Favorite BGM/soundtrack of a Visual Novel
Fred the Barber replied to Exult's topic in Visual Novel Talk
At least you're consistent. -
Exposition can come from anywhere, I won't rate a route highly just because it had an interesting bit of information or two contained within. The actual meat and potatoes of the route are pretty far below par. Regarding villains:

10/10 - Aniki always looks good, and always looks like Aniki, even if he rates my poor sandbag avatar low.

Confession: I fell head over heels for the receptionist at my eye exam today, and completely failed to do anything about it. I cannot recall ever meeting such a vivacious person: talking about the equipment, and the science behind it; showing me all the readings (I have now seen a digital scan of the interior of my eyeball! So cool!); and chatting about the things to do in the area. I can't put it into words well at all, but I just don't meet many people who feel that much, or at least who are so willing to express it. I was bowled over. I'm seriously considering finding some excuse to go back there so I can make a horrifyingly clumsy attempt at asking her out. So, basically, the above

9/10. Dat expression of gazing into the distance with a vague longing.

False, I think? I guess I don't really have much experience, but I like to think I'd be good at it. Next person has a crush.

This nails pretty much the biggest problem I have - being single makes it harder to just go out and do fun things. I have friends, of course, but none close enough that I can just go do any random thing with them at any time. I really want someone like that: a relationship where when one of us sees something that looks like fun, we just naturally call up each other and go do it. Doesn't have to be a romantic partner - I'd be delighted with a "best friend"-type relationship. Unfortunately, the only person I have who matches that description moved out to the opposite coast of the US from me a couple years ago... From personal experience, I think this is something you can change about yourself, if you really want to (though to be clear, I'm not intending to imply that you do want to change that about yourself, or even that you should; whatever works for you, right?). Back in high school especially, I was a very cynical person, and somewhat combative/confrontational (I'd argue about pointless things at the drop of a hat). That attitude decreased a bit during college, as I became more comfortable with myself and the people around me, though it was still there. At this point, it's basically gone. I just... mellowed out, over time, I guess. I don't know exactly why, though I am glad it happened. I do recall at one point thinking to myself that I was no longer especially interested in irony or sarcasm - I'm a very sincere person these days. It doesn't sound surprising when put this way, but things are frankly a lot easier when you don't go out of your way to be mean to people, and when you are really honest with yourself and others. It's nice. And... that was way too sappy. Have an image:

Well, yes, but the costumes are paid DLC. Paid. Not coming with the game. Not free. I'm still on the fence about the game. I'm sure as hell not buying Yosuke cross-dressing DLC. Is anybody? That's not really a rhetorical question. Will anybody, anywhere actually buy this? It seems pretty much certain that they won't make as much money as it cost them to make it, at the very least...

Fairy Tail and Naruto are about the only Shonen I enjoy, and even with those I can only watch so much before I'd rather be watching something more feels-oriented. I've never really given One Piece a fair chance, though, but I don't think I can sign myself up for something with that ridiculous an episode count, especially when I still have dozens of short shows which have a much more chance of being to my taste waiting in the wings. It's a simple cost-benefit analysis. Shonen isn't for everybody, and even setting that aside, I just don't have the time to watch everything I'd like to (even if I do inexplicably make the time to read and post regularly on Fuwa )

Ok, I'll bite. What's so bad about Chihaya's route? Maybe it wasn't my favorite, but it laid a lot of important backstory groundwork*, completely fleshed out a great character*, and had a more satisfying ending than Kotori's route* (biggest disappointment of the game, given that Kotori is obviously best girl). *

The two best routes in Rewrite are the ones you only unlock after completing all the others, so... yeah, I'd pretty strongly recommend doing all of them. Also, not sure why you seem to expect H content - Rewrite is All Ages only.

I'm a slow VN reader to begin with, and I don't have a lot of spare time, so I've only just finished Heroine 2's route. So, I appreciate that everybody is still putting spoiler tags on everything spoilerish, so I can still wander in and out of this topic fairly safely. Here are my thoughts about Heroine 2's route: Also, a special shout out to the soundtrack song "Find a Way Out!" (the high-tension, oh-shit-run-away one with the really repetitive synth string high notes), for which I could not find a youtube link to save my life. I like this song more every time I hear it. The BGM in this game is truly excellent.

False. Though I really might lie about that if I did... But I seriously don't. Next person hasn't replaced a lightbulb in the last year.

Still working my way through Comyu. Finished Heroine 1 Route a few days ago, most of the way through Heroine 2 Route. Thoroughly enjoying it so far - I like that the main character gets a sprite which we see a lot (at least in the early stages), and I like that he has a personality. I don't especially like his personality, to be honest, but the mere fact that he has one puts him way beyond a lot of bad main characters. Heroines and supporting cast are all very likeable - my favorite character might actually be Izawa, so far, purely based on attitude and sheer competency, but I expect Kagome will supplant him once I see her route.

What Video Games Are You Playing Right Now?
Fred the Barber replied to solidbatman's topic in Gaming Talk
Meanwhile, on the other end of gaming seriousness, I finally moved on to the next game in my portable backlog: Theatrhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call. Playing this game feels a little bit like they talked to me, personally, at great length, and said "Ok, we're going to make a game for Fred the Barber. Specifically. Probably everybody else would hate it, and almost nobody will buy it, but this is for Fred." Anyway, it's not the best-made game of all time, and certainly not the prettiest, but all the gameplay elements are right up my alley, so I'm having a blast. I moved up from the first difficulty level to the second after the intro songs, but it seems I still need a bit more practice (getting my brain used to the UI) before I can move up to the top difficulty level. It's extremely gratifying to be playing a game that rewards me for intimate familiarity with Final Fantasy music. -
I'll definitely be playing Destiny tomorrow, though I don't play it all that seriously (only done a couple of raids, because raiding is a pain). I'd offer to join you, but I'm on the X-Bone. I'm looking forward to it quite a lot, though - I played a bunch over the past week to get back into the groove a little bit and to build up resources for the release (I have a nice little pile of engrams, marks, and completed bounties)

Closest I have is a high school friend. Given that a lot of you are in high school, I'm guessing that doesn't count, so, false. Next person needs a haircut.

Confession: I was moderately upset when the mint chocolate chip ice cream I bought wasn't green, even though there's no rational explanation for why mint chocolate chip ice cream should be green.
