Japanese market sales compared to Western market sales?
Dark_blade64 replied to Dark_blade64's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Yeah that is something I have considered aswell too, yet many people say most vn sold over here do pretty good although they don't sell that many copies, but I've heard selling like 2000-3000 copies is still good for many of them or something so I got curious. -
Japanese market sales compared to Western market sales?
Dark_blade64 replied to Dark_blade64's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I was just trying to give an example... Now I know it depends how much money you have throw towards your project, but we are talking here about projects that have already be made in Japan and are just being translated. Surely the cost will be less than the initial cost so the amount of money to make any profit would be less aswell. Or at least that I assume? -
Alright I'll start by giving out a more detailed explanation about what I'm going on here. As a matter of fact I know already many visual novels from Japan seems to do well here in term of sales, but how much would you say it dictates a visual novel must sell in order to be considered well for a company? I know it differ from company to company but let just say a visal novel over here sell like 2000 copies and get half a million dollar, would that rather count as selling pretty well, so so, or poor?

No I don't care about rules. My english sucks anyway so if for some reason I manage to properly write a whole sentence down is just because it comes natural. I'm better at understanding english than what I am speaking it or writing it. And I'm not saying is not necessary or anything I was just giving out my sincere opinion. (Alright maybe is not sincere but, duh! Details!)

They do really care about all this rules of how to speak in Japan.
-
So basically it could mean many things. But you guys were talking about a certain way of saying it or am I wrong?
-
Why are you guys getting so worked up because a simple word? What doesn even boku mean anyway?
-
This game reminds me of tears to tiara. What kind of audience do you guys think it would appeal to? How is the gameplay? I'm getting kinda curious and I dunno if I'm going to purchase it the first day it is released or not.

Is this thread about football or somekind of lame sport? Who are the panther kitties or whatever feline family they belong to???

I'm the kind of guy who would probably play almost anykind of game regardless graphics or style. Now what type of artwork do I like? I would say anything that has its own unique style (I'm not particularly picky ) For example: Stein's Gate, Cho Dengeki Stryker (Has good variety of character artwork, except women who most has a similar style), Digimon, Gahkthun, Daganronpa, Blazblue, Persona 3 and 4 or Chaterine style, smt franchise style, megaman games, Doraemon and many more...

I'm giving you out an advice... Alright when it is about making games what most people tends to look at is how good the story is and how good the writing is! Your game can look pretty awesome in term of graphic but at long run it will prejudice the image of your team/company and people will get tired with time. Now this strat of selling games based of using graphics only seem to work by implementing fanservice. (Winged cloud is a perfect example of what I'm talking about.) Now if your game has good story and writing it will sell probably good but that depends if people don't avoid it because of having bad graphics. (Many just assume games are bad because they don't have good artwork.) And one last important thing. Your drawing style. And I'm not judging or anything but even if your game has good graphics it also depends in which style you decide to use to attract a certain type of audience. What I mean is that for example most games with japanese artwork tend to be bashed by the community not because they have anything risky but only because many question the characters because people tends to always to exaggerate about the image being to kiddy and call everything being pedophilic when is clearly is not sometimes. That and be prepared to deal with trolls and haters... (Yeah I know my english sucks if by some reason someone wants to make fun of it but I tried to point out some things and give you a personal advice. Now I'm not saying everything I said is correctly or anything. This is just based of my personal experience already and by no means I'm saying you have to follow the advice and if you do consider something I said is your own decision)

Thinking of getting into mainline Shin Megami Tensei
Dark_blade64 replied to Funyarinpa's topic in Gaming Talk
Well for me is the opposite I liked Persona Q gameplay except I wished you didn't have to draw the map again after you game over unless you save the game. Anyway I guess those who said this did take place after persona mayonaka and ultimax were wrong then. -

Persona Q is more like a game made for fans where the cast from persona 3/4 crosses path. Not quite sure but I'm positive I heard somewhere it was a sequel for both persona fighting games and serve as an ending to that story. -
Isn't that the point of the VN?

Food for the tought: Both persona 3/4 are RPG. Shin megami tensei IV I won't say it is accessible by any means. Unless you have some experience with playing rpg and know how to exploit some strat I would say absolutely go with easy difficulty otherwise is more about having good rng and be the first to act. Most bosses are basically just hit them untill you find their weakness. Also if you have bad luck low-level enemies can still wipe out your party if you aren't careful. And here comes the best tip! Don't spend points in ST is not worthy. Now if you want to try something else I would recommend playing Chaterine which in my opinion a fun game with unique gameplay or at least I haven't seen any similar game like it. -
Unconfirmed possibility of a huge 9th planet
Dark_blade64 replied to Suzu Fanatic's topic in General Discussion
If it is something else out there I doubt it will turn out to be something interesting or noteworthy. Now if it turns out to be a planet they won't do nothing either way, so it doesn't really matter. -
Welcome to this den of depravity! Where people gather to discuss pointless stuff and discuss adult topics. (Nah just kidding. Please don't straight runaway.) And now heading to the normal conversation part, I enjoy basically playing anykind of genre unless the age requirement is above 18+. Some of my favorite games are: Team Buddies, most digimon games, Pvz Garden Warfare, Patapon games, Persona 3 and 4, Chaterine, One Piece Mansion, Bioshock games, Little Big planet 1 and 2... And many more

Why not searching around in the internet? There is many sites dedicating to cooking with actual recipes to look at. You can search for healthy ones there while making sure it might be something of your taste. There is also some youtube channels with tutorials of how preparing different foods you could also look there.

To be honest one of my favorite things about the first game was it gameplay. The only biggest issue I had with the first one is that it lacked more levels.

Nice to meet you pal! Fellow gamer. If you have been gaming for so long then you must know that feeling when finding somekind of new genre of games that you haven't tried and have a blast playing something new. Just what happened to me last year when thankful I noticed I could actually play visual novels if I purchase them from steam. What kind of games do you like sir?

Root Double- Before Crime * After Days - Kickstarter launched!
Dark_blade64 replied to Decay's topic in Visual Novel Talk
That is easily fixed by spreading the word in those sites who don't meet the criteria of having using pirate stuff in the past or present. I know a couple of sites if you are interested of knowing them. For example gamefaqs is a gaming site with lots of information about game and also a site to discuss gaming stuff. You should probably commenting on the anime or PC section though. They won't be friendly of course but if the point is to gather some backers you might aswell give it a try. Now if you don't want to that would be an another matter. -

Just saying but even if you think is fine that doesn't mean everyone will take it the same way.
