  1. Wait, wait, wait. Hold the phone. The Persona 4 fox was female, in your mind? I had always been thinking of it as male, but not for any particular reason (I guess aside from the inherent bias from being male). For what it's worth, the Megami Tensei Wiki apparently doesn't make any call, consistently referring to the fox as "it". Granted, it's got a heart-covered red bandana thing (where I definitely didn't notice the hearts until I looked it up just now), but that could have come from anywhere; maybe it's a metrosexual fox. At any rate, regarding the advice not to sweat losing a day or two: while that's fair, it causes me stress to knowingly be sub-optimal, so I always tried to clear the dungeons in a single day. But if you're not crazy like me (in that regard, at least) and that doesn't bother you, then yeah, it's no big deal to lose a day here or there.
  2. False. Followers are earned, not begged for Next person is a radical dreamer
  3. False, I prefer to use a giant, 5 foot by 5 foot notebook. It's tough to carry around, but the comedic value makes it worth it. Next person is bad at reading the atmosphere.
  4. While you will definitely need to farm, you should generally be able to clear any given dungeon in one in-game day. And you should generally want to do them in as few days as possible, because otherwise you'll lose precious waifu socializing time.
  5. I'm a nakige fan, particularly Key. The main reason I turned into an otaku was getting absolutely wrecked by the anime adaptation of Clannad After Story, and when I finally played the VN, that section delivered the feels once again. But my favorite is still probably Little Busters!, which was also my first VN. One non-Key nakige that I don't see mentioned here at all is Symphonic Rain - the last couple routes of that are fantastic feels material, and the VN has a very different vibe (in both good and bad ways) vs. a Key VN. If you're a nakige enthusiast, I highly recommend it. Not all of the 3 initial heroine routes appeal to everybody (lots of people aren't fans of Fal, though I am; and lots of people, myself included, think Lise's route is overall just kind of weak), but the last two routes get nearly universal approval.
  6. That depends on what your definition of "is" is. But probably true. @Shikomizue, I figured out why it wasn't working... I kept typing names and then realizing "Oh, I should throw that @ in front so it will refer to them", but the hook only works if you type the symbol on its own; if you put it in front of existing text, nothing happens and you feel like an idiot. Next person likes to eat eat eat apples and bananas.
  7. False. I just don't like the taste. show-off Next person looks around their room randomly for inspiration as to what next person is doing.
  8. On the contrary, Little Busters! Perfect Edition is getting an officially-licensed English release on Steam, courtesy of Fruitbat Factory working in partnership with Key / Visual Arts. Zazami Zazazegawa-Zenpai's route, in all its glory (except no H), will be revealed to us non-Japanese-speaking plebes in due time. Since it's officially-licensed, there will be actual money and motivation behind it, so although there hasn't been an official date announcement yet, I wouldn't be surprised to see it late this calendar year, given the amount of work they'd already done (though admittedly I also wouldn't be surprised to see it next year...).
  9. Sigh... is the temporary death of this thread really my fault? I remember Shikomizue responding at some point, so I'll just blame the database rollback. Next person fastidiously cleans their belly button. Edit: also, apparently I don't know how to do this person-referencing thing, so I'll just remove the @ sign and play it like I didn't even try to reference anybody in the first place. Aside from this edit note and all.
  10. Seems like they've, finally, gotten most things straightened out on this Kickstarter; any reasonably-addressable complaint I've seen so far on this forum (i.e., discarding unreasonably expensive suggestions like creating new merch or making a physical Vita release happen, somehow) has been addressed. I guess we'll just have to wait and see, now...
  11. This is in the right ballpark. I was making fun of suikashoujo's dakimakura. Read from here: And then it grew on me over time, so I kept it. Maybe it's symbolic of my role in life. Or something.
  12. Confession: I just got back from what I thought was simple networking with a former co-worker to get a referral for a new job, but which ended up being half complaint binge (about our mutual former employer) and half drunken date (after a couple drinks, somehow both of us started talking about MMOs, and then we kept that topic up for a solid hour). All I know is that tomorrow I'm going to have both a hangover (mead is a hell of a drink) and another company's recruiters to chat with... and probably a good opportunity to set up another date with her. Mission accomplished, I guess?
  13. ... now I just want to play Kara no Shoujo so I can meet and appreciate Touko.
  14. Like all blue-blooded Canadians, Fluterz obviously played the Steam release of Princess Evangile, which removed what was likely the only enjoyable part of the game (since, you know, it had annoying characters, no plot, and literally the worst music I've ever heard in a VN).
  15. You... are from Australia, not the US, right?
  16. Just finished up Gourmet Graffiti Girl. It was pleasant but unremarkable, except for the food visuals, which were admittedly pretty awesome. All in all, it was fine, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're looking for any kind of substance (obviously little to no plot is a given, but I even found the characters to be pretty boring). Started up Nozaki, which is both hilarious and interesting. I'm three episodes in. The first episode set up a decent hook, and the subsequent two episodes have been doing a fantastic job of introducing fun new characters. I'm excited to see more people, and hopefully then to see a proper plot emerge and get resolved.
  17. Seems like the Fuwa expectation for "easy recipe" is a little stricter than mine, but here's one of my standards that is cheap, delicious, quite healthy, and very easy. it's only moderately time-consuming because chopping lots of vegetables takes a while. Also, don't flay me for it being vegan; as an omnivore, I can honestly say it tastes great, so don't knock it until you try it. Lastly, it's not a weeb recipe. If you don't like southwestern US flavors, maybe it's not for you (but you should probably reexamine your taste buds): http://www.thugkitchen.com/roasted_chickpea_broccoli_burrito Make sure to add plenty of avocado. If you don't like avocado, you have my deepest condolences.
  18. It's not irrational to hate the team with a hard-earned reputation for constantly cheating. Good riddance.
  19. Confession: About 50% of the time when I'm sending text messages, I am disappointed that I can't use the appropriate Fuwa emoticon and have to settle for a less-expressive iPhone emoticon.
  20. Confession: I didn't know this existed but am relieved to have never been quoted by it.
  21. To be completely honest, I also thought the phrasing in that email was more confrontational than necessary when I read it. I was actually a little taken aback because it came off as pretty childish. That said, I don't think anybody would be talking about it except that at this point people are looking for reasons to crucify this Kickstarter, so pretty much any little thing will do.
  22. This seems to be the essence of what you're trying to say, so expand this claim, concisely, ideally with some supporting evidence, because as it is, I have no idea what you mean. How is Steam taking advantage of indie developers? Any idiot can (and many idiots do) write arbitrary walls of text with no point, let alone supporting evidence for such a point. An intelligent person can present an argument briefly. Right now, I don't even know what claim you're trying to make, except perhaps this little snippet which I culled from your thousands of words of spam thus far. I have yet to see anything like support for this claim, but maybe it's not even what you want to say; it's pretty hard to tell at this point. So say what you want to say, concisely, providing supporting evidence, acknowledging and/or refuting counter-arguments. Otherwise you're just an idiot on a rant.
  23. Art looks great (particularly the background art), and the music sounds lovely (the sample on Google Drive, since I'm assuming the trailer music isn't representative of the game music, though it's also quite nice). Gave you a vote on Greenlight, and I think I also just became your first patron on Patreon... so that's something.
  24. Specific definitional arguments about pretty much anything are generally both fruitless (nobody can agree, because, for example, the Platonic ideal Visual Novel doesn't exist) and useless (they won't actually inform the situation). Here's a more useful phrasing of the question to argue: is the experience of playing a Telltale Games release similar enough to the experience of playing a visual novel that people who enjoy the former will likely also enjoy the latter? If arguing for, ideally present a VN with a substantially similar experience (differences, if any, should be reasonably excusable as not central to the experience); if arguing against, present differences vs. all other VNs that make for a substantial enough change in the experience as to render it not enjoyable for the (rather large) western audience for Telltale Games. The former case is probably quite a bit easier than the latter, but, well, that's the nature of the argument here... I've actually never played a game by Telltale Games before, so I offer no argument either way.
  25. I'm with you on that one. I was actually rather proud of my Norse mythology-inspired VN idea over in this other thread:
