  1. I'm starting to hate that new marketinig trend, when there are teasers to teasers to teasers. It isn't limited to games, BTW... SolPress - release Yotsunoha and Sakura Sakura first Some people are waiting for them, you know...

  2. I have now read through Princess Evangile W Happiness and of course that means that I have to do a review of it (which is hopefully at least somewhat good). Princess Evangile W Happiness is a fandisc to the original Princess Evangile and has an extra story of 2 chapters for each of the heroines as well as a 4 chapter long route for each of the 5 sub heroines. Other than that it includes the 13 first chapters of the main route in the original which means it can be played as a standalone VN, though I wouldn't recommend it since the extra stories for the main heroines won't make sense and you should just read the original first anyways. Also I would like to mention that you probably should read my review of Princess Evangile before reading this one. The extra stories to each of the main heroines I found to be really nice, I am not going to review each of them, but if you liked them during the main VN you probably aren't going to be disappointed. Ruriko's route was really nice. I must say I just love Ruriko's personallity, she manages to be quite funny with her absurd jokes and she just has some really fun character quircks that I find really adorable. As for her route, well I didn't find it to take any interesting direction, but it just had lots of good moments with her and that was generally the focus of her route, just her and the main character being together. Konomi's route was also really good in my opinion. There are some really great comedic moments due to her personallity and I would say that this route was probably the most funny out of all of the character routes in Princess Evangile W Happiness. Other than that the relationship between her and the main character was built up really nicely in a way that really fit Konami. Mitsuki's route was something I didn't really have high expectations for, I generally found her to be quite annoying in the common route as well as the other character routes, however I was quite pleasantly surprised. Her route did a really good job in terms of rommance and there were some good romantic lines between her and the main characters, something which I felt the other routes didn't do quite as well. I remember really liking it when I played through her route, though in the end she is not quite up there with Rise (who she constantly compares herself to). While it did do a good job with the rommance it didn't really have that much else going on though, at least after the first part, so ye it felt quite uneventful. Marika's route was a route that I would say is okay. It was a pleasant read though I didn't feel like it did anything especially well. One of my main problems with her route is that I just found her personality to be really boring, in her route the best comedic moments came from other characters and those were quite rare. Her route also just felt like it was lacking in terms of the story. So it was pretty much like Mitsuki's route just without the well done rommance and with a character who is quite boring. While I am sounding quite harsh at the moment I need to repeat that I still felt that it was a somewhat pleasant read even though it felt lacking compared to the other routes. Lastly there is Tamie's route. While not as funny in my opinion as Konomi's route it is a good second. Tamie is really wonderful and her jokes and teasing is quite endearing. What I think stands out the most about this route is how energetic it feels since Tamie just filled to the brim with energy. Her route started in a rather surprising way though it lead to some really nice sweet and funny moments. After the first part they did a really cliche thing to move the story forward, this specific cliche is something that I generally don't like, though I felt like they did a good job using it and in the end I don't really feel like I can view it as a negative that they used it. As for the later parts of it, well Tamie kind of mellows a bit out, though not to the point where she feels boring or lacking in her usual energy, just that it is a bit dialed down. As for my opinion of this fandisc as a whole I would like to start by saying that I think that if you liked the original Princess Evangile you should definitly pick it up. Each of the original heroines had nice extra chapters which both provided more nice moments with them as well as just being nice conclusions to their stories. The other heroines all had nice routes, with the exeption of Marika which felt kind of lack luster compared to the rest of the VN. A disadvantage the fandisc has compared to the main VN is that the routes are rather short, 4 chapters compared to the 10 chapers the heroines in the main VN have. While this does mean that each route has less of an impact on the person reading it, I still felt that they did a really good job using those 4 chapters. The routes in the fandisc manages to build the relationships really well through pretty much focusing on the heroine of the route exclusively. A drawback this has though is that the routes can't really have larger story moments like they did at the end of the routes in the original. I would also like to comment on the sex scenes, the sex scenes both in the original and the fandisc are really sweet and quite vanilla (disregarding that some of it takes place in rather risque locations) and I feel like it really works well with the sweet rommances that are built with each heroine, a problem with the scenes though is that they are just too long. It feels like the sex scenes in general should be shortened by quite a lot, preferably by replacing some of the lines that can be found in pretty much all vanilla sex scenes in VNs. Well I would like to end the review by mentioning that it also has some nice referances to Imouto Paradise (a VN I will do a review of in the future, once I have revisited parts of it), personally I found this to be really fun. The front of the physical edition The back of the physical edition Here is the inside of the physical edition including the disc As for my review of the physical edition, well I would say it is just pretty okay. It is just a standard DVD case and doesn't really include anything other than the steamkey and the cover being reversible which is a standard for physical editions by Mangagamer. To my knowledge the steam edition is just a censored version of the full VN, though you can patch it. While this is a nice bonus for those who want to have it both digitally and on disc I don't feel like it is as good of a bonus as the original which has replacement scenes for the sex scenes meaning you get extra content with the steam edition. As for the cover I find it to be quite nice with all of the 9 characters on the cover wihtout anyone of them being pushed too far into the background. The back of the case is pretty plain though it at least gives information about the VN. The reversible cover as I mentioned I think is quite lovely though it isn't really something that work that well as the cover since it is just one large drawing that would then be unnaturally split in two.

  3. Okay, I do this to help you. https://megaupload.nz/NcLb89gcb5/Maitetsu_Steam_External_Patch.rar When you apply this patch the folder "Patch" will act like a patch.xp3, just put your patched files inside this directory and the game will read it.

  8. All I'm left wondering is how many Lavi's are running about now, considering she is the one who has to reset the timeline whenever the protag dates a girl that isn't Alice. The reason why that's all I'm left wondering, is because Newton has some really nice bookends. The plot kind of wraps itself up quite nicely, with a sad note to end. (ps: continue+ is dumb af lol) Overall rating on Newton and the rapple tree: 10/10 mixtape

  16. I've reached the last route or "Saga" (as the VN calls is) of Cho Dengeki Stryker. As long as the writers don't mess that one up horribly the VN is a pretty fun read. It's really good at mocking many of the tropes you would expect from a superhero vs. evil empire story aimed at children like the villains and protagonist living next door without recognizing each other in their civilian outfits. But it still manages to always take its characters serious enough to keep the reader engaged. The story gets darker than I expected (the whole Mirror thing is pretty messed up) which really helps the VN imo because this way it feels like there really is something at stake and it shakes up the black/white morals you often get in these kinds of stories. The only real weakness imo was Haruna's character because she is too one-dimensional and stereotypical for her importance to the overall plot, which weakens the impact of some of the more emotional scenes.

  18. 08/27 - COMPLETE PATCH released! Mosaic removed from all scenes! !! COMPLETE PATCH !! Maitetsu 18+ Demosaic Patch - v0.9a.7z Installation guide: - if you have downloaded the daily patch - patch3.xp3 just manually delete it ( you don't need it anymore because its already inside the Maitetsu 18+ Demosaic Patch - v0.9a.7z ) Q: "Why V0.9a? When it's complete" A: "The v1.0 slot is reserved for the install wizard with additional content/mods/etc, and the 'a' in '(v0.9) a' stands for alpha, because the patch stills needs polishing, like redrawing the first released scenes" Want to support the project?

  19. I just finished One ~Kagayaku Kisetsu e~ Not perfect, but not bad. This VN feels a bit unpolished, like a demo record of a band It presents many ideas that will be further developed in KEY games (like Dream World, the power of promises etc). It can also be considered team's first attempt at establishing their nakige formula. It didn't fully succeed, but the seeds were sown. The start however wasn't great. Common route was fun, but then I started with Nagamori's route, full of high hopes, as I have soft spot for osananajimi heroines. However, this route wasn't very good - I really disliked the protag's behaviour in it OTOH maybe starting with this route was good idea to have it out of the way in the beginning BTW Nagamori herself is good, she just got bad route. Then I read Misaki's and Mio's routes - and they're easily two best girls in this game for me . Their interactions also are pretty amusing, as Misaki is blind, while Mio is mute but somehow they manage to get along well - with a help of Kouhei of course. (BTW I wonder if Katawa Shoujo writers have read "One" ) Misaki's route was first that made me shed some tears. Mio's too. Next was kuudere Akane. Her route was interesting, and it was really heartwarming to watch how near the end she warmed up to Kouhei. Also, Akane's route is special as Here there were many feels again near the ending. After that I read Nanase - she is the game's tsundere. The route was nice, and Nanase herself turned out to be very likeable. It seems that I generally like tsundere heroines in VNs too. This route was more lighthearted than the previous ones. And Nanase in deredere mode is sweeet Then there's little Mayu. Some say that this route is weak, but I liked it too. Nice tale about growing up. However, here (as well as in Nagamori's route) h-scene felt out of place and unnecessary - so, you may say, standard KEY quailty But, surprisingly, scenes in remaining four routes were actually not bad. They were kept rather short (except for somewhat longer Nanase's), and without explicitly describing each move using ton of onomatopeic sounds. Instead, the writing was focused more at the bond between the characters (as that's actually the plot purpose of all these scenes, see spoiler tag below). Hidden Hikami's mini route serves more as a description of world mechanics (however, after finishing some routes, and also getting some bad endings, you can figure most of it on your own). As I mentioned previously, game feels somewhat unpolished - it shows that it was first of its kind for the team. Sometimes the story makes too sudden jumps. But still overally it was enjoyable read. I got used to the graphics after a while, but they aren't that great. It looks like a transitional work between earlier pixel-art style, and modern one. The backgrounds especially feel lacking, with few details and overuse of gradients. Character sprites are okay (that is, as long as you're used to the Hinoue Itaru's style) but ancient game engine, that doesn't have any kind of smoothing, makes the sprite's edges look overly pixellated. CGs are mostly looking good. Music was nice too. Download edition of the game can be still bought at getchu. Then you can apply translation patch. Translation quality is decent, and there weren't many typos or other glaring errors. To sum it up - little rough over the edges, but nevertheless enjoyable experience. Check it out if you want to see the birth of the classic Key's formula. 7.5/10 Now I think I'll try YU-NO.

  20. Well, not what you expect but here and there will be adding modifications in the polishing phase can't tell for sure when it is going to be done. You are going to have options (outside the game... for inside the game don't know how to make it possible ) through an install wizard. It will be mostly minor modifications like alternative clothing options, nothing major!, maybe (but just maybe) pubic hair off/on, i still need to learn how to draw hair. So for example: "Makura, why are you walking around in a micro bikini, lol!"

  21. Could you possibly make me like you any more ? CD+ is my all time favourite Moe/Charage and I regularly go back to um 'relive scenes.' You would be most welcome to decensor though I'll be much more critical checking every scene very carefully

  22. Is Corona an emote engine game? Well It would be on high on my list just because the first isn't censored and I could look from the other two how it should be like, like a dirty copy cat , lol But it is a steam release and I don't know how to edit Steam files. Still having problem with Maitetsu's steam version, cant look into it until the final version of demosaic patch. It is an Emote Engine Game +, Full in English +, Motivation + ( It looks promising but didn't played it myself , but I feel It is a great game hehe ), No other team took the project +, BUT it is a Steam release T_T, still don't know how to edit the steam files without breaking the whole game.... Plz if you know someone that Translated a Steam game ( which I think is impossible because all steam games are in english, lol ), or heavy edit the files in steam without breaking the game ( heliosaurus steam patch did a little editing and didn't break the TOS, but heliosaurus tried the same with my demosaic patch and broke the game black screen and etc, but cant annoy him right now to check further), I would gladly take this project As for now, Clover days plus seems the winner. It got all the + from Nekopara and it isn't a steam release. And it seems the translation is at the end. If no other artist took the decensoring I would gladly take it as the next project. I love RPGs, just looked at the art it looks great. But for now I would skip any non E-mote engine game. I mean I am playing it safe. I am still learning at drawing and in emote it is a little bit easier to edit because you don't have to redraw cum and fluids because in emote everything is like an 'texture' or parts of an image. In emote they just censor the genitals, you have to redraw only that part. So it is a little bit easier. As I see in Bunny Black they censor everything inside and outside the genitals but in Kamidori the fluids are intact... So as for know I think I would go first with Kamidori ( when I gain much XP ) then maybe Bunny Black.... Can't promise but I will have on my mind, cause the plan is: "every english translated game should be without mosaics"

    VN List: Kamige

This is a list of VNs that go above and beyond, where everything just comes together in an ideal fashion to create a superb VN. I'm listing those I've played, regardless of my personal tastes. Unlike the non-Ero list and some of my other lists, I won't be taking input for this from anyone who has played less than a hundred non-nukige VNs (make sure your vndb is updated, if you want to add to the list, lol). I know that sounds arrogant, but there really isn't any way a newcomer can judge on this issue. Not all of these VNs have aged well, and there is no such thing as a VN without issues, so I know for a fact that some people will disagree with me.
