I did max this skill pretty early on, but if you don't want to reach max level too early you might consider only raising it halfway, or not at all. Avoid: Vanishing Act- As far as I can tell, this skill does nothing. I used it four times in a row and it didn't do a thing. Appraiser- It only costs 100 to appraise at the shop, and you will be going there to sell loot anyways so there's no reason to take this. You might be able to justify this if you only take the first level early in the game when you are broke, but at that point you will need other skills more than this. Status Effect magic- There virtually 0 application for these. Most battles will end too quickly for these to make a difference. I feel as though the same can be said for stat buffs (I never used them) but not to the degree that I would say to avoid them. Medicine Man- Perhaps it's just me, but I never use healing items. So this skill is pretty useless. You can put some points into it if you use healing items, but otherwise don't bother. Any of the skills that aren't listed each have their uses depending on your build and/or patience. After the first bit when you are gathering resources the game gets much easier, so keep that in mind when figuring out which skills to take as well.1 point -
I told a couple people I would post my thoughts about Sayonara wo Oshiete when I finished it, and just a few days ago I finished a bad end and Mutsuki's good end. So here are my impressions, thoughts, and analysis of that experience. Also, this post does not contain any significant spoilers to the VN. So its safe for all those that are curious. (Also from here on forward I will refer to Sayonara wo Oshiete as 'Sayooshi') Before I start talking about Sayooshi, I want to briefly describe the circumstances in which I discovered it. During this past summer, after having studied Japanese (with a grammatical focus) for a while, I wanted to get a few easy moege under my belt before attempting something I actually wanted to read. I was honestly having a miserable time, as I hate moege. I was reading them for no other reason than to practice and learn Japanese, as they were appropriate for my level. I wasn't having fun, and it honestly felt like work more than anything else. Just as I was about to give up on Untld Vns for the time being, I read a post by Vokoca talking about Sayooshi, and he linked to this video. The unsettling music and ominous imagery instantly piqued my curiosity and I set out to get this VN. For a while I was saving it, still thinking "My Japanese isn't good enough yet", but then at some point in the fall I decided "Fuck it, with the help of dictionaries and text hooking software, I can make this journey", and began reading it whenever I had time. And boy was this a journey worth taking, even if I did proceed through it a bit slowly. I love the first person narrative because getting inside the heads of interesting characters is truly experiencing the world through a different person's eyes. And VNs in my view are the best medium for first person narration, as they allow you to to see and hear what the MC experiences. Furthermore, back ground music enriches the story by immersing the reader in the moods of various settings and situations. Sayooshi takes all these strengths of VNs and the first person narrative, and uses it to put you inside the head of a madman. A man whose sense of reality is slipping further and further away by the day. The unreliable narrator is a literary trope that I really enjoy, but this is an area where I think VNs by default have higher potential than books. It is one thing to solely read the mind of a madman/untrustworthy narrator, it is another thing all together to see and hear that man's world, on top of reading his narrative. Too often I see wasted potential in the artistic side of VNs. Visual art is important for not only conveying ideas (i.e. a picture of a hallway should look like a hallway, a picture of a girl should look like a girl, etc.), but art can also convey moods. VNs of the same era usually have extremely similar character designs, and there is usually a lack of creativity in artistic style in VNs. While the character designs aren't anything revolutionary (it is admittedly nice that this VN came out before moe blobs became popular though), what is special about the art, is the eternal twilight. Hitomi's world is a world drenched in the orange and reddish hue of twilight, as the VN takes place exclusively during the evening. And coupled with all the things Hitomi experiences, the color of twilight really makes things even more ominous. It instills a feeling of loneliness, or at the very least detachment. Supporting the artwork in creating an unsettling atmosphere, is the music. The main theme that plays when Hitomi is wandering the school alone (this theme), only reinforces the feelings of detachment that the visual art and writing create. Character themes as well are quite well suited for each of the characters and the moods they represent, further successfully reinforcing the tone of the writing. Now onto the writing itself. Things are confusing, and they only get more confusing. Any sense of orientation is screwed around with, and this only gets worse as the story continues. You are left thinking "Did what I see actually happen?", until it gets to the point where you just altogether give up on distinguishing reality. In this way, you yourself submit to the insanity and fall further into Hitomi's world. Not knowing what to make of his situation. The only difference between you and him, is that you know he is crazy, but nonetheless identify with him because you experience the same sense of the world as he does. And perhaps weird to say, but the H-scenes in this VN serve to further sympathize with his madness. When I was telling a (non-VN reading) friend of mine about Sayooshi. He admitted that it sounded interesting, and even could appreciate the use of the H-scenes from an intellectual perspective. But he then told me that what he thought was truly disturbing, was not the use of H-scenes, but that "inevitably there will be people out there that will find it arousing". For him, (and his understanding of what I told him about Sayooshi), the sex scenes, which are exclusively rape scenes, serve to reinforce Hitomi's insanity, and therefore their portrayal is justified. But finding the scenes arousing yourself, is horrific as it is identifying with a monster; like the monster that plagues Hitomi's dreams. But it is here, where I disagree. The VN does everything in its power to have you identify with Hitomi's insanity, and the sex scenes are no exception. The sex scenes are arousing, despite knowing that they shouldn't be. It isn't just rape, but the Heroines are (supposedly) middle school girls for Christ's sake. Perhaps eroge players (particularly nukige fans) maybe a bit desensitized, but this is certainly fucked up. But just like when Hitomi experiences the dream that plagues him for the first half of the story, he knows he is the monster raping the angel, and there is pleasure still drawn from this. A pleasure that Hitomi knows is horrible and monstrous. But just as Hitomi submits to the role as the monster as he views his nightmare; we are in an identical role, viewing (and partly identifying) with his sexual misdemeanors as he commits them. It coerces you into submitting yourself to the madness of these H-scenes. By doing so an enjoyment is found in them, but for you and Hitomi alike there is a darkness implied in that pleasure. Furthermore, Hitomi seems to understand that he is defiling them. There is a guilt and sense of disgust felt, but also a feeling of extreme excitement, just as we as readers feel. This is shown through the multiple references he makes to 'contaminating the purity of the angel/Mutsuki', to paraphrase what he says. The H-scenes, and our feelings towards them, mirror Hitomi's perspective; furthering our identification with his insanity. Yet, just like the reoccurring nightmare, the H-scenes almost always end abruptly, and are divorced from continuity. It is not uncommon for an H scene to abruptly happen, end all of a sudden, and the next thing you know you are placed into a completely different context. And not only do the H-scenes lack continuity immediately before and after, but the characters never make reference to it afterwards, and act just as they did before. Further questioning whether they ever really happened. And this confusion surrounding the reality of the h-scenes, makes it easier to identify with Hitomi during them, since the normal consequences and damage caused by rape, do not apply. (Perhaps this would be a considered spoiler if I could guarantee that it actually happened ) And for all these reasons, I feel that the thesis of this VN is the fragility of the human mind. Often we draw huge differences between the mentally deranged, and functional normal human beings; but what Sayooshi points out is that the difference is actually rather subtle. In seeing the world Hitomi experiences, and sympathizing with him, it gets us to realize that we ourselves are not that different. That given his circumstances and what he experiences (and seeing it through his eyes), his reactions are actually understandable. The atmosphere of his world, and reading the thoughts of his mind, gets us to question his sanity, and in doing so, eventually gets us to question our own sanity as well. Sayooshi in an incredibly strong atmospheric experience. And it is for this reason that I feel Sayooshi is a great representative of the strengths VNs offer as a medium. This VN took advantage of all the tools it had as a VN (music, sound effects, visuals, and narrative) to provide a full experience of what the wanders of a madman look like. I really felt like I understood to a degree what it was like to be insane reading this work, and I don't think I would have been able to identify as well if it were told in any other medium in any other way.1 point

5 Yuela. from kamidori alchemy miester strong and stubborn, yuela was able to make a place in my heart. 4 Kitamikado Ayaka. from Princess Evangile. one of the most fulfilling routes in PE. her teasing nature mixed with her candy like voice, makes for a memorable character. 3 Mayuzumi Yuki. From the majikoi series sweethearted girl with a simple goal of wanting to make 100 friends. her social awkwardness make for some great laughs and memorable moments. 2 Kotori Habane. From the Kono Oozari ni Tsubasa o Hirogete series hard decision putting her in 2nd. i love everything about this girl. from design, to voice, to every interaction. i fell in love with her at first sight. thickheaded and strong driven towards her goals. she would be number one but number one has all these traits plus one more. 1 Mihagino Ayano. from Kanojo to Ore to Koibito to. as i said, she has all the traits of Kotori plus one. She loves the mc so much that she is willing to allow him to sleep with another girl. just to clarify, she isnt sad by this and theres no feelings of betrayal, she just wants haruto to be happy and so long as she gets to share in that happiness, thats fine. she even helps the other girls to get the courage to go after him. what a great gal.1 point -

Eiyuu*Senki GOLD Help/Info Thread
EcchiOujisama reacted to CeruleanGamer for a topic
Archimedes is earned at the start of a turn after selling 30 items to the shop. You can easily buy back the items once you get her, so you're not losing anything besides gold. @EcchiOujisama: Very Hard and Nightmare modes are for speed running so they aren't ideal unless you can carry over everything to a new playthrough. I had to borrow one of sagaoz's saves to do it. It's really hard to do a normal playthrough on it because I've seen enemies easily reach 30k troops by 100th turn and it's not fun fighting those because they can easily kill you in a single normal attack. Also, the troop multiplier seems to apply in dungeons and Shambala as well, so yeah.... that 6 Montezuma battle I mentioned earlier, those have 999,999 HP on Nightmare mode... THE FINAL BOSS IS A FREAKING JOKE IN GOLD!!!! It's probably the easiest battle in the entire game. She's so dumb because she just wastes her turn trying to use that mass debuff skill which has some serious wait time. You have all the time in the world to interrupt her over and over again with critical hits and she won't be able to do anything. Just slap in Achilles with Dagda Mace or Ishigawa Goemon with some reduced delay and critical gear for her Flash Kill and you're all set. I fought her on turn 200+ something and she had 540k HP but it was nothing but an HP sponge that I easily depleted within 5 turns. I also had Faust, Nero, and Cleopatra to venom/poison/grudge/curse/seal stack her, and she's losing like 100k HP per turn, which is pretty damn hilarious.1 point -
Top 5 VN Heroines
Canicheslayer reacted to CeruleanGamer for a topic
My top 5 heroines and also waifus. 1. Kurisu Makise (Steins;Gate) - Genius, sensible, logical, calm, mature. 5 traits that 99% of all VN heroines don't have, that's why she will always hold a dear place in my heart. Also dons a collared shirt and tie better than most guys. 2. Ema Skye (Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney) - Like Kurisu, also smart and logical. One of Phoenix Wright's best partners in the series. However, she shows most of her ingenuity when she worked together with Miles Edgeworth. I'm a sucker for forensic shows and her having that background makes me like her more. 3. Mekata Mitsuki (Princess Evangile W Happiness) - Possibly the best tsundere heroine I have ever seen. She's also a bad liar and it's funny as heck whenever she gets caught. Beware Kitamikado fanboys: once W Happiness gets localized most of you will start jumping the Mitsuki bandwagon. She's also a HUGE HUGE HUGE closet pervert. If you thought Mayuzumi from Majikoi was a big one, this girl easily beats her. She almost misses a date with Masaya because 4. Musashibou Benkei (Majikoi S, A-1) - Usually it's hard to find likable lazy heroines but Benkei is one. She's unbeatable whenever she gets serious. Like most heroines, she has lots of strength and intelligence so you will never see her in a damsel-in-distress situation. I also love how her demeanor changes whenever she's drunk. 5. Aomi Isara (Koi to Senkyo to Chocolate) - Resourceful girl tries to make ends meet even in romance despite being poor. That takes a lot of dedication and hardwork. Senpais take great care not to notice, at least not obviously notice. They think it gives you power over them if you get noticed. You must find what grabs their attention and exploit it. Thigh highs. Fresh spring rolls. Twintails. Whatever it is, find it and exploit it. Only then will senpai notice. Then you can kick him in the balls for not noticing you for so long.1 point

What are you playing?
XReaper reacted to Chronopolis for a topic
Still playing Kokuzai wo Ukerubeki mono. Seriously, the author has a penchant for utsuge developments. I'm feeling pretty sick to my stomach. If the VN didn't have it's own charm, genuineness, and impression-lasting characters, I would have called bullshit and quit already. Edit: Finished the game (Kokuzai wo Ukerubeki Mono) Honestly, I should have known from the opening chapter where this was headed. Oh, the thought passed by mind. But I think I took for granted the structure this VN would take. "Maybe this game is about giving someone something and then slowly taking it away from them, in the most painful way possible." "Ohh, the protagonist is going to get it?" Those ideas I had jokingly were very wrong, but also correct in a way. What I wasn't prepared for was how painful and sick this game would make me feel. I thought I liked dark things. No, I just like sorrow, melancholy, gentleness, stoicness, and catharsis. This is like the first part of Saya no Uta, except without the excitement of horror. You're like "WHY is this happening?". And there is no answer. At least no answer that will answer your question. Plot twists that revolve around some iron law, already sit pretty sinkingly in my stomach. But this didn't use that. It, while not directly, was thematically bound to that, all over, which some how made things much much worse. The characters, even the ones you want to adore, weren't my favorite characters of all time, not by a longshot. I wouldn't even call them my favourites. Most of the characters here were rough around the edges, lacking the polish and focus that you see in most characters. Basically they had all these human like moments which normally would be superfluous in a normal story. But they all had moments were you could acknowledge them, or even be moved by them. The cast of characters was something the VN did well, even if I'm left wondering if it had any meaning in the end. The plot progression. You can't really predict what will happen next. You probably can't, and if you can, I doubt it's the kind of story where you'd gain any satisfaction from doing so. While the cause and effect is decently explained, the plot is kinda forced and railroaded at times, though it does pass through a number of memorable moments and countless semi-memorable (also semi-weird) moments. As a fantasy story, this story doesn't exist. Even though there's a somewhat of a world, and worldy events. If you take it as such, you'll be extremely frustrated come the end. One should read it as seeing a cast of characters, with their own views, positions, and personalities. Notably, Kokuzai wo Ukerubeki Mono, relative to any other VN I've played, was fucking torture. The first half was balanced, if not kinda jagged and severe, but the second half was ridiculous. Even the really well-closed out ending and it's catharsis was not enough to hold at bay the frustration and anger of "what the fuck was the point of that?" of the last third. (The ending was great. I cried buckets.) Who the fuck enjoys this? How do you expect me to feel the rush of valor at some character's last moments when I'm too busy vomiting internally and being empty from what's happened in the last couple chapters. It's like trying to enjoy your favourite comfort food while swishing a mouthful of hot sauce. I'm numb, I'm in pain! In any case, the doujin artist is an otome writer, and their preferred pairing is younger woman with older men. So you get some pretty odd and somewhat unsettling (probably as unsettling as typical moe eroge relationships to a normal person) relational undertones. And so the tactic of surviving utusge by periodically gazing at the moe doesn't work at all here. It was a very bitter VN to read. I don't regret it...but, that doesn't change the fact that the last third was torture. I respect what the author's created and acknowledge their skill in certain areas (like pulling one in to the story, and the characters), but I'm not touching any of their utsuge works with a twenty foot pole. Even though the premises catch my eye... Never.1 point -

Sayonara wo Oshiete: A VN That Mastered The Use of Atmopshere
Zalor reacted to Chronopolis for a blog entry
I love it when the visuals or audio style of the VN complement it or define it's own unique identity (doesn't have to be a unique style). From my experience as well, VN's that utilize the audio and visual aspects draw me in a lot quicker than normal novels. This is even if the base story or depiction is comparable. As I found out from Subahibi, Dempa's not really my thing, but maybe I'll come back to this VN. Even though I kinda know what is happening in the VN, somehow getting a hint as how to interpret the (what would normally be) madness makes the VN a more agreeable read. I quite like the observations you made: they're clear and relevant, interesting, and not presuming.1 point -

yep, torchligh 1 was on the right direction(lacked on the multiplayer aspect) and then 2 (just at the same time as diablo 3) came adding all the things that 1 didnt have and much more, and it sold really good too but diablo has this dark theme and torchiligh doesnt even the art style is different, path of exile is for me the true diablo 3 plus it's totally free.1 point -
managed to play through izumo4 just in time & after more or less creating a small timetable (daily chart) i´m mentally prepared to the fullest for whats considered entering the holy realm of "eternal NEETism". this basically means due to current unemployment of mine the next 3-4months (or longer) will consist of reading (dark) nukige for 6h, 5h on more storydriven stuff (chuuni/militaristic/horror/mystery/apocalyptic/non-moe), playing oldschoolish rpgs for 5h & talking/groping/playing with my figurines for ~2h. edit: though i still need getting rid of the huge backlog of mine first, before moving on to the main dish. edit2: nah i dont have anything more meaningful (?) to do with my life, as i grew to despise humanity as a whole, dont plan on getting intimate with 3dpd´s anytime soon & prefer to talk to those only via phone if its non avoidable from the beginning...1 point

here's me, standing in front of the zeiss planetarium in Jena, Germany (the city where miss jena was made) it's also the oldest one in the world, and those two facts were enough for me to want to spend 15 hours alone in a train to be able to see a show there. and yes, it was amazing, although not as amazing as planetarian this was like 2 days ago1 point -

Haven't posted here in quite a while... We're still working hard on the common route! A lot of assets are being produced, thanks to the effort of everyone on the team! Guess I'll just post some assets, since sharing is caring First : our podcast episode 1 video! Cover art : Dizzyworld2, OST : Hustle & Bustle by Jason Walsh Participants : AnotherPlayer, Mac (Tips : do actually watch the video, you won't be disappointed! ) So usually, I often put a background update here with an asset, but this time, I'll do even better : a background speedpainting from Yuuko! And lastly, of course, some fanart, because you all deserved it after waiting for so long without any news : A bit late, but look at all the candy Akira got! (Drawn by Yuuko) That's all for the moment! Stay tuned for some further updates soon-ish! (And follow the thread if you haven't been yet! )1 point -
