  1. So, the recent release of The Sekimeiya: Spun Glass went pretty unnoticed so far, but currently seems to get some attention thanks to a comment on VNDB. It actually has a rating above 8.5 with over 60 votes there, which is unusually high for an OELVN. There aren't even that many JVN's that high. It's a scifi mystery thriller that actually looks pretty professional. It uses NVL style, which I personally don't like that much, but if the story is good it might not matter that much. So, for everyone who isn't already jumping on Muramasa and looking more for a SciFi mystery VN in the spirit of the infinity series titles like Ever 17, this might actually be worth a look. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1432500/The_Sekimeiya_Spun_Glass/?utm_source=vndb

  2. Okay, it isn't "main" Yuzusoft, but still... PARQUET Steam description: The game is available on Steam in Japanese, English and Chinese. English translation is made by NekoNyan.

  3. I'm currently swamped with other stuff (one of them being Muramasa) so I've had to put this off for the moment, but I'm definitely giving it a read later on. I love Yuzusoft, and the fact that this is their (afaik) first all ages title only makes me more interested.

  4. Ace Academy. One heroine is low-key in relationship with protagonist's friend from the beginning, two others are either shown or implied to find someone if you don't choose them. A flawed game for sure, but it's still something I really love about it – the protagonist not being the center of the world and heroines having their own lives that go on if you don't go after them (or fail the romance arc).

  5. I bought some adult editions of VNs from amazon.jp as well - no problem there. It's just that for some reasons they refuse to ship some products - but that applies both to all-ages and adult versions, and seems pretty random. As for online shops and digital versions - I have bought them from DLSite and getchu, but had no luck with DMM.

  6. I find a lot of EVN romance goes 0 to 60 in 3.5. Like, they'll have a few normal, mundane conversations and then suddenly *BAM* they're soulmates. I realize the EVN scene is relatively young and as such tends towards shorter script lengths, and so the real estate available to develop a romance is limited. Even so, I think it's very doable to have a short but well-paced romance arc. But there's gotta actually be an arc, not this spike in the graph thing.
