  1. 地(ち)= The ground
  2. 乳(ちち)= Milk (from whatever mammal)
  3. Can I use that for my Japanese class, pretty good tongue-twister? 血道(ちみち)= Blood vessel, also used in set expression 血道を上げる = be obsessed with
  4. I have a very mild case of vertigo, but I try to get over it with variating results such as closing my eyes and shaking when going up in transparent lifts and then looking into a wall at the top of the building, but sometimes I succeed in getting a glimpse of the view with my eyes or a camera. It's a problem because I love architecture. And one other peculiar problem I have, I feel extreme discomfort touching my own nails or teeth directly with my fingers. I said this to a dentist once, he answered me "I don't like touching teeth either" I don't think I believe him though.
  5. Grisaia ~ would be cool in a mainroute + route, reset, next route format, but it has to be quality production for me to accept it. But generally speaking I think it's hard making good animes out of VNs because anime is so much more stricter with episode lengths and pacing. Some VNs are probably easier to make animes out of than other.
  6. 逐一(ちくいち)= In detail
  7. 駐日(ちゅうにち)= Japanese resident
  8. 力持ち(ちからもち)= strong man
  9. 中日(ちゅうにち)= middle day either referring to the day night and day is equal length or middle day of month
  10. 近道(ちかみち)= shortcut
  11. 父(ちち)= father
  12. 血(ち)= blood
  13. Welcome! I think you've come to the right place, here you'll find nothing but people wanting to talk about VNs, anime etc. Japanese cultural stuff.
  14. 見合い(みあい)= Marriage arrangement
  15. Papakiki, dangerous version http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Tm7pmwFIQ4
  16. Okey, here's next picture.
  17. 飲んだくれ(のんだくれ)= drunkard
  18. Nagasarete Airantou? I think there was a rice cooker in that one
  19. I try to read at least two hours each day when I get home from University on weekdays but more (half days) on weekends and on holidays. It's often evening/night when I read them. I don't play much other video games so my free time is quite dedicated for VNs.
  20. I feel VN is the perfect format. You get the active reading where you choose the tempo and get time to reflect like in books but you also get the graphics and often voice acting like in movies/anime. And VNs do not simply combine the best aspects of books and moving pictures, it lets you really take the role of the protagonist with choices. To sum it up VN is the format for me, the other media are too strict in some aspects to beat the concept of VNs.
  21. It's hard giving a simple answer of how hard the text is. But I think you'll manage if you've read Black Cyc titles. What speaks for reading Meikyuu is that the plot doesn't involve too complex things, and there hasn't been walls of texts without voices yet. The pacing is quite good and vndb lists it as a medium length novel. One important note though, if you don't understand the witty Grisaia jokes untranslated, wait for the translation.
  22. I can read Japanese with some help, it would be weird of me to pick up Meikyuu otherwise, wouldn't it? I already have started Michiru route, and thus far I can tell the comedy holds high standards, as with Kajitsu. I'll keep Clephas advice in mind and do the main story in the end and prepare Rakuen before starting that.
  23. Hello all of you reading VNs in Japanese, hope there is someone who has read this title and can tell me which story is best to start of with. I'd like to save best to last and want to avoid starting stories which spoils later ones.
  24. 能(のう)= Noh play
  25. 1) Even if I think I could manage without internet, no network at all means no phone network wired or not. That would be more cumbersome than having to use a stereo for playing sound and collecting records. To get to school/work and back: 1. Taking the overcrowded buss, meaning you have to stand in 40 min on motorway/freeway. 2. Taking the slow train that stops at every village, takes 1h but you get a seat.
