KiraKira has several of these small mistakes but the most noticeable is that they keep referring to Kirari's hair as being black (They also don't ever mention her iconic hair ornament but I guess that is more of an omission than an actual error)

...What madness is this? Jokes aside most of the time they feel like afterthoughts and because of it I don't really expect anything of them in the first place. Pessimistic, I know.

Are side routes ever not disappointing?

This looks right up my alley so I nabbed one of the early birds. They have given themselves a pretty tight schedule and considering what I have seen before I will be very surprised if they are able to keep it. But stranger things have happened I suppose.

So this really is just a Clannad bashing thread. ...Let me get in on this too. My problem isn't that it has a happy ending though (because I'm a sucker for cheesy happy endings) but that it is painfully abrupt and does not properly explain anything. If you're going to essentially overwrite everything that happened the last few hours you could at least have the decency to make it longer than it takes for me to finish my breakfast. Speaking of Key, Little Buster's ending also felt like chickening out. Maeda, If you want your happy endings, which again I have no problems with, properly set them up. Not these rushed Deux ex machina things. Honorable Mention also goes to VA-11 HALL-A for kinda just ending. Didn't even realize we were near the end until I got the Thank You mail. Felt like the author either ran out of inspiration or time. I wanted to go into more detail but it seems I can't get the spoiler function to work on my phone at the moment. Oh well, considering how popular these threads tend to get you won't have a shorthand of people telling you why your favorite ending sucks

Oh we're doing wishful thinking thread? Let me get in on this too. I would love to see '&' - Sora no Mukou de Sakimasu you ni - get translated. Mostly for this girl But alas so far the fickle gods of translation has not deemed it meant to be. Maybe one day. Or maybe I learn Japanese. Whichever.

Holy crap this is real. At least that poor dude on reddit that bet all his money that Trump would win will be happy. He was really freaking out after the whole video scandal. So at least someone out there has a happy ending

You keep mentioning the Yawgh but I would argue it's not really a Visual Novel. It's more a Choose Your Own Adventure game (well isn't that a mouthful) which is not really the same thing. It's also really short and does not have much in the terms of dialogue. Your comparison with Visual Novels and watching a TV-show is really why I can't see this idea working. It's the same like making a multiplayer movie, or a multiplayer book.

It probably can't really compare with the other recommendations here, but let's throw in Denkegi Stryker. Got some good ol' superhero action. Don't expect a masterpiece but if you're simply looking for some harmless fun then it got you covered.

Like I said, it automatically comes up when I start the game. And it won't accept a no for an answer Without the patch the game seems to work fine

Since you named yourself after Kurisu you probably already know this but Takumi from Chaos;Head is pretty weak human trash. On the oneesan-front, Kawakami Momoyo from Maji de Watashi ni Koishinasai! fits pretty well. Big sister type that is super stronk. She also got the boobs. Now if you actually want these two points together in the same VN, I got nothing. Sorry

There hasn't and I wouldn't hold my breath. Re-translations are rare and usually reserved for the real train wrecks. As bad as KiraKira is at times it's still readable. Edelweiss was a rare (but very needed) exception. Edit: Ninja'd. ChaosRaven said it better than I did

Get ready for typos. Poor Kashiwara especially gets her name misspelled a lot. I would still recommend reading it though, just don't have high expectations of the translation quality. At least there is no "they mustervate or they become lilly" in KiraKira

Honestly I agree with the sentiment of the dungeons being tedious. To me the biggest weakness by far of this game is the side-quests. They take way to much time (five hyper battles in a row?... are you kidding me right now?) and they don't even have satisfying conclusions. Of some reason they decided not to have any new text when you turn in a mission making it feel even more pointless. It's not helping that the battle system is really not made for grinding. I need to end this post on a less negative point. Ehh so how about that Ai huh. Actual spoilers for after the common route.

In this case I would say people are insecure to discuss the value of H-scenes because it usually ends with people screaming in each other's faces. or typing I guess. Typing in each other's faces? Anyway it's not very productive and never leads anywhere. Edit: Alright, despite what I just said I'm going to throw in my two cent anyway, prove me wrong internet. I don't particular care much about whether a VN has h-scenes or not. As long as they are not too awkwardly forced in at least. Well I do say I don't care but I still buy the uncensored version of all the VNs I buy so I guess I care somewhat. Also it's only really contradictory if you assume those two groups of people too be the same. You can say you like something but also assume other people aren't going to buy it. I know that's definitely true.

They are set in the same universe but outside of a few cameos they are mostly unrelated. You can easily read Deardrops without reading KiraKira if you want too. But if you are going to read both of them (and you should) I would personally recommend reading KiraKira first. Mostly because one of the cameos in Deardrops kind of spoils one of KiraKira's endings. Well the other cameo kind of does the same for the KiraKira fandisc but no one cares about that.

Well I'm hyped. Now I just have to improve my economical situation so I can actually afford a PS4. Or hope it eventually gets released on PC. Whichever comes first. Also I missed these news because I was too busy studying. Do you guys see what exams make you do? I should make a petition somewhere.

This is a bit off-topic but I see Yume Miru Kusuri among WinterfuryZX's collection and well, they picked Antoinette to be on the spine? That's a interesting choice. Other than that I don't have much to add. My VN collection is almost completely digital with the exception of Steins;Gate and recently Seinarukana. I would complain about the difficulties and expenses involved with getting physical stuff to Sweden but I doubt you guys have it any easier so... Respect!

Now that Bokuten is nearing completion we should eventually expect to see them announce the Green Green remake, especially considering how close MangaGamer is with Overdrive. Though it might still be a bit early for that considering we don't know how much editing has been done. Any other speculation from my part of what would be announced would probably be more wishful thinking than anything actually realistic.

I've voted Yumina. Though mostly because I only have one route left so this would kick me into actually finishing it. It's a fun, if flawed, game
