  1. Disclaimer: I am not personally involved in this project. I am just posting this progress update to inform the masses and get the project the acknowledgement and recognition it deserves, since this project has been flying under the radar for such a long time. The Translation phase of the Ciel Nosurge Offline fan translation patch project is now finally 100% complete (as of last week)! Sooooo if you guys haven't known by now, there has been a fan translation project underway for Ciel Nosurge Offline during the past several years, with significant progress on it being made during 2020-2021. For context, Ciel Nosurge takes place in the same universe as the Ar tonelico series but is not considered a sequel to it since it takes place way before the events of the series. Though Ciel Nosurge ended up not being officially released in the West, however, for some reason, its sequel, Ar Nosurge, did. I am aware of Surge Concerto DX, which released in Japan earlier this year, though unfortunately, I have little to no confidence we will get any Western localizations of it so this is probably the best bet for playing a fully translated version of Ciel Nosurge. Anyway, I am hopeful we can get the patch release within the next year if not in the next few months, depending on how the editing and testing phases progresses. For anyone interested in the Ar tonelico series, the Ar tonelico II fan retranslation patch is a thing, if you guys want to check it out!

  2. The October 2021 version of Visual Novel Monthly Recap is out. Lots of interesting announcements including a brand new released Japanese VN, an open beta, more surprise Shiravune releases, few moeges releases, and a company closure.

    Just saying Hi !

Hey there, I discovered the world of VNs about 2 years ago with Making Lovers, that I really enjoyed. Since then I've read quite a few more (not that many, but around 20 of them), enjoyed most of them, dropped a few others. I first discovered Funanowel for the route guides. Because contrary to Making Lovers which was really simple to understand, I have happened upon a few odd endings in other games, and restarting the game didn't feel satisfactory when there weren't a "skip to next choice" button. And just today I wanted to install Pure X Connect, but despite having installation instructions in English, the game itself was in Japanese. And while I've been discovering the language, I'm nowhere near enough of speaking it, and even less reading it, that I could even try to read it without translation. So I finally, through my search engine, found that people here were working on translations, and I just wanted to say "hi" and tell them that if they find the motivation and dedication to complete their work, I'd be quite grateful. Aaaand, that's it ! We might meet again in the different threads. See you !

  4. Same. I was a quite hyped for a VN which everyone either hates it or puts it on the pedestal of a legendary VN with god-tier writing on the level of the greats of the literary canon. It turned out... well not as great as expected. Is it a kamige? Not to me. Is it worth playing? Definitely yes. I'll give it an 8/10. Just don't expect any catharsis in any of the routes, except maybe the Demon route. Disclaimer: The English version is obviously very different from the Japanese version which is almost universally praised. However... it probably doesn't matter too much. Also the H is terrible. They are short and all very disturbing - even discounting the rape scenes, the pure love "vanilla" ones are equally disturbing.

  5. Well there're Sora from Yosuga no Sora and Kazusa from Hitotsuba. Other than that, there're Hare from Sugar Style and Renna from Tsujidou. I hope that my recommendations here will be helpful to you. PS - I know that Yosuga no Sora translation work here is still unfinished, although since there's a patch that translate all of the scenes (Still unedited though) you can already read the VN if you interested.

  6. Just have in mind it's not a moege, it's a mystery story-driven VN. But I think the main antagonist will please you

  7. Really surprised no one mentioned Karen from Making Lovers yet Easily one of the most universally liked moege tsunderes out there

  8. Forgotten childhood promises are pretty standard in VN's tbh. Usually picked up again in the particular route. Here they just seemed to drop the ball on this stuff making it seem very pointless.

    What are you playing?

Moege reports: Koikari is incredibly entertaining. That's it. It's not high art and it's not deep, nor world changing. But regardless, I cannot stop reading through at breakneck speed. Oh and the nonstop meme-barrage from the other localized ASaproject title, Suki to Suki is not in this one, which I personally appreciate. Primals Hearts 2 is even better than the first game. And as weird as it seems to see sequels in the medium, what is even weirder is that 2 directly references the events of 1. Like a real sequel. Very raunchy, but also pretty funny. Study ยง Steady is still a broken piece of shit. Don't buy it if you own an AMD card, the VN will not work and crash every 10 or so lines. Shame, because the Art is the most fantastic thing I have ever seen.
