Have You Ever Accidently Came Upon a VN?
BookwormOtaku and 4 others reacted to Nosebleed for a topic
I had to read the title about three times to make sure I didn't get the wrong idea I think this is something that happens to almost all of us at least once. A lot of users here stumbled upon the VN genre completely on accident even. If I had to point out the most random story, I'd say it was when I was browsing /h/ a few years ago and found some Katawa Shoujo CGs with Emi and thought having sex with crippled girls seems like a cool game idea this looks like a really good game, and then I found out the title and played it and fell in love with it, even though Emi didn't end up being the best as I initially expected and Hanako won me over.5 points -

As some may have noticed, both this and the project thread have been renamed to reflect that we're going to keep working on the series. How far we'll go depends on the others, but work on A-2 is beginning, while A-1 has hit some bumps that we'll work out eventually.4 points -
Top 5 heroines you hated the most
Fred the Barber and 2 others reacted to Clephas for a topic
1. Chinami from Hoshimemo- I hate bakakko and Chinami is one of the worst of this type because her characterization is fundamentally bakakko+annoying. I don't recall ever being so irritated by a heroine on first encounter. Actually, I was irritated by the fact that she was a heroine. If she'd just been a side-character I wouldn't have minded - bakakko side characters are funny, bakakko heroines suck. 2. Eustia from Aiyoku no Eustia- again, this is a question of placement. One of my primary pet peeves is true route heroines that are weak both in characterization and personality. If she'd just been someone to protect temporarily, she would have been endurable, but as a true heroine she sucks donkey balls and is the primary reason I came to hate the game. 3- Kanisawa Kinu (Kani) from Tsuyokiss- Childishly violent bakakko who is funny as long as you don't think of her as a heroine. Again, a matter of placement. I don't believe bakakko have any place as heroines and aggressive bakakko are even more annoying as heroines. 4. Benio from Comyu- She might be in one of my old favorite games, but she is also one of my least-favorite archetypes... the unrealistic idealist. There isn't a pragmatic bone in her body and her optimism about what she is capable of grates on the nerves. The only time she is in the least bit interesting is during sex, and that is only because I know the protagonist is going to cheat on her. 5. Sunao from Semiramis no Tenbin- For better or worse, she is like a lesser version of Ami... and Ami without Ami's brilliance just isn't that interesting. Her ending is the worst in the VN, and I honestly couldn't bring myself to like her at all, because she is more passive than Ami.3 points -

Reposting because I can. Roughly 6 months ago, a man, who I will name OriginalRun for identity protection purposes, put up an interesting ad offering part of his figurine collection. Initially I did not think much of this, but after a couple of scrolls, a particular piece caught my gaze. Little did I know the second I laid eyes upon that PVC lavender haired girl I had just begun laying down the path of one of the worst journeys I have ever went on. Who was this girl, you ask? Well that was none other than Sasasasasasasegawa Salami, otherwise known as the best Little Busters girls and the rightful owner of what is clearly the true Little Busters route. After this I decided to contact OriginalRun as soon as possible in order to secure myself the Salami figure, and luckily enough, OriginalRun managed to secure it for me. A few months pass and OriginalRun returns to his home country, Freedom Lands, where he was keeping the figure and we begin the currency exchange of what will be one of the worst scams in my life. After giving OriginalRun the amount we had agreed upon for the figure, he guaranteed he'd ship the figure to me when he was able to send out all the packages at home. OriginalRun is a pretty big slob though, so it took about another month before that happened. Once it did happen, I asked OriginalRun to do something that set my terrible fate in motion, I asked him to mark the value of the figure in the package as 20 dollarydoos. You may think at this point I'm attempting to evade some shady laws since I live in Socialist Dystopia, but the truth is because this figure was merely a gift from a friend, I thought valueing it at a common value such as 20 dollarydoos wouldn't hurt anybody and I would still pay the taxes for it regardless. I was naive. About a week passes, and the mail tracking service updating the status on my Salami figure, telling me it has entered Socialist Dystopia. I am joyous, thrilled I will finally be united with the purple goddess, but the heavens had other plans for me, because a couple days after Salami arrived, I recieved a notice from the evil syndicate known as "customs office". They were holding Salami as hostage and demanding a ransom, that ransom was proof of the Salami's value that had been assigned on the package. My heart stops, I scratch my head and wonder what I am supposed to do. I pick up the phone and dial the evil syndicate. 2 x x 6 9 6 9 x x, I press on my cellphone's keys. No answer. I call another time, and another one, and another one, and another one, and at last a connection is made. I explain to the man on the line that Salami was just a gift from a friend, and thus I had no kind of receipt that showed I paid the amount written on the package. The man instructed me to send an e-mail explaining the situation to customs, with screenshots of the bank transactions and other documents. I do as I am told. 3 days later, a reply comes back, the information is apparently not sufficient to release Salami. Sweat drips down my forehead, what will I do if I can not have Salami? I explain the story to them once again, re-iterating that it's impossible for me to have a receipt since the god damn package is a gift from a friend why the fuck are you so persistent with this shit it was merely a gift. They ask me to send in a declaration, swearing on my name and honor that the value on the package is 100% true and I do not intend to sell Salami in Socialist Dystopia or any other country inside the Kool Kids Kontinent. Confused on how to fill this form, I call customs asking for assistance in order to make sure I do not commit any mistake. It was a trap. The man on the other side of the speaker tells me the total value I'm supposed to indicate on the declaration is simply the shipping value, not the value of the figure and the shipping combined. I find this very jarring, so I ask again to make sure this is the right thing to do. The man on the phone insists this is the right thing to do. Thinking customs wouldn't lie to me, I fill the declaration the way I am told to and send it to them. And here begins the countdown to doomsday. 2 weeks pass and I get a second warning from customs, telling me I need to send them documents I had already previously sent and that because 30 days had passed since the initial warning, I would now be paying a 40 cent p/day fee. I am appalled. Why was I not warned of this beforehand, and why was I getting a second warning when I already sent them the documents? I send a new e-mail to customs, asking about the fees and why I got a second warning, to which they reply with "the documents you sent were not valid". I am speechless, they tricked me! I contact OriginalRun again and tell him the situation, he's just as in awe as I was and decides to call customs himself from Freedom Land, but the evil organization was one step ahead, as OriginalRun's call was blocked. I knew at that time that I was all by myself during this peril. I dial customs once more, something I thought I would never do, and they confirm my worst fears, I had declared the incorrect information on the initial form, even though I simply filled it just like the customs' man told me to. Angered, I decide there is only one way to solve this, and e-mails simply won't do, I will go there in person and rescue Salami! The holiday festivities are over and the customs office will be open on the following Monday. My fees keep increasing with each day that passes, 40 cents at a time, but I put up with the pain, slowly stroking my wallet and assuring it everything will be fine. This is when fate decides to throw me out of the loop again, as I am reminded that on monday I also have a final college exam to take. Not only that, but I was reminded of this on the Sunday before the exam! I dodged a bullet and set up an alarm to wake up and take the exam, but due to the unforeseen circumstances, I can not properly get a good night of sleep, and that is only the beginning of what will likely be the most tiring day I will experience in 2016. After sleeping roughly 3 hours, my alarm rings. I unwillingly get up, my limbs barely move, but I prepare to head for college, knowing that after my exam, I will also have to visit customs. I get to college, and hoping to wake myself up a little more, I buy a coffee. I sit down on a table, place the coffee in front of me, and decide to do what I typically do, browse dank memes on Reddit. I take out my tablet and lay it on the table. I'm about to take a sip of my coffee when suddenly, my sluggish arm can't control its motion very well and knocks down the cup. Dark brown liquid spreads across the table and onto my new shoes which were given to me on Christmas. I am disheartened as everything and it's only 9AM, the day looks gloom. After what has likely been a botched literature exam, I go into the subway and head to the customs office. Not being familiar with the area, I have a map on my tablet in case I get lost. I reach the designated station and exit out the nearest stairway. Looking out at the buildings, things don't look like the map, but the road looks similar enough for me to believe I came out through the correct exit. I start going down a road. About 15 minutes pass and I realize this might not have been the correct place after all. I head back to the subway and realize my fears came true and it was the wrong exit. I look at my clock, 12:40PM, 20 minutes before the customs office closes their doors. I begin the biggest dash I could muster, climbing up sets of stairs and then down a large avenue that matches the one on my map, and I soon confirm it by reading the name on a plaque. I can do it, I just need to keep going. I see the bright red colors of the office, they feel like home. I pray to god the doors are still open, that I managed to get here in time, that I didn't just waste about 4,30€ in subway tickets, that Salami won't have to wait for me another day, and the heavens gratiously granted me this wish, as I arrive there 5 minutes before they stop giving out tickets. "Now you're just making this way overdramatic" you say. Well, you'd normally think so, but that's why I kept my ticket which has the time and date on it, recording this historical feat: C0095, yes, that is the number that was assigned to me in this line. I look at the current number, C0061. Some minutes go by and the counter goes to C0062. My stomach grumbles, I realize it's 1PM and I haven't had anything to eat since 9AM. I'm starting to think I have just made the worst mistake of my life. My bladder suddenly kicks in. No bathrooms in sight. WhyDidIDoThis.png. The policemen who were guarding the doors close them and tell us nobody else can come in, only go out once they have finished whatever business they have. I've come this far with my own strength, there's no way I'm backing out now! Some more minutes pass by. I'm reading manga on my tablet in hopes of forgetting my bladder's cries for help. The stench of human sweat in this tiny enclosed space is excruciating. C0069 gets called. I internally chuckle and wonder why am I laughing at this when I'm 20 years old already. The ladies at the counter start speeding up, I guess everyone wants to have lunch. The numbers climb faster and faster, and as if a light descended upon me by the heavens, my number gets called. I am nervous, what if they reject my documents like the e-mails did? What if they start asking questions I can't answer? What if Salami just gets sent back after all this? The old lady who's talking to me asks to see the customs warning. I explain the situation once more, looking directly at her in hopes she will understand I merely want to get my figure and return to my normal life. "Ah okay. Well just fill out that declaration with the values you want and give it to me, kthnx". And not a single fuck was musttered by that office lady that day. I hand the declaration to her and she prints out the customs invoice so I can pick up my package. I can sense tears swelling up in the corners of my eyes. I will finally be able to touch her, after all this time everything will finally be worth it. I wait for the invoice line to go down and my turn is up once more, I hand out the invoice and get asked to pay about 23€ in fees. I barely even listen, I just nod and agree. I don't want to fight, I merely want to return from this hellhole and appreciate the life I've been given. The payment is complete, I wait for the lady to get my box. I see the box slowly approaching. I feel the cardboard with my fingertips, it's the sweetest sensation my fingers have felt this year. I forget everything that's happened up to that point in my life and open the exit door. It starts raining. I assure myself the world is just testing me, that this is just to see if I am worthy of having Salami. I bend down in order to cover the box as wel as I can and I run up the avenue in the pouring rain. The water drops feel like needles stabbing the back of my head, but I must stay strong in order to protect Salami. I see the subway up ahead. I don't stop to look at the red signs and cross the road, heading down the subway stairs. My coat is drenched and my feet are cold, but I keep going. The subway entrance feels like the entrace to the garden of eden, once I enter I can put everything behind me. This is what I initially thought, but I was soon brought back to the harsh reality of the fact this day just absolutely hates me, as I enter the subway to encounter a man playing the accordion. I don't use the subway a lot, but this never happened before. Today, the sole day I just want to get some rest after all the ordeals I've been through, there's a guy playing the accordion as loud as he possibly can next side me in the subway. My head feels like it's about to implode, I want to throw him out of the carriage, but I keep my calm as much as possible. The subway finally reaches the final station. I leave and feel my head ringing, but just a few more steps and I'll be able to get on a bus and head home. The bus comes, I think I might have actually teared a little. I sit Salami down on the seat next side me. I call my father and ask him if he can pick me up when I get home. Turns out today is the day my father starts his new job so there's nobody home to pick me up. My feet feel an itch, they've been walking for hours, yet the day is still not over. I get off the bus, my house is finally at a walking distance. I keep my pace up, holding Salami tight under my arm. The sunset looks beautiful, it's almost like everything that occured earlier never happened and I'm just able to enjoy this moment with the Salami I've been waiting for so much. I see my house in the distance. I can't feel my feet, but I keep going, those 3 hours of sleep are going to have to be enough to get me home, I won't fall down on a place like this. I reach the door and twist the key, I have never liked the scent of a building as much as I did at that moment. My body musters to bring out its leftover strength to reach my bedroom and open the package. The feelings rising up inside me are indiscribable. I remove all the foam peanuts, each one revealing more and more of the purple twintailed goddess. My body collapses on the bed, foam all around it. All of my body extremeties are numb, as is my mind. I can't think back on all the crazy stuff that has happened today. The blood, sweat and tears I have shed over this past month. The endless yelling at the customs office to get a brain and realize people can send gifts to each other without actually doing purchases you fucking dimwits. These insufferable 6 months of waiting feel like an instant as I lift my chin up and can, at last, lay my teary eyes upon my Salami. "Truly a best girl. 5/7" - IGN What did you do for your waifu today, fuwans? PS: Yes, this did happen today (on the 4th because fuwanovel.rip) PSS: That includes the accordion guy. PSSS: Yes, Portugal's customs office is that shitty.2 points

School Girls Stories Review
Deep Blue and one other reacted to starlessn1ght for a topic
NOTES BEFORE I BEGIN THIS: Although I left the forums, I decided to keep writing reviews here, because I liked it at lot last time. Also, I’m currently learning Japanese, but I’m still in an early stage. But this VN was very easy to be understood using Chiitrans, with ATLAS and the jparser, so even if your Japanese knowledge is limited you can play it. And, last but not least, I didn’t play the H-scenes, so you won’t find any comment about them in this review. WARNING: This review contains light common route spoilers. The other routes won’t be spoiled, since I assume most people here did not play this VN. The overall section will be left completely spoiler-free. “Kunimi Koutarou belongs to the literature club of his school with the goal of someday becoming a novelist. But there’s a type of story that he has never been able to write, which is a “romance story”. And that’s all because had a bad experience with first love when he was still young. Now with the coming of spring his own school and 2 other schools in the region will turn unified, bearing birth to new encounters. For Koutarou it means that he now has the unfortunate luck of sitting next in class to his first love Sena, as well his former best friend Ayane. Now his regular days suddenly turn into those like you would only see in romance novels…” Story (7.50/10) Characters (6.57/10) Art (8.10/10) Acting (8.06/10) Soundtrack (8.64/10) OVERALL SCORE = 7.8/10 Honestly, it’s very hard to describe how this work felt, but it’ll try to use metaphors to sum it up. It felt like eating a nice strawberry cupcake, it felt like a gentle stroll in the park, it felt like the smile of your loved one, and it felt like a cup of bitter coffee. Everything together. And it’s very good. The soundtrack and the art make it worth. Even if some routes are weak storywise (like Ayane’s), if I said I disliked them I would be lying. Because the art and the soundtrack together give flavor to what was supposed to be a flavorless dish. And yes, this is a moege and it’s better than Grisaia. I recommend it.2 points -

Hi everybody, Congrats! The fact that you're reading this means that the forums are online and you successfully made it back. While the data loss sucks pretty hardcore, I do have some good news for you all: After an ungodly amount of time, I believe that all of the following items are now complete. If I think of more that I did, I'll add them. The forums text editor should now be fixed (correct icons, correct places) and match what we used to have I went through each and every walkthrough and fixed the spoilers and formatting errors There is a new forums theme: Dashboard. I still need to tweak it so that it looks better on the forums index on a desktop PC, but it's another light theme (yes! I heard your cries and have come to support the few of you who haven't fallen in love with Temporal!). It looks pretty slick on phones and tablets, I think. I fixed the spoiler function. If a post still has those weird spoiler problems where it shows some content before you expand it, just "Edit" it and then save the changes -- I believe everything is set up so that it'll fix itself as long as you make and save an edit (you don't need to touch the spoiler, just click "Edit", then "Save", without touching anything) A ton of back-end fixes and optimizations Killed round avatars Buried the body of round avatars Dug up the body of round avatars and burned it Re-buried the ashes of round avatars Set fire to the ground above the ashes of round avatars Please post any feedback/questions/lamentations about these upgrades/changes in this thread. Looking forward to your bug reports.1 point -
this video explains it really well, how pure fan-service (in this case nukige) can actually be a beneficial thing for a company and also talks about piracy so it's a win win video to watch everyone has different opinions and tastes, but this novel is just crap speaking objectively and subjectively1 point

Confession: I was at shop few minutes ago, and I was giving out a filled paper for part-time job. The recipient was a cute girl, and, according to my father who was with me... she gave me a "flirty-look" when we were leaving (we first gave out the papers, then went to the actual shop and then left). If I knew that, I would at least look at her and smile L-Lewd...1 point -
As the title says and even though i've seen the top 5 threads, i'm making it a bit different here and hope it's to everyone's liking: Basically you have to pick : Favorite Heroine, Favorite MC, Favorite Ost or song from a Vn and then their counterparts which are Most hated heroine, most hated MC and least favorite Ost (If you have any) and i hope everyone has a lovely time making their choices ^^ ( and as a bonus if you're confident enough you guys can pick your favorite Vn aswell ^^) Favorite Heroine: Hinamori Kagome (Coμ) : I recently placed her second on a top five list but after thinking it a bit i came to realize just how much i love this girl overall, her attitude, desing, personality...EVERYTHING Favorite MC: Naoe Yamato ( Majikoi, Majikoi S and the A series) : To me he's extremely likeable although not the most badass but he fits right in Favorite OST or Song: I just love it, nothing else to say about it haha AND NOW THE COUNTERPARTS! Least Favorite Heroine: Aoi Isuzu (Hoshizora no Memoria): Pretty self explanatory, i won't go into detail... Least Favorite MC: Itou Makoto (School Days): Do you know him? if not well you're lucky, i just despise this dude completely.. And i don't really have a least favorite Ost or song but that's because i haven't read those many Vn's yet as to have found some that are bad or dislikeable overall... Well and that's my list, i'm eager to see everyone else's lists and learn more about vn's ^^ hope you like the idea and thread1 point

Start Hatsukoi 1/1 What files are in the append? It shouldn't be too hard to install and it should come with instructions.1 point -
That's unfortunate, as Yume Miru Kusuri is one of my favorites as well. Although, what I have come to discover in the anime/manga/VN world, is that people involved in creating such works are rarely consistent in their quality. Particularly in VNs it is tough, as Nukige sell so well, that writing it is the best way to put rice on the table. My understanding (from what Clephas has said before), is that writers and companies usually create several Nukige for every non-nukige they produce, as a way to hedge their bets. Hell apparently some fairly influential people worked on the likes of Boku no Pico. I think the person who did the music for Evangelion (or End of Eva) did the music for Boku no Pico. Even companies that are consistent (like KEY), bore me because they basically just rewrite the same story over and over again. So yeah, generally I don't use company name or author involvement as a way to predict if I will like a VN. Although there are exceptions. For instance the only reason I like LittleWitch is for their artwork, and they were pretty consistent in that area (but I think they don't exist anymore).1 point

Ahahaha! Thank you very much, ヤ... Err-- ヤミ... I'm sorry! What was your name again? Aha, how do you pronounce your name by the way? I'm very curious! You hit the nail on the head there with Katawa Shoujo! That was my very first visual novel I read back in college years ago, and regrettably I only finished Hanako's route because I was just so satisfied with her route that I didn't want to play the others any time soon because of it. I do plan to pick the game back up eventually though and complete the other routes, I recently got a friend to play it as he was interested in starting to read some VN's since I've been reading the one's I've bought on Steam recently. I'll pick KS back up once I've finished reading the new VN's I got last Christmas! It really was a beautiful game, that's why I recommended it to my friend, he's saving Hanako for last since I've already done that one and praised it so highly to him, aha!1 point -
erm... i would say saya (from saya no uta) in first place... i dont realy know why ,i thinks that's because saya is the perfect mix of cuteness, childish innocence and cruelty ,even if she is a monster and all that's stuff.( well,it might be weird but sometimes she remind me my girlfriend... (dont know if i must be scared or not :v ). it's also cause this vn was my first, and i realy loved the story, the way urobuchi completly get rid of any notion of manicheism ,the fact that it scare you not because the graphic and what theyre are doing is particularly horrible but because you feel disgusted of being able to enjoy what saya and fuminori are doing...also it's because it's the first "romance " story that was able to make me sad, i fellt terrible when i saw the endig. the others would be tojiko from kara no shoujo(even if i dont realy know what she look like), because she is hilarious sometimes ,can say stupid or clever things in the same conversation, completly out of the blue ,and she's endearing (correct me if i'm wrong in the way a said it... ) her murder was quite a shock :v ;makina from grisaia no kajitsu ( the two deifferents ends of her route were the best of the game in my opinion + she is totally spaced out ,saying things unrelated to the topics, falling alsleep in the middle of nowhere... ) saber from fate stay night (plus i realy liked her in fate zero,it's not the char herself who is important, but her fate ,trapped in a infinte loop, shearching for something she could never reach ,clinging to an ideal wich is in fact inexistent ,it bring almost to philosophical refelxion 'bout the notion of heroism) and ilya ,fate stay night to (well, she's the third loli in this reply, isn't it too much? ) o ... , her childish side is fun and touching, and remind me saya in a way...)1 point

That's the key word... it 'should' work. The thing is, whenever I ask this question, I get this answer. I'm not willing to go out and buy one of these and have it not work, lol. The whole point of this is 'can you use a card that doesn't have an associated name/personal information?' Several sites I know of don't accept cards that aren't owned/used by individuals named on the card itself. These are great because they don't require activation using personal information, which is what I don't want online, beyond the address to deliver my swag, lol. Edit: Incidentally, when I asked this same question of the Kickstarter help people, I never got an answer, even after asking it on four separate occasions (meaning I didn't get to support games I wanted to).1 point

A-Another one. Dont really have a hated OST, so I´ll just stick with protagonist and heroine. Alright, uhh just one, umm, ok favorite portagonist: Kazami Yuuji. Not much to say other than he is the best MC ever. Counterpart: Makoto from school days. Yeah, no one saw that coming Most loved heroine: Habane Kotori from Kono oozora, already explained her in one of the previous threads Counter part: Rika from Euphoria. UGH I hated that selfish little girl sometimes. Geez. Her selfishness in the games is seriously kind of scary at times. Screw Nemu, this chick is the true evil in Euphoria.1 point

Top 5 heroines you hated the most
CeruleanGamer reacted to Nosebleed for a topic
Tfw I liked Da Capo Nemu was kinda irritating, but not as much as Sakura. Also I really do feel like the rest of the heroines make Da Capo okay to play and not a bad experience. PS: Miharu best grill. Check shit taste if you think otherwise. And I still defend Shuffle as my first eroge experience. While I 100% agree Shuffle is essentially a trope cutout game, I also think it utilizes this pretty well with the characters doing what you'd expect them to do, even if ultimately it's not very original, I always felt like at the very least it wasn't unpleasant either. Think of Shuffle as gummy bears. Yeah they're not great, but if all other candy is stuff you've never tried and might give you a stomsch ache, at least they're there as a safe choice, a boring choice, but a safe choice.1 point -

Top 5 heroines you hated the most
Ariurotl reacted to CeruleanGamer for a topic
Hmmm top 5 hated this time? Challenge accepted! 1. Housen Elis (Canvas 2) - OH EM GEE! I SWEAR WHEN I SEE THIS GIRL IRL I WILL KICK HER FACE AND STOMP ON HER STOMACH UNTIL SHE DIES! Avoid her route at all costs when you decide to play Canvas 2. She gets jealous at everything that moves , acts all helpless like a baby, and clings to you like a leech.... It's like fucking cancer. Heck, I think a leech eventually stops once it sucks out enough of your blood, but Elis, this bitch will suck you dry and chew up on your withered skin. 2. Tsukumi Sango (Koisuru Natsu no Last Resort) - Funny because I tend to like my cute lolis and also pink haired heroines and combined in this 1 girl, I would be in heaven. Unfortunately, her personality especially her clinginess to Konami bumps her to my #2 most hated heroines. Like really Sango, Konami is beyond fucking help. When she got bullied but refuses help from anyone, you know this bitch is already fucking out of it. Stop trying so hard to help her before she drags you all the way down with her to hell. Anyways, thanks to the plot "armor" and Soutarou, everyone was saved but if this was real life, both her and Konami would be dead by now from suicide. 3. Himiko (Eiyuu Senki) - This girl is annoying. She immediately took the #3 most hated heroine spot right when I played Eiyuu Senki several weeks ago for the first 2 hours. This girl is so damn possessive and gets jealous way too easily and constantly bitches at Chihaya for hanging out with other girls. She is also very conceited for proclaiming herself as Chihaya's #1 wife, when clearly, it's Arthur. In battle, she's an LOL healer who loses effectiveness in mid/late game because her healing skills just can't keep people alive too long and you can't spam it as much as attacks. 4. Nepgear (Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2/Re;Birth2) - Please don't kill me Nepgear fans. I tried to like this girl but I started to hate her so much when she took away Nep-Nep's rightful spot as the heroine of the Neptunia games in mk2/Re;Birth2 and being a generic almost Mary Sue-like character with no personality. I was like, why the fuck did I buy this game? Neptune doesn't even show up until like the last quarter of the game! She kinda redeemed herself in Victory/Re;Birth3 for comic relief and usefulness in gameplay, but the damage has already been fucking done.... P.S. Conquest ending is the only good thing that ever happened in Hyperdimension Neptunia mk2/Re;Birth2. 5. Matsunaga Tsubame S version ONLY (Majikoi S, A-3) - Arghhhhh no, just no! Naoe Yamato is suppose to be the S and the lead. When you reverse roles, you take away all his great qualities. The whole perk of Majikoi is having a protagonist not as strong as the Majikoi girls but his "sword of Kusanagi" is capable of taming every one of them. That's what makes the whole vn great! M version Tsubame is still amazing though.1 point -
Why'd this show up in the 'Kotori' search results lmao #1. Ionasal.kkll.Preciel What started off as "Hurr-durr Ion's just another typical Nepgear nice girl but with amnesia" in Ciel Nosurge yippee-kay-yay dating sim plzlocalize damn KoeiTecmo slowly blossoms into love & utter respect by the time Ar Nosurge closes its curtains. She's completely loveable; you'll have many funtimes nuking entire battlefields with her song magic as you travel to save the universe, bonus points if you have her personality set to Sadistic (or Masochistic, if you swing that way instead). Her romance with Earthes is simply way too cute and outright hilarious with all of the trolling dialogue you can choose (with "I want to eat Ion" being my personal favorite), and her character just becomes so much deeper once you get to explore her Genometrics and listen to a few translated audio dramas regarding her backstory from pre-Ciel Nosurge. To this day I still don't even know which Ion I fell in love with. Jk I do, but the implications of the one I chose are real. Do yourself a favor if you ever get around to playing and finishing this series and go listen to the "The Day Ion Became Ion" audio dramas and you'll probably understand what I mean. /hype, it's really not that big of a deal : P But yeah, Ion's character, her story, everything just resonated with me so well she easily became my top favorite VN character of all time. She's also mentioned somewhere else as a top character, should probably go look for it... #2. Makise Kurisu My previous top favorite of all time before she so rudely got shoved aside by the (non-Tsundere!@#) Ion, Kurisu should be pretty self explanatory. Tsundere, check. That is all. Kurisu dominated headlines as soon as she popped up in Steins;Gate. Here we have this attractive female with an interesting brown coat fashion thingy getting her cheeks poked by some perverted(?) mad scientist who could've sworn he saw her dead body recently. She then goes on to give the Infodump of all infodumps with her lecture on Time Travel, easily solidfying her genius aspect and garnering my admiration, intimidation, and confusion as a result. Then she decides to mingle with Okabe's gang, Inb4 Celeb 17, Zombie, Tsundere-denials, and the ever-iconic Assistant : P She made for an excellent foil to the mad Hououin Kyouma's antics, this duo seriously have some of the best dynamics and banter ever. The defining point that made Kurisu a top character for me was when Okabe finally broke down and asked her for help midgame. She just calmly listened, accepting everything he said, and then came up with a plan. T'was a very emotional moment, made bittersweet by the fact that each time Okabe cancels a D-Mail his trusty assistant will have forgotten that she helped him, and this is made even more bittersweet by her acknowledging it. She also gave me a heartattack lategame, so bonus points for that. #3 Hisakaki Komomo The epitome of what a charamoege tsundere should be like, with an utterly adorable name to boot. Hoshizora no Memoria's Komomo objectively has the best route plotwise, romance wise, and everything wise. She plays into all of her tropes extremely well; she's self-sufficient, prideful, studious, and a commanding leader of the student council, able to bag on the protagonist by calling him Kogayou and only showing her legendary dere (it's truly one of the best deres ever) side to him when push really comes to shove. I mean when he picks her up. Also gains bonus points for the yummy interactions she has with her twin sister Kosame. #4. Kouzuki Kazuna Cartagra's a very long, dark tunnel. And Kazuna is NOT the light at the end of it, but rather she's the light scattered throughout the tunnel. What a fail metaphor. But yeah in the midst of all the somber dark crap going on in Cartagra with all the murders and whatnot, anytime Kazuna appeared on screen I would just forget that someone close to the protagonist died and all is well, because her personality is just too bubbly, energetic and perfect that it just melted away all of my worries. Her extremely likable affinity however can be a double edged sword, for if something bad were to ever happen to her... #5. Senri Akane I don't care what anyone says about Shizuru being the cutest or Lucia being the most dere or Chihaya Sakuya being the hottest or Kotori being the most adorkable, Akane is the star of Rewrite. She's the reason the common route even exists! As the witch of the school. she has it all- that smug, dominating personality, that seemingly-impossible-so-it-must-be-black-magic connections and resources, that uninhibited NEET FPS gamer lifestyle. Too bad she sucks at overclocking her gear. Btw, Ohh yes~ ~~~ WORST HEROINES Chiho Sorry, Chiho, I really tried to like you, I really really really really really really REALLY tried, but not even your status as a tsundere could make up for how abysmal you were, tragic, tragic TRAGIC. Makiba *Twitch* Aoi F*** YOU Who is 'his' top favorite VN character of all time? it was Aoi...1 point

To stop it, they decide to run against her... But who will they send out..? Yes, Yuuki is forced to run for the election... To save the club, he will just need to be the next president! Ending Guideline / Suggested Route Order There are five heroines: Chisato, Satsuki, Isara, Mifuyu, and Michiru First playthrough will always be Chisato route.
