  1. You are right we shouldn't let his history of awful business decisions, his refusal to pay workers, a god awful "university" under his name, racist rhetoric, fucking insane delusion of a border wall, praising the rule of pretty much every dictator, childish behavior, history of creepy sexist behavior, and the inability to speak like a grown up give us the wrong impression of him. He could completely change in the next few months....... but than I have to ask what the fuck is the point of voting for someone if you believe they will become a different person when they are actually president.
  2. Think I'll power through Lone Survivor today, it's been setting in my steam library unfinished for a couple years now. Funnily enough the atmosphere reflects how I'm currently feeling.
  3. You know you say that, but considering over exaggerating was a major part of Trump's campaign I don't think we can say that it is pointless anymore. In all seriousness, I know the country is not literally going to end because Trump got elected, but at the very least we are looking at four years of some major cringe.
  4. Today in my Ideal Societies in Fiction class, the Teach kinda shambled in, looked at the class, and asked if we needed to talk about the election. The entire class responded with I think we are still in the denial stage of the grieving for the death of our country.
  5. Well, that is what I meant. The majority of the heroine routes in Little Busters could be completely removed and not take away anything meaningful from the "plot", but they are usually entirely focused on the heroine. In contrast the routes in Rewrite add context and information about the world that makes up the "plot", while the heroines are often sidelined or at least not entirely focused on.
  6. The original Majesty: One of the first computer games I got my hands on and still one of my all-time favorites. Basically it is a fantasy city building sim, in which you are the king and must order buildings constructed, hire heros, and manage taxes. There are a variety of missions with different objectives, most of which you can't directly achieve. You usually have to place bounties or set exploration rewards to motivate your hero to complete the task. Best of all, your advisory is Sean Connery (well it's not really, but it sounds just like him). Some others that are more well known (aka I don't want to type a paragraph about why I like each game cuz I'm a lazy ass). - Binding of Isaac Rebirth - Mass Effect 2 - Persona 4 Golden
  7. Not sure if this counts as it isn't strictly a vn the same way that Zero Time Dilemma isn't and it still focuses on sexual harassment as the primary "plot" motivator, but Itazura Gokuaku is a personal favorite game of mine. The basic overarching plot is the protagonist stalks and molests one of the heroines, while gathering info on them till they have enough to blackmail the heroine into engaging in sex acts. I should also mention that the gang-rape content is completely optional if that stuff isn't your thing and the endings are probably the happiest of any visual novel that focus on rape. Here is the vndb link https://vndb.org/v1758
  8. Hm, thinking of it like that one could say it has the opposite problem that Little Busters suffered from. In which the majority of the novel focused on romance with each heroine (with the possible exception of Kurugaya) with the actual "plot" coming out of nowhere in the last act.
  9. I suppose Ram, because I either want to murder the rest or have no idea who they are.
  10. Ok what is you fixation on this series? I admit that I enjoy spanking off to fucked up shit too, but I think we have already established that the series is an oddity that can't be used as a measuring device to other visual novels. The series is essentially a category in itself. Unless you are genuinely saying that it has the best narrative of any nukige, in that case....... I don't really know what you are trying to achieve because the bar is already on the ground. That is like demanding a Olympic athlete set a record in their field every time they compete or asking why the person who found the largest diamond didn't find a bigger one afterwards. Making a masterpiece is often something that is done accidentally and expecting every title to be the best one ever is insane. The general reason why we don't get anything mindbogglingly great anymore is because no one wants to take any risks. There isn't a definite return in taking risks, so companies retread the same old ground, because the dumb masses are afraid of trying anything new. That is why Hollywood continues to make sequels/remakes/softreboots, Frontwing is tortuously prolonging the Grisaia name, and Typemoon will never stop making Fate spin - offs.
  11. It is a very contentious title, some love it and some hate it. It does have allot more glaring issues than your average Key title and even those who like it can agree on that point.
  12. Hahahahahahhah what the fuck?!?! You don't like Rewrite, that is fine there are quite a few problems with it. However, to try and highlight the problems using Summer Days makes you seem completely unhinged. The School Days series is a bit of an aberration and few "vn" follow the same construction, using it as a baseline for what is considered a "good vn" makes no sense.
  13. Mmmmmmmmm, that is quite the pickle you have gotten yourself in. Really you can't go wrong either way, but personally I recommend Steins;gate. Mainly because it was the title that sucked me into the world of anime/manga/visualnovels and I generally prefer science fiction.
  14. I love this song, but whenever it hits the 4:32 mark I lose my shit and start laughing uncontrollably.
  15. I swear to god this is the last time I'm going to mention the episodic nature of the game here. After, going through the kickstarter updates I stumbled upon the one that announced the decision to divide the game up. Here it is if anyone is interested in reading it. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/sekaiproject/memorys-dogma-a-scifi-indie-visual-novel-from-japa/posts/1551423 From what it sounds like, code:01 consists of most of the original story and ideas that initially went into the project. Future games will include side stories and different heroine routes that they decided to extend because they got over-funded.
  16. Ok, see I originally thought that, but than I looked through the steam page I couldn't see any mention that it was the first installment of a series..... while, the Fault page did. I'm I being hypersensitive about this? I nearly burst a blood vessel when I saw there is an option on steam to purchase the COMPLETE collection of the Fault series when only the first two episodes have been released, but not mentioning that Memory's Dogma Code:01 is the first episode of a series seems equally off.
  17. Huh, I was under the impression from the 01 in the title and the $15 price tag that it was the first installment of a series, similar to Fault. Shame it seems to be this underwhelming, the first animated trailer I saw got me pretty hyped. Even more of a shame that it wasn't a hard scifi title like Psycho;Pass or Ghost in the Shell like I personally wanted.
  18. People who buy the Sakura games..... obviously.
  19. I love how it has gotten to the point that I no longer look forward to VN announcements for the actual title, but I'm now more interested and entertained by how the company will fuck up with their localization. Will it be the PR or the actual translation this time? God I can't wait.
  20. Hmmmmm, I suppose I should probably let my true face be known.... I'm the ugly friend for the guy on the right to look better in comparison.
  21. God I know the feeling, I've nearly completed my bachelor's and I still have no idea how. I usually study at most an hour for exams and type every single report the night before they are due. Still have no idea what the hell I'm going to do next year, but chances are I'm going to end up at my summertime job working nights at Walmart and living in my parents basement. Funny thing is, that this is a huge improvement over what I thought my life was going to be like in my highschool years. I actually just assumed that I was going to die somehow by my senior year, imagine my shock now that I'm a senior in college.
  22. Huh, that I had no idea that it was a "cultural" thing. I just kinda do it to show off something I'm currently digging or something that I found highly amusing. I don't really worry about privacy that much here considering I know for a fact that I live hundred of miles away from the nearest fuwanovel regular. Well, anyways welcome to the site.
  23. Welcome to this band of insanity!
  24. I heard the first game was a complete mess, with motivations for murder and backstories blindsiding players out of nowhere and from what I have seen from the anime I concur. The characters seemed to be reused cut-out models from a dozen other works with little to no effort in hiding that fact. I did hear that things improve in the second game. I don't really feel any desire to pick up the series, at the very least from the first game.
