Suddenly? Eroge isn't something new and neither are hentai manga, anime, or doujinshi. And there are different kinds of otaku.

What elitist bullshit.

Dorei to no Seikatsu Translation by [Dekiru Translations]
bigfatround0 replied to Hackrabbits's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I'm guessing not good. Going by the screenshots they left "anata" untranslated. There might be other parts like that. -
I loved the movie. It made me cry and it made me laugh. I give it a 10/10

It literally tells why it won't let you. -
If you're confused about why things don't flow well, then just ask. No need to stand on my front porch and hurl insults. You'll find I'm good like that. That's funny....

I think you might have ended up at the wrong blog by mistake? I wasn't the translator on the project; I was the editor. It was my job to turn Engrish into English. And while there are lots of things I would change, I think I did a fairly good job of that overall. Especially compared to the raw text I was given. If you have a bone to pick about the translation, that's fine. But since my name isn't MDZ, this is probably the wrong place to do it. I don't speak Japanese. I don't translate Japanese. It's like me complaining to my interior decorator about why there are cracks in my house's foundation, y'know? You're welcome to stay and voice your opinions, positive or negative. I'm more than okay with that. But I would ask that you try to be a little more civil about it. Thanks! I know who you are. I also know what the work of an editor is. I'm just confused as to how you chose to leave/use certain words that don't flow good.

You're making it sound like I'm the only one with a problem. If you ask around then more people would chime in. Hell, this guy mentioned something about liking or disliking the translation in the post so he probably knows that it's a shit job. You might be right but that same mindset is holding back polished translations. The reason official companies get away with it is because a lot of people are happy just reading the work. If no one complains then they'll just keep on playing dumb and releasing shit translations.

Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, Pokemon.

I'm just a person that likes VNs. What kind of credentials are needed? Cause I think that's enough to criticize it. I would expect you to be able to produce a work of the same magnitude and of greater quality. Otherwise, what I expect from you is a "hey, thanks for doing the translation/editing, but I think you could have done better", not "trash tier". Not to sound ungrateful but trash needs to be called trash. This is why fan translations and official works aren't exactly the best. If more people complained then they'd release a more polished product.

I understand what you mean but for some reason this one translation is the worst I've ever seen imo. I'm not saying there aren't worse translations out there but this one suffers from choosing weird word choices. Sometimes I even had to look up uncommon words used. They're not hard words but uncommon enough that I forget what they mean.
-
I can critique it if I want though. It's not like it's free from criticism just because it's a fan translation. Of course you can call it "trash-tier" for the use of a certain word, much like the rest of us can laugh at you for it. Now, I'm sure there's more to it than a word, but the comments you're leaving here are so incredibly nonconstructive that there's nothing to take from them. It's not just because of zurui. It's been a week since I finished playing it so I don't really remember much about it besides that word. I highly doubt I'm the only that's criticized it so you can just look up bad reviews and find the faults with it.

Not really. The average fan-translation is garbage, and I'd say this was a lot better. Far from perfect, but you should probably stop getting so incredibly anal over a single word. It's not a single word. Even then, the overuse of a single word can greatly ruin the experience. It did in my case for Umi's route.

Mom, I told you not to stalk me on Fuwa. Say what you want but I'm not wrong.
-
Too bad the translation/editing was trash tier.
-
They could have used "unfair" or "devious" , "crafty" or something. Tricky sounds more like swindling/scamming someone. Or they could contact me. I'm like a walking thesaurus. xD "Unfair" is the most used translation of zurui. I don't understand why they decided to use "tricky". Either the translator or the editor thought they were being clever but it ended up backfiring.
-
It's tricky for the translation of KoiRizo to use "tricky" so much. I'm seriously getting ready to drop this shit. I have never had any problems with any translations before this mess.

Funimation sending DMCA takedowns over anime screenshots on Twitter
bigfatround0 replied to Down's topic in Anime/Manga Talk
You guys are overreacting as much as funimation is. -
The music really messed it up. Should have kept the original audio.

If you think fuwa is shitty, then why the hell are you here? cause I can? I used to visit this place a while ago and I occasionally come and lurk when I'm bored.

This place used to be a circlejerk before and after aaeru. Only recently did it start to change but that change made people leave.
