Give Advice to Someone on How to Date You
Yeah Way replied to rainsismyfav's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
Hope you enjoy arguments about everything, and are attractive. That's already too picky for most people, it seems. xD -
I know, right? Looking back on previous years, I find myself agreeing with the old panel's decisions much more than those of the popular vote. Still an entertaining competition though.
-
That's understandable. It's pretty spoilerific, if you pay attention to what's going on. Speaking of FES, anyone else just love Metis? She's so OP in battle. The Answer would require even more hours of grinding without her.

I can't be the only one on these forums who just f***ing loves the Eurovision. A chance for us all to experience the music world's greatest failed experiment, europop. For those of you not familiar with the Eurovision, it's one of the New World Order's attempts to end nationalist free will and impose the EU's new communist regime through brainwashing of the masses via the media. In anticipation for this year's Song Contest, I thought I'd start a thread where we all share our favourite performances, and bitch about people voting for countries for political reasons and how your country's song didn't win one year when you thought they should have. Here are my favourites: Israel's 'Hallelujah', 1979, and Norway's 'Fairytale', 2009. Two very deserving winners, in my opinion. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uiH4BFTELME https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C33kO3fvjkI I love a lot more songs, of course; but I wouldn't want to spam the first post, so I'll spare you. =P

Played any Shin Megami Tensei?

Okay, all joking aside, I think the FES opening is just brilliant. Portable's is cool too, but nothing beats that FES mash-up.

You're not 'normal' if you're a virgin at seventeen? Well, fuck, I'd better get a move on!

Harem in real life - Boy in girl-school!
Yeah Way replied to Satsuki's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
Mate, there's a thread now about who the biggest 'hentai' is on the forums and a fifty-two page thread about traps. What the hell makes this one special? xD -
FES is better. Inb4 flame war.

Harem in real life - Boy in girl-school!
Yeah Way replied to Satsuki's topic in The Coliseum of Chatter
I reckon he'll find his group and just hang with them just like the vast majority of other high schoolers do. I know two guys in my year alone in school who are each the only lad in their respective groups. Sure, it'll be a big deal for a while; but eventually, they'll realise that he's just as uninteresting as they all are and he'll just be 'the one lad in the school'. It'll be his label for at least one year and that's pretty much it. That said, I'd love if we could all keep a eye out for any news in case anything significant happens to him. Chances are there won't be a follow up unless something tragic happens, so I hope we don't hear about him again and we can all assume he lived happily ever after. -
Hurry up and play 'Rewrite' and 'Hoshizora no Memoria'.

Decided I'd try to hunt down some info on the topic. First, there's the obvious child porn link. Even assuming lolicon can be treated the same as 'real' child porn, correlation between consumption and actual crime is still debatable. "According to one paper from the Mayo Clinic of the U.S.A. based on case reports of those under treatment, 30% to 80% of individuals who viewed child pornography and 76% of individuals who were arrested for Internet child pornography had molested a child. As the total number of those who view such images can not be ascertained, the ratio of passive viewing to molestation remains unknown." You can find pieces like that anywhere on this topic. Basically, any claims of direct correlation are dubious at best. The moderate, most credible observation, when it comes to lolicon and Japan is summed up here by Galbraith: "Milton Diamond and Uchiyama Ayako show a trend towards more violent pornography and fewer sex crimes in Japan (Diamond and Uchiyama, 1999). This is not to suggest that consuming images of sexual violence somehow compensates for or relieves real desires." There is no evidence whatsoever that consumption of lolicon pornography leads to sexual abuse, nor is there any proof that it prevents it. More research should go into this topic before any decisions are made to outlaw lolicon. Of course, like everything else, governments never need evidence or research to back up a decision once a vote is passed.

Preserving Older Games Is "Hacking" and Illegal
Yeah Way replied to Nosebleed's topic in Gaming Talk
It's not stupidity. I wish! It's just greed, as always. Pure, disgusting greed. Hopefully, the eff succeeds in working past that terribly written copyright bill. -

I am immeasurably jealous. -
Holy shit, June!? This is such great news! Man, I'd totally forgotten about this game after hearing about it so long ago; and now it's coming out as soon as I'm out of school! ^^ Thank you so much for posting this!

How Global is Fuwa (What country do you actually reside in?)
Yeah Way replied to Zalor's topic in Members' Lounge
There sure seem to be a lot! I'm surprised there aren't Portuguese-only threads or a Portuguese sub-forum at this stage. xD -
I hate cutting off voices by skipping to the next line. I always make sure to change the settings so that the voice continues playing if the next line is unvoiced, just as a precaution, should I click by accident or wrongly assume the line's finished being read.

Hoshizora no Memoria: Should I complete all routes?
Yeah Way replied to BobJones2's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Do all of them. At least one is bound to surprise you. I asked this exact question before, and I was so glad that I listened to everyone and didn't skip to Yume. -
I remember I was happy to be contributing to the so called translation project for Eternal Heart. How naive I was.

I was looking for translations of 'Hoshizora no Memoria: Eternal Heart', when I came across Aaeru's blog thing. This led to me contacting Steve about the project, who led me to this wonderful place. ^^ Thank you, Steve!

How Global is Fuwa (What country do you actually reside in?)
Yeah Way replied to Zalor's topic in Members' Lounge
Not really. It's just that, compared to Japanese and Irish, I've found Spanish far easier. What's your native language, if you don't mind me asking? English? -

Romance languages like the ever-popular Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. Swedish and Norwegian are also said to be much more regular than English, though I don't know much about those two in particualr myself. Whilst I did say "English is often regarded as one of the hardest languages", now that I go back over my materials, there are about as many people saying the opposite. ^^b For example, here's a post which used a study by the US Army School of Languages: https://robertlindsay.wordpress.com/2009/12/01/more-on-the-hardest-languages-to-learn/ It features a ranking system from 1-6 to represent difficulty of learning for English speakers. It also gave English a score, based on 'English-learners'. (Native countries/languages not mentioned) The study is highly contested, but it's the ony real academic source I could ever find on this subject that includes English itself. There are also countless surveys like this one: http://www.lexiophiles.com/featured-articles/results-of-the-hardest-languages-to-learn-poll It asked readers to select the hardest languages to speak properly, to write properly, and to learn overall. English made the top 10 all three times. However, this is all ignoring more obscure, ridiculously hard languages. For example read the paragraph for Tsez in this article: https://robertlindsay.wordpress.com/2009/12/01/more-on-the-hardest-languages-to-learn-non-indo-european-languages/ So yeah, I think I'll be more careful next time with my wording when I talk about this.
