VN Reading Club - October 2015 (Symphonic Rain)
Redpanda replied to Kosakyun's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Since you can leave anytime you want, I've decided to join as long as a vn I never played gets selected which in this poll is everyone of them except for G-Senjou. I like that vn which introduced me to the term 'Stockholm syndrome' but I wouldn't go out of my way to replay it again now. -
VN Reading Club - October 2015 (Symphonic Rain)

I've never experienced these types of club events and activities and I want to give legit feedback instead of just making things up so... No worries, I'll post some in the end of this month or whenever this finishes. -
VN Reading Club - October 2015 (Symphonic Rain)

What special privileges and requirements do I need for unknown(?) endorsers to approve my membership in this transcendental club? If possible, I would like to participate for current and all the upcoming months until I go off grid/get a life. -
SAO getting a movie .__. I don't know what my reaction should be. Whether to be happy that sao fans would get more of the same stuff or just be sad and angry about how capitalism turns human beings into faceless commodities whose only purpose, as viewed by the entrepreneurs, is to generate more profit for them in every possible way inside or outside of metric realms. Each of us now only viewed as 'resources', are dangerously influencing fellow sentient blob of meats into participating on this huge brainwashing program designed by or usually called economy where the 'resources' are just lifeless slaves naturally inclined to work to death metaphorically while the owners or the people with true power and liberty just agonize themselves to death about how to make more money as they become more of an entity than an identity with each profit gained proving my theory again that no one really wins at the end so be sure to watch Fight Club and think of it as a 2.31667 hours of clusterfuck processed on some colour print films only to realize later from all the countless dissected and analysed reviews of it that it actually is a critic of psychological warfare disguised as our modern economy and only three options are presented to us by our logical minds after realizing that. To blow up all those conglomerates like in the movie but on a much larger scale digitally and physically. To watch SAO movie. Or...to just sit around reading and realizing stuffs on the net and do weird things like me...

I'll just go on with my preconceived notion/prejudiced critical thinking/simple conjecture that this getting a trilogy means a bad thing for us hardcore(whiny) fans who only wants quality as opposed to quantity.....or a mix of both....or I don't know. Depends on what you would consider quality... In other words, shaft milking as always. You know, this 'trilogy trend' getting rife on almost all platforms of storytelling from books to movies to games to serials produced by all the wannabe artists and generic corporate guys is actually a positive thing for slightly-more-intellectual-than-the-average consumers who ignores the return on investment values and just wants something unique and cathartic breaking conventions or just being promethean? According to a reddit thread, the media conglomerates first noticed this norm to be profitable when th-

The thing which will doom mankind is...
Redpanda replied to Darklord Rooke's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
"Perhaps they all blow themselves up soon after they discover that E=mc2. If civilizations take billions of years to evolve, only to vanish virtually overnight, then sadly we've next to no chance of hearing from them." It doesn't directly tells us how the equation starts it all but the innuendos are present. I don't remember exactly if it was from a book or an article by Stephen Hawking but yes, he seemed to have made some kind of connection thus my original post. Never went into reading the details I'm afraid. 'They' are referred to alien civilization btw. -
The thing which will doom mankind is...

Well, I read that the equation had many profound implications (chief among them being that matter and energy are the same stuff). So no surprise in seeing how our concepts about it differed so much. I guess it's my mistake to have not worded it properly. The equation helps in illustrating the energy released in an atomic reaction is all. Not make bombs out of it. You clearly seem to know your stuff. I could argue more about how much Einstein's equation was an important contribution in nuclear physics long before Rutherford and Bohr with the help of a Stephen Hawking book but your post has convinced me otherwise. I find myself agreeing with your points. Well done. -
The thing which will doom mankind is...
Redpanda replied to Darklord Rooke's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
E = mc2 (energy = mass times the speed of light squared) is the expression of the statement made by Einstein that a large amount of energy can be released from a small amount of matter. A-bombs illustrates this fundamental principle without fail. And yes, Einstein's biggest role in the invention of the atomic bomb was just signing a letter written by Leo Szilard to Roosevelt urging to build the bomb in the fear that Germany might have been working on an atomic bomb long before. That famous equation started the whole process. It was the initiation that gave birth to the atom bomb even if not directly related. This is what I mean when I say mankind was doomed for self-annihilation ever since we found E = mc2. We were already trapped in a Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb scenario ever since Einstein published that equation in his paper "Does the Inertia of a Body Depend Upon its Energy Content?" in 1905. -
