I had a pretty christian upbringing, went to Sunday school, hated it, learned about Jesus and all that and was pretty firmly believing until I was around 16 when I started questioning everything about anything. I would consider myself atheist now, I don't believe in almost anything, not even the things I want to believe in. I do think religion is unnecessary but the day religion is gone something will replace it, people are lazy and don't want to research other viewpoints and opinions.

I don't know about masterpieces, all the VNs I have read have always had some pretty subpar element or aspect, but Katawa Shoujo does what it does pretty damn well in a manner I haven't come across in anything else so far.

It does make the other endings useless. True endings should not be a thing in romantic visual novels, and probably not in anything with choices. It's like they just went "Hey, we wanna give the players some choices to choose their own approach, but then we also want to throw that out of the window and say fuck them, that's not how it really is."
