I have no idea, and in all honesty the idea is really intimidating ... How did you guys start? How would you recommend doing it?

I could probably go on and on, but I'll just say Beatrice from Umineko, and Mary from Sharnoth. I'm a huuuuuuge sucker for Victorian dresses. I like Beatrice's outfit more, but Mary gets extra points for heterochromia.

I've finished all of the main routes and I'm on my second side route, but in all honesty, I'm a bit tired of this VN and what I've read of the side routes doesn't seem nearly as good as the rest... Would it be okay to just go straight to agave, or am I really missing out on something?

You just need to keep practicing, and eventually you'll get it. It's really tricky and takes a lot of work, but it's very rewarding. Like anything else, if you keep working on it, you'll definitely get better Just be patient. がんばれ~!

Oooh, this one looks really good and I haven't even heard of it before. Thank you for the recommendation I really want to read this one, but I'm not nearly good enough yet I'll keep practicing and read it eventually. Same thing, I probably would have great difficulty reading this right now... With that said, I might end up trying even though I know that it's not the best option. I/O and Root double are both on my backlog. They both look great, and I hope to get to them eventually. From what I've heard, this one isn't very good... Hi, I want something dark and grotesque. I've been reading too many happy things lately, I need something to balance it out. I'd prefer it to be short, but it doesn't have to be. Untranslated should be fine, but I'm pretty new so nothing really difficult. Bonus points for denpa. A good example would be Chaos;head, which I have on hold for when I need an all ages game to play. That has the perfect atmosphere and the killings are to the point where I could consider them to be an art.

Okay, it's good to hear that Cocoro@function isn't difficult. I think I'm going to start off with a few pulltop games and maybe Sonohana. Ahaha, I wasn't intending on immediately jumping into R07 or chunige, I doubt I would have the patience and I'd need to constantly look things up. Do you think that being able to get through those once I've been studying for half a year would be a reasonable goal?

Nice to find someone with similar tastes The Cartagra/Kns series, Chaos;Head, Umineko, Higurashi, and Muv Luv Alternative are all good bets. edit: Oh, and Kikokugai and Higanbana have a rather dark atmosphere that you might like.

The release is scheduled for February this year. It looks like it will focus on Azuki and best girl Coconut, so that's something to look forward to.

I can't read Japanese yet, but I'm planning on learning. For when I am able, how difficult is it? And I plan to read Eden* soon too. I guess I'll do that this week, I have a lot of time on my hands right now.
