  3. It's been bothering me that Fuwanovel uses HTTP for the main website and all subdomains (including these forums) and immediately downgrades all secure connections to HTTP via a redirect (301). This is concerning because all requests such as logins, sending session cookies etc. are transmitted in plaintext, making it trivial for a man-in-the-middle attack to steal user credentials (and users tend to re-use those on multiple sites even though they should know better) or hijack sessions, they can read all messages and intercept or modify them at will, including sending the user to their own site while making it appear as fuwa (there are also many other good reasons to switch everything to HTTPS , but these are currently the most pressing issues). To prevent this, HTTPS should be enabled everywhere and should be enforced by enabling HSTS to avoid attacks such as those of sslstrip. (ignore the next paragraph if you already how to fix this issue and just haven't come around to do so yet - though at least the first part shouldn't take very long at all and the second isn't too bad either) One possible solution: Since Fuwanovel already uses Cloudflare, you can fix part of the connection very easily: Go to Cloudflare -> Crypto, set SSL to Flexible (should already be that way, really we want Full (strict), but that might involve more steps on your part, see below), and enable HSTS on all subdomains (hard to go back on, but you shouldn't ever want to go back on it anyways), you also might want to redirect everything to HTTPS one way or another. This fixes the issue for the connection between users and Cloudflare, however the connection between Cloudflare and your servers is still insecure, so make sure your web servers support HTTPS (might involve some tweaking of configurations or proxying in the worst case if your web server doesn't support it) and you have a valid certificate set up (certificates from Let's Encrypt are free and easily automatable, don't see a reason not to use them), then set the Cloudflare SSL setting to Full (strict). Now the connections between Cloudflare and your servers are secure as well. (You could optionally set up Authenticated Origin Pulls to make sure you're only responding to traffic coming through Cloudflare.)

  4. I have to say that this VN is amazing. Actually, this must be the first Clockup VN that I've truly enjoyed (I think Clockup is one of the most overrated companies out there, but that's another story). I'm a fan of forced sex in VNs, so, I planned to play it for fap purpose. In the end, I didn't fap to any scene because I was just so concentrated on what was going on in there and I was in awe seeing how amazingly well-written the eroge, specially the protagonist, was written. Sadly, we probably won't ever see Natasu no Kusari translated into English because of pure prejudice against this VN theme. That's such a shame, since that's precisely the same reason we probably won't ever see Boku no Kanojo wa Gatenkei... in English.

  5. This will be glorious. Of course, I don't mean the game itself. I mean the reactions of the Keyfags when they read it.

  8. Any recomendation? Something like Lamune, without "He/She returned after long absence." If possible with interesting character, without clumsy busty deredere or noisy loli. But if story is good, i don't mind. Btw, utsuge/nakige no-good. I want moeblob, where drama lasts not longer 30min 15min, or even better without it entirely. That idea. いつまでも、どこまでも…… Thanks in advance. With that criteria, kind of hard to find something good by yourself...

  9. That's great. Best route in Kanon was bittersweet like that.

  10. He make ends that don't have the traditional "And they lived happily ever after", like in Hatsusaku that So mostly people are pissed because all the happy moments that they live with the heroine ends in a bitter note, but i like that to break the perfect world of happiness of vn universe, i really like the end of Nagisa for exemple.

  11. It's not your fault I'm so sensitive. I guess I didn't make it clear enough how important a happy ending was. No problem, thanks for the warning about KC. I don't mind some drama provided there's a happy ending - otherwise there's no real emotional investment and a happy ending isn't as enjoyable without that investment. I can't stand over the top drama and unhappy endings. My real world has had far too much drama for my liking and I use anime and VNs to escape drama so I simply have a weak constitution for it. Thanks. I might skip it for now then.

  12. Kokoro Connect doubtlessly contains spoonfuls of drama. Nothing I couldn't tolerate, and I'm not exactly known for high tolerance, but it also had some romance. Not enough for me, truly, but my favourite pairing got together, so that carried it for me. Effectively, it can be said this anime doesn't contain an ending. It's... somewhat episodic: think arcs. And it ends right in the middle. Still, something about the concept really intrigued me. Looking back on it, I have no idea why. I distinctly remember disliking the drama, and disliking how certain characters acted, but my every impression of the show is that I "liked it a lot".

  14. That's not particularly unusual. There are many intelligent high school students out there, it's just they're only ever recognized by employers and college admission officers. My apologies though. I knew it had a very depressing outcome, but I thought the complexity of the characters would have been enough to carry your enjoyment. That seems to be far from the case this time. I did miss the part of your post where recommendations were suppose to have a happy ending, so that was complete negligence on my part. I suppose it would feel like I was understating the level of frustration one can feel towards the ending. I really didn't think it was that big of deal (at least not to me), but my brain tends to lean a little bit more toward the logical side than the emotional one, so my interest in the characters greatly exceeded my disappointment in the turnout. I don't think I met anyone who expressed much frustration with the ending either (might be because I didn't look hard enough). I'm not trying to justify my views over yours or anything like that, just explaining how I perceived it and the reason behind my choice of wording. I will try to be more careful next time. Oh and you might actually want to avoid Kokoro Connect. I don't have the faintest recollection of how it ended, so my guess is that it was probably incomplete. KC is more lighthearted than WA2, but still contains some not-so-insignificant drama. The romance may or may not make it worth watching. I'd recommend either waiting until you can stomach another tearjerker or just not watch it at all.

  15. Theres probably a similar topic out there but i just want to ask... On VNs with romance...how attached do you get to a heroine? I played a lot of VN and i never finished some because i felt...bad for going for another heroine. Examples would be...em...Isuzu from Hoshimemo...Maya from NobleW-....wait forget that one i was too excited for Masamune's route then Basically how attached did you get to a heroine (or hero i guess) in a visual novel?...like from "Meh, to the next" to "I.....I can't do it"

  19. Provided you're happy with Japanese untranslated, there's a couple of good osananajimis in Clover Day's that the MC grew up alongside (Tsubame and Izumi). And a few others in it that did do the absence for years and then came back (Hekiru and Hikaru). And a few step sisters that are effectively osananjimis too (Anri and Anzu). Let's face it, all the heroines in it are some kind of osananajimi. BTW, love the graphic. I'm with you, that's one of the best type of heroine routes ever, with a tinge of Tsundere is nice too.

  20. Lovesick puppies' Yuki is the best childhood friend character / route I have ever played, I'd definitely suggest that. Well its not something "unique" and dont have a very different story etc, but just that how those two understand each other, know wthat the other one thinks, feels etc felt simply amazing. It wasnt some classic "lol I'm gonna wake him up now and we will go to school together" type, you could actually see that how those years made them pretty much a perfect couple.

  21. Just as a correction. Gare(jei) translated Himawari together with Conjueror. You can read about the background of the project on Mangagamers blog, where both wrote a bit about Himawari. Links: Gare's post Conjueror's post

  22. Pure x Connect is what you looking for, through i don't personally like the osananajimi type of heroine, Sora is the best heroine an the best route of the game, the title have 0 drama and Sora deviate totally from the classics characteristics of her archetype. The non-High School scenario make the game better too. I'm reading in the moment W.L.O. looks a good game and Aina seems a good support character at least(i not read her route yet), but the game is a little weird (wtf history, wtf length), though this make some good comedy moments, it's worth giving a try if you have the next 50 hours free.

  23. This is likely going to be another 50 hour colossus, judging by the staff. That's a much more difficult game to do a simultaneous translation on than a short title like Harmonia. I would assume that a translation will come much later.

    JRPG with romance...

You played ALL THREE Agarest games? The patience on you must be godly. To be honest, though, practically all JRPGs have some romance that drags out for the entire game inserted into them. If you just want any type of romance regardless of it's quality you could pretty much just bring up a list of RPGs and throw your cursor any to find one. Tales is not a good idea if you want romance, because I can't think of a single one where characters actually end up together. You have like 40, even sometimes 60+ hours of travelling together, getting flags, speaking past eachother with innuendo, and they still don't even hold hands by the end. Granted, sometimes they can't help it because the MC's head got devoured by Cthulhu, but hey. I can say that for Vesperia, Abyss, Graces, Symphonia and Xillia 1+2 are not games you want to play if you want romance. Jesus, that JudeXMillia nonsense was still going on in Xillia 2 with no conclusion in sight. Why even bother? Tales is still a good franchise though. Xillia 2 is my personal favorite as I believe the characters developed wonderfully and they have the balls to do things that will hit you right in the feels. Emulators: Persona 3 and 4 are pretty good for romance, mostly because it stays out of the way of the story and it is not forced on you. 3 is probably a bit better for it, as it fits in with the ending more, but 4 is good as well. They do all act like they're keeping it secret from people, though. Xenogears has a great romance that is both integral to the plot, is fully realized and is treated maturely. Helps that Xenogears has a stellar storyline, possibly one of the best in JRPG history. Gameplay is whack, tho. Final Fantasy X has romance, but it's got a bittersweet ending. Growlanser is an underrated gem. I would avoid Growlanser 2, but 3 and 4 are more than worth your time if you ask me, with 4 being out and out the best we have available to us (JP releases may be better, who knows). Though you'll probably stay for the gameplay alone. Bear in mind that relationships are things you work on throughout the game with Growlanser. There is no canon love interest that will trot at your heels with stars in their eyes whenever they're out of your sight. Dragons Dogma! Though I don't know if you'll accept it as a JRPG considering Capcom often releases games targeted at the West. Sakura Wars 5 is the only Sakura Wars that has been localized to the west and it's stellar. It's very, IDK, Power Rangery and the MC is so lawful good it hurts, but the game's polish, dialogue and overall game design is brilliant. And, yes, the Romance in it is fantastic. And it has a legitimate black woman as one of the MCs. Never thought to see that from Japan. 'tis set in America tho, so, hey. Ar Tonelico has a ton of it. I dislike the story and the gameplay, though, so I can't say much about it. Odin Sphere? It's heavily Action and the RPG elements are quite western. Romance plastered all over it though. PC: Kamidori Alchemy Meister: This is one of the only ones I can even think of for PC. Final Fantasy X is also on PC. Just putting that out there. That's about all from me.

  35. I had the misfortune of playing Sora's route first. When I went to play the others, I was much less impressed than I was with hers. Sora was a great character, they had good chemistry, and the story was very interesting. (I still need to get the true ending in that game. Computer failures kept getting in my way.)

  36. Used a program called rainmeter, it is a program mostly for changing your desktop, set my desktop pic to that one, and installed a premade theme to my rainmeter, you can make some really cool shit with it. This one is an example of what you can do with it, do keep in mind that effects like the stars falling and the sound bars might have a impact on your computer's performance. With that theme my rainmeter was using 6% of my cpu, with my current one it uses not even 1%.
