pretty sure that´s really the main reason why many haven´t bought the game, like a small, but overly vocal minority having basically rallied hard against fw censoring subahibi ever since its kickstarter, so naturally a lot of potential customers were drivem away from doing so. can´t expect the average schmuck of casual reader to know it has been only a tiny scene, lots basically believed there´s hours of content missing, at least that´s what i think. subahibi itself not being mainstream certainly factored into the poor sales as well.

i dont really see any reason why hobibox would or even should care about it, like it´s clear as day their version is primarily targeted at chinese speaking people, with its enrish pendant, well, might call it some low-effort throw-in at best. guess quality (in case the chn-tl wont suck) goes where the most money´s at. or in other words, if hobibox believes translating their titles in any other language apart from chinese isnt worth the hassle, so be it.

just hoping the translation does read good and no robotic at all. bit hesitant since there´s no visible indication on its steampage, the engrish description aside, be it screens with textboxes or an overall summary. doesn´t even make any sence to me, like prioritizing chinese over its english pendant effort-/qualitywise, but at the same time most stuff being written in engrish there.

definitely one of the better reads this year, as its been in jp quite some years ago. too bad the whole scene-removal whatnot blew way out of proportion, like making people avoid buying the title etc etc. & regarding some of the bit more unpleasant scenes, those aren´t even that much dark, just human, especially things concerning yuki did feel quite real in terms of emotional aspects.

& there i´ve thought "pieces of news" meant u guys going official, aka together hand in hand, lead by moenovel to promised land

just when i wanted to state the exact same u already did. totally surprised there´s so much of a riot coming to said title´s delayed approval. and before someone´s starts the usual whitenightening of pioneers, nah, its devs are also totally no doing the oelvn scene any good by going the full weeb way of life, including a fuckfest full of jp tropes, casting jp va´s instead of native ones etc...

kinda good is still killing the overall reading experience. played both games shortly after release and remember especially enjoying all those little talks etc., basically saying since there´s quite a good amount of dialogue, that further contributes to worldbuilding, a proper done translation is what u should be hoping for. pretty much the worst thing u would want reading is a steril/robotic/dull/lifeless sounding piece of mess

this and the fact they´ve usually announced gameplay titles such as rance etc at otakon, so this time stuff just being the other way round, don´t get the whole "i´m upset with them, mg how could u crap".

lilitales is a dungeoncrawler, not really an rpg like makina. didn´t feel much repetative to me whilst playing and overall its setting/worldbuilding was pretty well done. just don´t go in expecting pure kawaii gals swinging swords, moe & fluff, because there won´t be much of these.

errm, pretty sure they´ve announced lilitales, which is a quite good and entertaining title in itself (yeah i know them gals get raped, tortured and else, but so what?) all in all more surprised about the fact fw being the ones bringing it over. same with their short teaser on twitter (totally nsfw). though a free ero patch is guarantied to come, probably everything mosaic free as well, i´m still more than doubtful how it´s going to work out coming to steam.

guess there´s only this many staffmembers available coming to work on these 3 titles, all or most already being busy doing segoku/quest/whatnot. sure mg could just go and contract another bunch of whomever, but since consistency is a thing i´d rather have them otherwise. not to mention they´re pretty much into the series, which also reflects on the overall reading experience. and them remakes getting handled eventually isn´t even worth speculating, rance is popular as fuck, sells as fuck and would inevitably lead to mg getting fucked in the butt by fans if trying to say: nah fuck rance, we´ve done enough, let´s move on.

selfpublishing might, or might not be better, depending on how it´s done in the end. just no letting dudes/gals handle things in a way that´s either good, or fantl-quality at best. still greatly bothered by a certain individuals statements from not too long ago https://twitter.com/sacredge0/status/945160532264407047

don´t really mind them venturing into english terrain before facing financial shenanigans, as long as it won´t mean entrusting things to a company whose higher ups believe that putting efforts in (thoroughly) editing/betatesting/QA titles is a fukking waste of time, because eroge don´t generate enough revenue and customers aren´t supposed to complain/whine in the slightest, but that´s what it probably means, so ... *huge sigh

that makes it almost sound like they´ve came across a similar bunch of "professionals" which previously frauded mikandi as fuck. granted translators/editors are severly underpaid, at least coming to eroge etc, and anyone paying better than it´s the common norm is always welcome, but 300k+ does feel a slight little off...

why would they even care about english readers, like their target audience is and always been chinese, the eng? version is just some sort of cheap throw-in. sure any company attempting to sell machine translated stuff is rightfully damnable, but like already mentioned above the ones handing out to them its eng license, probably knowing that they won´t make proper an use of, aren´t any much better.

what´s sad is the fact companies even sell them BOTH licenses at the same time, like sakuragame is more than known to only really focus on the chinese part, churning out an crappy english pendant along the lines for whatever reason there is. btw don´t see them getting out of buiseness anytime soon, chinese dump their bucks on ´em

this is pretty much what i meant above. because it´s their own plattform there´s nothing you can do besides boycotting/using alternatives for them having upset customers. i know it´s frustrating, and i´m aware users are pissed, but if this is what they´ve wanted so be it, with all consequences.

re. Valve threatening to remove VNs with adult content from steam as hard/incomprehensible as it may seem to some, in the end it´s their plattform, their decision, their guideline to make. doesn´t matter if it´s mangagamer or other publishers/develovers who´re affected by said outcome, valve has any and all rights to handle steam as they see fit. no matter how much one whines and rages, if you don´t like it, don´t use it. simple as that.

@bakauchuujin mentioned henshin when coming up with an example of questionable? fandom, which is pretty okay in itself. it´s just, nah what i´m trying to say here is that monmusu is that bad of a title, even talking about others, be it good or bad ones, in the very same thread is wrong. like seriously bad. maybe comparable to appetite´s lineup, those weekly churned out soulless cashgrabs...

mentioning henshin in the same sentence as monmusu, or trying to compare both with eachother in whatever way is nothing but outright heresy. tentacle´s monmusu turned out being trash way beyond salavation, whilst almost all henshin titles are kamige tier in their respective category.

no matter how you look at it it´s always cheap porn that´s getting announced, most probably nothing to get gung ho about, like stuff from ammolite eg. milking onii-chan´s strawberry dick, or tales of onahole ... ah just fuck it. whoever truly believes it´s that time again where kamige come popping out right after another, nah it´s more than not.

even then. like i´ve mentioned before it´s a pure love story at heart and no matter how you look at it, regardless of done fanmade or professionally, when said story reads like detectiv conan, then everything went down the fucks

In my opinion Haru Uru & Damekoi both are the single best pure-love stories i´ve read up to date, there simply is no real competetion when coming to those two. Anyhow good luck!
