The person who stole your PC is not a 4chan troll. He's likely a criminal trying to make a quick buck by selling the hardware. I wouldn't fret so much about the security risk. You could report a fraud alert to the credit report companies, and that will keep people from trying to take out new credit lines in your name without overly inconveniencing you. I do this anyway even with no reason to suspect fraud. If this was a laptop, then now you know you can't leave it unattended. Ever. If this was a desktop PC, then likely your residence has been broken into and other things stolen as well. Unfortunately, a determined criminal is difficult to stop. All you can do is try to be a little bit more secure than everyone around you and hope they target your neighbors instead.

Here's as simple as I can make it. This is my original character, Minako-chan (do not steal): I put many hours of effort into it. I even signed it to make sure people know it's mine. I completely came up with it myself using my own brain. However, one day I'm walking across the street and I see a magazine that's running this new battle manga whose protagonist is this girl called Konami-chan It's clearly based off of my original character since the lines used for the body pose are the exact same, but the magazine never asked me for permission to use my work as a foundation. That makes me and Minako-chan very sad And that's why tracing is bad in a nutshell.

I read Analogue: A Hate Story and loved it. Read Katawa Shoujo and was like, "meh". Read Ever17 and was like "this shit is pretty great." Read Clannad, had a lot of fun and really liked it.
