ああああああああああああああああああああああああ I would buy a vita for this, if it came out in English. I think Japanese VA would detract from the experience, but western might be okay? The characters were European, so Japanese voices could seem a bit tacky... And like solidbatman said, it would negatively affect some of the perspective tricks. I think it could be done, though.

E17 is overrated as a whole, as the first four routes are pretty tedious, but the true route did some really clever stuff. Also, the can scene is probably my favorite in the first four routes and if it had done a better job capitalizing on the tense situation and the feeling that something's wrong, the VN would have been that much better... it's a real shame. But +1 for having a pretty unusual opinion. I feel like the vast majority of what I hear is praise. E17 isn't a 10/10 VN, it's a 4/10 at its worst and a 10/10 at its best, so it's more of a mixed bag, if anything. On a side note, does anyone who's read it know if Root Double fixes these problems, or makes them worse? It looks pretty engaging, but I'm not sure about slogging through twice as much bland text as ever 17 had (which was already too much).

Well, one time I made a Christmas card out of a euphoria CG and emailed it to a bunch of my friends, and it's either the best thing I've ever created or the worst. Minor (?) spoilers, if you've gotten past the part where they escape the facility then you've seen this CG. Also, I'm sorry. edit: This isn't mine, but it instantly came to mind when you mentioned dank photoshops.

Fata is the best VN I've ever read and it's abysmal sales numbers are downright depressing. I've been shilling to my friends to the degree that they're willing to get it just to shut me up, haha. But I do like to think that it has sort of gained steam; its VNDB scores are really high now (#30, if I recall correctly), and I feel like I've seen more people talking about it in general in the last few weeks/month, with very few complaining. So, umm, I'm not really sure where I was going with this in the first place... keep shilling, I guess?

Thank you so much

Glad you like it. I'm pretty sure my opinion on her route isn't popular at all, so I'm not that surprised. For what it's worth, I don't remember a sharp downturn in quality, so if you like it now you probably still will by the end.

It sounds like we had a pretty similar impression. Tsugumi wasn't remotely likeable until the true route, imo. I thought that the themes were pretty interesting. If you're anything like me, Sora's route will drive you half insane, haha. For what it's worth, I think Kid's are generally better, and the true route will help make up for it, but get ready for a pretty long and sometimes irritating slog until then.

Still reading ef. Sadly, since school started, I've been very busy (especially with japanese eating up a lot of my time), but I'm still managing to get at least a little bit in. I finished the first story arc, and I thought it was alright. The protagonist was good, and I ended up liking Miyako more than I initially thought I would. One of my main problems is Kei- I'm not very fond of "comedically violent" heroines. And as a whole the story arc was a bit too melodramatic for my tastes; when heroines are trying to backstab each other for the main character, it really doesn't help me sympathize with them, haha. Luckily, I'm just at the beginning, but I like the part with Kyousuke as the protagonist much more so far. I feel like I've spent most of this post complaining, but it really isn't that bad so far, I just don't love it. The art and music are very good, though, and I do really like Yuuko. The VN is absurdly CG heavy and has a very cinematic feel that I don't really see anywhere other than in minori VNs. And none of this is necessarily final, I could very well end up adoring it by the end.

You can probably tell by my avatar, but my favorite character is Michel. @DharmaFreedom, the VN can be pretty dark, but as a whole it's much more somber and sometimes depressing than scary. If you're interested you should definitely pick it up, I think it's the sort of thing that you will like if you think you will, if that makes any sense.

Are you still willing to do these? If so, I would be grateful if you were to make something out of this. I don't have any real preferences, just make it pretty, I guess. If you aren't still making these, sorry to bother you and thanks anyway.

Which VN? I don't mind if you spoil it, I'm pretty curious. Anyway, I think it depends on the execution. When a heroine dies, it can add a lot of impact to the story, and I do appreciate it when a VN has the guts to do that. Especially when it's an utsuge, sometimes it just makes a lot more sense thematically (for instance, a story about the inevitability of death). With that said, if it's executed poorly, it can come off as a cheap way to try to trigger emotions, or pointless. And god forbid the VN kills of a main heroine and then uses bullcrap deus ex machina to bring them back at the end.

Off the top of my head, you can right click and select skip from a menu that pops up. Give it a shot and tell me if I'm wrong.

Fata's probably one of the few VNs I would wholeheartedly recommend rereading for that reason. Apart from being able to notice subtleties in the character's actions and speech (especially in chapter 5) that you wouldn't notice before, a lot of things are just so much more powerful on a reread. I broke down in tears during investigation, for instance...

Takeshi's routes first, then Kid's. I went Tsugumi->Sora->You->Sara-> and then Coco, which is the true route and gets saved for last no matter what.

Welcome~ don't worry about posting here often, I didn't until just a little while back. What are your favorite Visual Novels? And as a side note, your profile picture is absolutely fantastic

Senpai noticed me~ But in terms of Flowers, frankly, I don't think you're really missing much. It isn't very good, in my extremely arrogant opinion . Shame, too, Innocent Grey has a fantastic track record.

I recently finished Inganock and loved it. It has what is probably the most engaging world I've ever seen in a VN, and the storyline is a fairly complex one that requires you to pay attention to fully understand. Really nice art, too. The characters were good, I suppose. I didn't love most of them (apart from Gii, who's an absolutely fantastic protagonist), but they had their charm. The ending was cathartic and even pulled on a few heartstrings, which isn't something I say often. I think it could have benefited from more tracks, but it doesn't necessarily need them. Repetitive though they may have gotten towards the end, some of them were so good that I didn't really mind. I especially loved "Right Hand from Behind" which only made a bunch of really awesome fight scenes that much cooler. I felt that the pacing started to slog towards the last few chapters, but aside from that, it's probably one of the best VNs I've ever read. Sona-nyl is a day 1 purchase for me now and I can't wait for its release. I started ef* a fairy tale of the two. Quick first impressions: really good hook. The first scene had a certain mood to it, which was amplified by a lack of music. Music is really important to VNs, but I feel that sometimes silence can be just as powerful in setting a tone. Since then, the tracks that I've heard have been overall good, but I can't say that they're anything to write home about. Yuuko is cute, but I honestly find Miyako and Kei to be a bit off-putting as heroines. I can't say I'm too fond of characters that feel like they'd be annoying or hard to keep up with in real life, haha. And the other main thing that hit me was the abundance of CGs. I honestly feel like I've spent more time looking at CGs than sprites so far, which is really impressive as a whole. The VN has a cinematic feel to it. I just sort of wish the male cast's faces didn't look so strange; they clash really badly with the rest of the VN. As a whole, it seems pretty good so far. I hear that Remember11 is really good and on one hand, I think I'd probably enjoy it, but on the other, a bad ending is a huuuuuuge turn-off. I'm not sure I could deal with that, especially after getting hooked, haha.

I use chiitrans. Off the top of my head (I could be wrong) , VNR doesn't have that problem, but I was too lazy to install it. As for Higurashi, it would probably have been better if you hadn't seen the anime first, but as someone who did, there's a certain enjoyment that comes from reading Higurashi knowing all of the answers. The foreshadowing is pretty fun to pick up on, and the VN fills in details that the anime didn't have time for. There's one scene at the end of the third arc that makes the VN worth reading even if you have seen the anime all on it's own. It goes at a pretty slow pace though, for better or worse.

Don't apologize, I haven't even read it myself, I'm not offended. That sort of thing isn't for everyone . I really want to read Iwaihime, I love denpa and it's written by the person who wrote Umineko, but I couldn't get my text parser to work with it . If you're familiar with Higurashi or Umineko and like those things, then you should probably give Iwaihime a shot. And if you do, tell me how it goes, it will probably help motivate me to get better at Japanese. That makes me very excited for what's to come.

It looks like I'm going with ef first. That's probably good, I feel like I've read a lot of dark/plot focused things lately and I need a breather. Besides, I figure a break from what I like most will help them have more impact later . Shortly after that I'm definitely playing Danganronpa, it sounds like a lot of people think I'll like it (and they're probably right, my list makes my tastes pretty transparent ). I might end up playing Aviary Attorney in between. My understanding is that it's sort of like Ace Attorney but with bird puns, lol. Also I really like the lip-synced animal sprites (the screencap with the elephant made me laugh quite a bit). It's not directly related to Phoenix Wright, but I've actually heard pretty good things about it from the few who have gone and played it, and though there aren't very many, the VNDB scores seem alright. VNDB says that it's short (2-10) hours, so maybe worth checking out yourself if you're interested?
-
I think I would generally prefer something like Danganronpa, I like dark tones/mystery more, but I can also enjoy a well executed romance and I feel like I haven't read one in too long. Like I said, I can't decide , and the poll is tied. If it doesn't change when I wake up tomorrow, I'm probably just going to random.org, haha.

I just finished Inganock (which was absolutely fantastic, by the way), and I'm not sure what to read next. So I'm letting Fuwa decide~ ef looks really good from a visual standpoint, and I've heard good things about the story. The whole "separate plotlines which converge to form one cohesive story" really appeals to me, too. Danganronpa is apparently really fun. I'm not normally all that fond of gameplay VNs, but there are exceptions I've been meaning to get around to this one anyway. Pretty famous as a whole, so part of me feels like I should at least try it if only to check it off of a bucket list. Aviary attorney looks like a cross between Hatoful Boyfriend and Phoenix Wright and that's more than reason enough to get it.

If my Heart had Wings sounds pretty suitable. I would also recommend Karakara. Both of these things have a rather relaxing atmosphere and cute art, if that's what you want. IMMHW is longer, while Karakara can be finished in a few hours at most. And if you end up getting If my Heart had Wings, make sure you install the restoration patch.
