If we talk about artists they can get faster with experience. However do they want to be faster? I feel like that many artists want to challenge themselves and aim for the best quality everytime even though very few other people can even spot the difference in the end product and would be totally happy with something done a lot faster. Imo a good artist can find a balance between speed and the effort (quality) put into work.

What is relevant for me is that they didn't use MTL but actually paid money for someone(s) to translate it and trusted them. It doesn't matter for the customers true but it matters for me that this was not just some quick cashgrab try.

One thing in Japan is that majority of yuri fans still consists of males (opposed to West's female/LGBT/QUEER/what do you call these people nowadays). Males usually need a self-insert character for the porn while females generally don't. The reason why OELVN market is full of "yuri/lesbian games" whatever is thanks to the high amount of QUEER people making them that doesn't really exist in Japan.

I'm not sure if delaying a game that is release ready for something like 6 months is too healthy for a small VN company. It's not like they can't release the game later on Steam when they finally get the permission. Do you think that if they put the game on something like GoG for example and then months later on Steam, it would bring them less total sales than if they just release it on Steam. Of course more shops means more sales but what I meant that Steam doesn't have any magical power that makes people buy the game from there any more than from any other shop assuming they are regular customers for both.
