  1. Whoa... I lost about a week worth of posts? I think this is the second rollback I've witnessed on here in the span of 4 months, though the first one didn't seem as bad a this...Anyway~ I'll re-type most of what I remember: I started playing Danganronpa. So far I'm really enjoying it~ I started it without expecting much but I finally decided to give it a try as I saw it was among the top ranked VN's on VNDB (when ordered by rankings) and also because I hear it's good. I love it so far, the characters are a bit wacko and strange but I can tell it goes with the theme and it's probably the beauty of the game. I just finished Chapter 1 last night and, I have to say, it's quite awesome to know that it had a Phoenix Wright element in it. Not only that but the game really reminds me of the board game "Clue" too, which is a plus in my book~ Only a few hours in-game and it already threw things at me that made me shocked. I have a feeling I'll enjoy it more as I keep playing.
  2. Welcome back! And yeah, I seemed to have lost a lot of posts lately. v v
  3. I got a Math test coming up very soon, and I'm left with a review sheet for practice. Sadly, I hardly know the procedures on how to solve them... It involves isolating variables, logarithms and isolating from under a square root. 1. b- http://prntscr.com/7xto4e 1. c- http://prntscr.com/7xto9k 2. a- http://prntscr.com/7xtocq (This one, the "ln" and the minus "3" in front of it is what I don't get...) 2. b- http://prntscr.com/7xton4(How can this one be solvable anyway?) 2. c- http://prntscr.com/7xtotf(As I keep moving from page to page, I get scared from my inability of dealing with isolating variables within denomenators) 2. d- http://prntscr.com/7xtp3m(I think I can do this one since "e" is simply a constant). And my biggest fear so far: http://prntscr.com/7xtyof (Whaaa..?) The protocols on solving them is what boggles me. I do have the answer sheet, but it's the procedures on solving them that gets me kind of scratching me head. Any help on any of the questions or some, on how to solve them will help x x;
  4. Portal 2 Ending. 999's Ending (not sure if the last puzzle session counts as an ending since it's still not the very end/right before the credits, but I put it anyway. Virtue's Last Reward's Ending. Yu-No's Ending (If you count the Epilogue as the ending). Ever17's Ending I think that's it... I might consider trying some of the games suggested on this thread to experience great plot-twisting endings, as those are one of my highlighted factors in what I try to find in games. Anything that doesn't need a modern console. e.e Maybe I played more of them but forgot to list. I'll edit when I do.
  5. I can't believe I missed out on this thread last week or two. This is my favourite game. They probably won't do it justice. I'm positive the remake won't be as good as the original, knowing the writer and composer have passed away, and I hear the drawing style kind of changed: almost nothing today beats classic-anime-style from decades ago in my opinion~ (about that, do you guys know any modern works that tries to recreate the 80's or 90's style?) About my thoughts on the Remake: The Good: The remake could potentially raise the awareness of the initial version to newcomers, making the original Yu-No more popular. The Bad: Newcomers will likely play the seemingly degraded remake first before looking for/trying out the Original that made it a classic to begin with. I can't judge yet, but their first experience might turn out less epic that way. I really want to look at the visuals, but I'm currently typing from College. Both links are blocked-out on my end, so I'll have to wait until I get home. I only saw a single sprite on Google Images that appeared to be Ayumi. It's genetic looking; it looks like a typical modern style that's a bit more on the cartoony side with a touch of chibi-ness, which sadly I think takes a bit of realism out from the environmental looks of the original. The plot, the characters, the 90's style, the flowchart and especially the music were initially my favourite parts of the game (basically every aspects, you can tell eh? ), but I've yet to listen to the remake of any of the songs. In the end though, whether it's as good as the original (kind of doubting) or not, I'll still play it for remeniscence, for sure~ EDIT: I looked at the new sprites. I'm not a big fan of the new look... but that won't stop me from playing it anyway since the original Yu-No is still my favourite story of all time. About Yu-No's ears:
  6. I actually say "Play" if there's at least one type of interaction present (either by a choice in a conditional branch or any other form of gameplay involved). Otherwise, I say "Read", for a Kinetic VN.
  7. Which was the previous/bad ending you got on the first playthrough? I'm kind of curious to know if it's the same as my first one.
  8. I actually finished it without using the walkthrough at all except for getting into a certain route~ The flowchart basically notifies you which route you're taking, which you've experienced and it helps you know if you're getting into unread text sections, you won't need a walkthough if you follow that~ But yeah, it all depends on how well you use the Jewel-Saves. Using them efficiently is the strategy behind the game on how you can save time from repeating certain events. Though because you only start with two of them, savepoints can potentially be spread far apart on the flowchart and re-catching up to a certain event that gave you an item that you accidentally lost, then I suppose that's when things can get tedious . On my first playthrough, I used both of the Jewel-Saves quite soon during the plot, so I already couldn't open the map (I didn't know the map was unavailable when I did that at first x.x that's when I realized that the device was powered by having at least a jewel in a slot). Though in the end I still decided to continue my playthrough blindly without knowing if I took the right paths or not. I kept hearing a Bleep sound every time I did an action, and I always wondered where that lead me in the map. It was still interesting. It took me 20 or so hours in-game I think to actually find a third Jewel, and that's when jumping around timelines started to get fun and easier.
  9. My god...Is that really official? It's official right!? It looks more like 999's style than its sequel, which I'm loving already!... So that's really the conceptual art huh? Although it might end up being a tad bit different, I hope they replicate the dark realistic tone exactly like it, in the actual game. If the third game purely has that kind of art-style, it'll really have the creepy vibe of the first game unlike the more cartoony sequel. It really, REALLY looks promising so far and at least now I I'll enjoy this year immensely now that I have something extreme to look forward to in Summer 2016.
  10. ZE3 Confirmed! Huzzah!
  11. I think the spoiler tag was necessary since it's a bit of my reaction about the ending~ but yeah, there was one small aspect of the story that I found was uninteresting and less believable, which was the introduction of but everything else the story offers pretty much makes up for that flaw, in my opinion . Concerning the rape scenes though, Sorry if I keep abusing spoiler tags, but I like thinking that there are some who want to delve into novels blindly without knowing anything. All in all, I recommend it as I found it to be a very fun story about human cooperation in a seemingly dead world.
  12. Well, I finally just finished Swan Song tonight, only an hour ago... I'm recovering from what I just witnessed/read... An amazing story with a few flaws,
  13. I would highly recommend YU-NO, Ever17, 999 (and its sequel) and Steins;Gate. YU-NO does have some form of gameplay involved as well as 999, but they are still mostly story-driven with texts, therefore it shouldn't hinder the experience. ^ ^
  14. Whoa, how'd I miss that? I thought I read "unofficial" somewhere haha. Time to join.
  15. I log in, and I check "My Contents" to see if there's anything new in preferred threads I previously commented in. Then I look at what thread is new on the main page and I reply to those that pique my interests~
  16. I would actually join such an official group if it's made. It'll be more of a better reason to involve myself on Steam, haha. ...Especially with many new awesome games coming out the next upcoming years > <.
  17. It really shows how life-enhancing forums like these can be. Truly a great way to immerse into creativity and language~ It's very innovating.
  18. I'm enjoying Swan Song even more; the more I play, the more immersed I seem to get. I love Kuwagata's character for some reason, and the change of POV is still awesome~ I love seeing the different mindsets. So far I'm at chapter 2-6.
  19. I agree at times. I love speculating on my own without any fictional character explaining things; it becomes too cliched and not as realistic of a story when there are constant hints. I always prefer visual explanations or situations that is dependent on the reader/watcher's opinions alone on how events are perceived, like that it makes you feel rewarded when you pay attention to an event that turns out to be true to your speculations in the end. I love figurative works where it's all up to the person experiencing the plot to put the pieces together until at least the later parts of the story; it's why I'm a big fan of some selected Mystery-genre stories (let it be games, novels, mangas, animes, movies, shows, etc).
  20. Other than Visual Novels, I'm currently playing Monster Hunter IV. It's always fun to pop that game out every now and then when in a waiting situation with friends.
  21. Sony's conference was my favourite. Shenmue III, No Man's Sky, Final Fantasy VII (I also hope/wish they do VI next~) As for other mentioned games, I still look forward to Star Fox, Mario Maker and the new Fire Emblem game. And non-E3 related, I'm highly paying attention to A Hat in Time, Mother 4, Bloodstained and Yooka Laylee. So many great games are coming as I love this day and age. 1990-2000 was great, 2000-2010 was a bit less, but 2010-2020 is looking to be good! No one talked about A Hat in Time in the gaming category on the forums I believe, I suppose I'll make a thread on that at some point for those who've yet to know what it is.
  22. Most VN's I played are Sci-fi and it's my preferred genre. As a guy, I would love to experience a playthrough of a Sci-fi VN with a beloved; it'll be like watching a movie but with the addition of texts. Sadly, I don't know a lot of girls who are into Sci-fi, or let alone the idea of reading/listening from the same screen together. I love the idea though and it's something I hope to try someday.
  23. Can't say I ever heard what Fandisk meant before reading this, I just had to look that up. I really thought it meant something similar to Fan-made at first I'm looking forward to it~
  24. Welcome to the forums! And yeah, a few months ago I was playing Ever17, YU-NO and Steins;Gate, and after consecutive amounts of weeks of sleeplessness, playing those three extremely good Visual Novels made me delve more into that genre too. I guess you can say my first Visual Novel was Phoenix Wright too from a few years ago~ I realized recently that Visual Novels felt more rewarding than most movies, books and other fictional works I've experienced
  25. Fun poll~ It's my third month here and I'm highly enjoying the community and the content the site offers (VN, translated works, group efforts, etc). Fuwa is very innovating, I find, and it's a great place to hang out after a rough day of work or studies~ I often find threads interesting to take part of and it often gets rid of boredom when I have nothing much else to do on a relaxing day.
