VN Reading Club - May 2015 (Coμ -Kuroi Ryuu to Yasashii Oukoku-)
Kurokusari replied to Kosakyun's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Well this is a kind of VN where you'll have a drive to continue once you get in the hype train. Seriously, once it gets good, it's hard to stop reading. You have to actually like and enjoy the story first tho so if you have some hate among the characters/story (but you CAN'T hate Mayu-mayu), it might be a different case. I myself finished this where I cut my sleep by a couple of hours just to read it. So yeah my 6 hours sleep went to 4 hours but I don't regret it huehue -
Welcome to le forums! Wow you play tennis so that means you're not a complete shut-in like most people here Ahh I remember the time before my college what I was asked by my parents if I want to take dentistry. I was wondering what could ever be so enjoyable in looking at other people's mouths. No offense intended tho. Enjoy your stay here, onee-chan~

Do you mind sending in a render? Also, I don't advise having such a long phrase since the ones I made have a close 2:1 ratio and with a limit of 150 in height, the outcome will probably make the text hard to read. Well, if you'd really like something like a wide signature to accommodate the long text, I'll still make it.

What Light Novel are you reading right now?
Kurokusari replied to Jibril's topic in Anime/Manga Talk
What, it was the greatest disappointment I've ever had in my entire life. Never before have I been so much looking forward to something to get hit with that response. I was screaming like a little grill when I found out that there would be an anime adaptation only to watch the crappy series with Banri as the main protag's VA. -
At the same time it'll also avoid understandings hahaha Wauw another Filipino, and an immigrant at that. Yeah I also enjoy the school system here. Although the quality and tuition leaves much to be desired, you could make friends easier and get closer with spending hours in the same room for hours most of the week. Well, it could also be a bad experience if you don't have good relationships in the classroom or if you're being bullied. Oh yeah that's also something I've kept hearing about; they say that the case of bullying here in the PH is less severe than other countries. I'm not sure if the ones in foreign movies are exaggeration but nothing like that has ever happened in my whole school life. While I didn't leave the PH, the system is a bit different now that I'm in college. The teachers won't rotate for the students anymore so yeah you'll probably won't stay in the same room much anymore unless you're in a block section. Honestly, being in a block section still feels like high school and I don't hate it. It just means more studying since a failing grade will mean that you'll have to retake that subject and get removed from the block section, most of the time. I've always thought that you guys eat good food everyday. I mean, that's how it's always depicted in movies and such. Maybe a documentary will be different but I'm not that studious to actually watch documentaries about countries. Come to think of it, I can't quickly say anything when I'm asked "What other cities in France do you know aside from Paris?". I can't think of anything else

While I'm at it, here and have a dose of what I mean by awesome english among teens.
-
Oddly enough there's some sort of strange perception of using the language here. If a foreigner speaks Tagalog, everyone is so amazed and appreciative but when a Filipino speaks English, they find it pretentious. Also another reason why people here have broken English since they have no opportunities to practice, aside from the fact that not everyone gets proper education.
-
At least you guys are somewhat aware that you're not really well-liked by people. No offense intended. Then there's the Filipinos who indiscriminately talk in Tagalog regardless if there are 100 other participants as long as there is still one that can understand him. They mostly band in-game tho so I guess that's why they are proud to be Filipinos. So much love for America. <3
-
Got it. I'll get to it later on since it's already 5 in the morning here. Ugh I'm starting to revert little by little to my broken sleep schedule. HAIL LOLI

I wonder when will someone actually proud of his country will show up. That and no one seems to be standing up for their own folks. I won't defend Filipinos in this sort of thing since it's pretty much the majority's fault for giving such a bad impression. We don't really have much mushrooms here in the wild but it's pretty common to have a tree or some edible plants in your backyard here. We have some and it is better than the ones you can buy in the market or groceries. Maybe the fact that you made it yourself contributed to that but there's also the fact that it's all-natural. People here also earn pretty low (reason why there are a lot leaving the country for greener pastures) but the things are still expensive. Even the daily necessities are included in it. Also, pirating here is too common for someone to call it an issue. You could see them openly selling them side-by-side with other vendors. That and you could also buy a diploma or some sort of certificate. It does fool a lot of things (it looks really genuine) but it's not foolproof. You forgot something; football. Yeah same here with the loathing of the politicians the citizens themselves elect into the position. Btw that's one diverse mixture of blood. If you actually follow some sort of tradition for each of your own descent then that's pretty amazing in its own right.

Still haven't seen one that sings praises about his own country. Not that everything's negative but mostly negative along with some positive ones. There might not be huge wars that hit continents but there really are conflict everywhere. Well, that always happen when people interact tho. Also the food. It's common in Asian cuisine so don't worry about it. Looks inedible but really delicious. We aren't really banned on MMOs but we are notorious for being salty, stupid players in games. I don't really play DotA 2 but I heard that they coined a wonderful term for us; Peenoise. I'm not really offended tho since it's more or less deserved. For the university courses, we have one called RIzal Course. Everyone is require to take take it no matter what degree you're pursuing. Basically it's all about the wonderful life of our National Hero, Jose Rizal. And by that everything about him is included. Also fun fact: His full name is Jose Protacio Rizal Mercado y Alonzo Realonda. If you're wondering why his name is sooo long, google it. You'll find some sort of law during that time that required adding names to your own.

It's quite a feat to actually avoid that much after living there for years. And it sounds like you stayed the for quite some time. I haven't had any seriously dangerous encounters here but it'll probably end when I start attending classes at night. That or I can be careful enough that's being borderline paranoid.
-
That's one dangerous and thrilling country. Not really for the weak-hearted me. It seems like the intense environment made everyone weary with everyone else. Here it's outright stealing and they are really good. They can take stuff without you and the people around noticing. I've been a victim once so I can attest to this. Although they are weak against confrontations. I managed to get my wallet back after getting a grip on the partner of the thief through talking. Seriously, I just talked and convinced them to give it back. Pretty loose when it comes to laws regarding alcohols huh. Well there are a lot of instances where things just can't be avoided or happens too commonly and the authorities just let it go. I can't really say that we have the same dishes. The closest with the appearance of the pic is fries from Mc Donalds along with some chicken from another fastfood chain. My country being Asian, kinda doubt it. As for the choosing of party, I don't think it matters much here since it always end up the same. There are some exceptions but they are rarely showing up. I believe there was one who died a few years ago and they were singing praises of him since he wasn't corrupt at all. Well, according to the media anyway.

I think there are bots that do automatic stuff but I've seen a lot where you need to actually input some commands for them to work. Not really much experience in IRC but in the short while I've used it, that's what I saw. Stuff like google bot and youtube bot giving out search results after inputting commands.

Why does it sound like everyone is a delinquent and is out to get you? It feels like you don't need a dark alley and/or in the middle of the night to get killed. Bribery here is mostly seen in politics. It's more of "how can I buy the votes" rather than "how can I get support". Well you guys already know but Filipinos might be the same in that aspect of speaking the same language everywhere. Please do consider that there are some that can actually speak English and be considerate about others. Can't really say tho since just about every MMO gamer know Filipino curses. As for the smoking and drinking, it's more or less the same here. You can even find some much younger than the mentioned ages that already drink and smoke.
-
The most of us are hypocrites and carebears The first time you get drunk here you're probably 13-15 we dont care about politics (normal people) we work pretty hard if you can walk when you come home you're doing it wrong So you guys don't have any laws against minors drinking alcoholic beverages? Not that it really matters since you can drink in the comfort of your home and no one really cares. By the way I've heard somewhere that cold countries tend to have people drinking alcohol more. It warms up their bodies. And that fewd looks good *Q*. It's 3 in the morning here so maybe I'll get something to eat. I'm not really that familiar with the work ethics here since I still don't work. Regarding politics, you can find a lot of them here bitching about how the government sucks and all but not doing anything at all to contribute to the improvement.

The freedom is real along with the sarcasm. Kinda felt like actually creating a thread about the real meaning of freedom. That said, freedom in its truest definition might be a problem since that would mean that there would be no laws binding them. Ice hockey. Coffee. We drink lots of coffee. We might not also seem too sociable but if you get to know someone we are sociable I'm not really knowledgeable about sports but I don't think ice hockey is that popular of a sport everywhere since there are different countries that don't really have cold enough weather to actually have ice naturally. And I doubt that people in the olden days used to unnaturally freeze the ground so they could do the sport and carry it on nowadays. While I'm at it lemme say that my country's national sport is Arnis, it also being our national martial art. Personally I really enjoy a cup of coffee. And by that I sometimes boil water for cups of coffee all for myself until I'm satisfied. No, we don't really use machines in brewing coffee here much. The traditional way of estimating how much sugar should you put that will end up in diabetes.

So I guess that makes you one of the minority. Really interesting how you managed to be out of the descriptions that was given while being someone from the same environment. I really think that the environment shapes the inhabitants a lot so it's kinda strange how you didn't get swept up with that. Seems to prove how there's always an exception. I've also been more or less in the minority in what the people my age do so I do understand how people view me as if I'm a different existence.
-
That some specialty you have there. Can't really say much about spicy food since there's only a few regions that specializes in spicy dishes here in my country but I do love myself some good spicy food. Not really the overblown ones but the mild ones are good for me.

Because I'm a traveler since birth (no seriously, I was born while we were in the middle of driving to an airport. Pretty hardcore traveling m8), I find it hard to identify with only one single culture, so I'll talk about the different ones I've met throughout my experiences:- The British are pretty open minded people. Despite being like the only Muslim in the schools I went to, some which were even Catholic, I never felt that others were judging me because of my faith. I did have a horrible personality back then though, so I had a lot of reasons for people to hate me . And Scottish aren't dumb, their accent is annoying as F though. Sudanese are considered to be the nicest Arabs out there, at least to other Arabs. If you're South Sudanese however, I'm afraid you won't find much love. As for white people, just be sure to laugh at all the jokes they crack, which isn't hard considering their English. Ah, and now it's time to talk about Saudis. Where do I even start? Saudis are rich as you can get. They can also be pretty kind, so if a Saudi ever invites you to eat at any time, be it 1 AM, be sure to go as you'll probably get some pretty classy food I like how I'm talking about people as if they're objects... Thing is, the coolest places here are all religious, so you'd have to be a Muslim to even visit most of them I get what you mean by people being friendly when there aren't much gadgets and electronics around. I had an experience in my childhood when we visited our province. You could really feel nature there, the air was clear, you can bath in the sea and rivers, and even get free food from trees everywhere as long as you ask the owner of the yard. Can't say it's still the same tho since urbanization is already getting near those places and I haven't visited for a while now. Is that Philipino supposed to be Filipino? It's kinda likely from my view since it's a well-known fact here that there are tons of OFWs in different countries. Some people even believe that there's no country without a Filipino. Reason being getting a job with a decent pay here is pretty challenging, even if you are a degree holder. I can relate with the broken English. I have nothing against them since language is supposed to be a medium of communication so as long as you get your point across, it's fine. There's a lot of broken English here in the country and it always make me laugh since the meaning sometimes get crazy and irrelevant. Then there's the grammar nazis that have better English to tell them off.

Vacation's almost over. I hope that my sched this sem won't be leaving me with only 8 hours to spend in the house like last time.
-
That and if you consider the years she's been walking the earth idk how you can be a pedo. Women's ages in anime is pretty much vague everywhere so it could break your sense of age anyway
-
Yeah I've also saw this too on a different forum. It was a request/giveaway thread when everyone can request and some people will pick it up. Ofc there's also people just randomly giving it away. Doing it here doesn't seem like bad idea but I haven't been in this forum for a long time but I can't really see much people interested in GFX. That or they're lurking around and hiding their awesomeness. Also, they soon formed a group that will take on the requests of the forum members so there won't be ignored requests that could put some people down.

Seems like sports is taken seriously by not only the citizens but everyone else, in different countries. The only sports that people focus on here is basketball and volleyball. That and boxing. Although I say boxing, the only high profile figure here is Manny Pacquiao. Another fun fact: Whenever Pacman has a fight, which is always Sunday here, the streets are empty. By empty, the traffic is extremely smooth. You could even walk on the road in some parts. I still remember this as a kid but not much now since he's been losing quite a lot. This is also something that I find irritating. How can the people only support him in the good times when he needs it more when he's losing? I'll stop here since the rant might go on hahaha
