  1. Ah, ~Monogatari? Felt SHAFT-ish but I couldn't tell if it might've been Shin Sekai Yori or that Samurai Flamenco thing from a few years back that I never saw. xD
  2. Confession: I don't know who that is, but I want to know who he is.
  3. I am both shocked, puzzled and ashamed that nobody has mentioned PUNCHLINE yet. Already starts of quite good and it's only getting more amazing with each episode. Don't let the pantsu fool you! It's written by the same guy as Ever17! Stop ignoring it! Q_Q Though I can't say much without spoiling, so I'll just leave it at that. Other than that, I'll admit I'm in the DanMachi tribe as well - though the elf/supporter girl are leagues above Hesita for me personally. Mostly because I have a minor elf fetish and the supporter reminds me slightly of my waifu. That said, DanMachi is quite a well-executed show. Sure it's campy action/comedy with a harem that doesn't take itself seriously most of the time, but the promises for that are set up perfectly right from the outset - something that already far exceeds SAO on that subject in particular, making it stronger even if they're more or less the same once you dig into the details. It knows what it does and does it beautifully - to the point of the moments when it wants to try and hit you in the gut becoming stronger than normal as a result of that contrast with the ultra-comedy/slight-fanservice tone it takes as a norm. The action scenes feel quite well-done to me as well.
  4. One way I've heard it put is that Marvel is about normal people being superheroes, whereas DC is about superheroes being normal people. Marvel heroes usually have some flaw to them, aren't considered 'all-powerful', etc, such as Spider man or some random angsty teenager X-man. DC superheroes are usually larger than life and super-powerful to a degree, such as Superman. In-general, weak characters are most interesting at their strongest, whereas strong characters are most interesting when they fail. As a result, you get Marvel being about weak people learning to be strong, and DC being about larger-than-life heroes failing to save someone. It's a concept that definitely requires a bit more insight, and I don't know much about comics at all, but it's something that could be interesting to keep in mind when looking at the two and superheroes as a whole. Really the only thing I heard is just the 'thesis statement', everything after that is just my interpretation of it based on writing knowledge.
  5. Confession: I should've gone to bed four hours ago. Night everyone! On the bright side though, I did get more writing done.
  6. Finding this song really good recently.
  7. And there's absolutely nothing anywhere on how to undo the chapter unlock. Edit: Quick question, does the end of your story have anything else to do with Umineko references? Because I'd rather not spoil myself anymore than I already have at this point. For clarity's purpose, Umineko's mechanics are really all in the text. Just go through the first chapter like normal, and you'll get to the point where the second one is unlocked as you go along. Don't forget to do the first Tea Party and ???'s after you finish the first episode.
  8. Confession: I wasn't actually getting popcorn. It was a metaphor for the meaning of life.
  9. Confession: This is going to turn out poorly, and I'm already grabbing the popcorn.
  10. Well sorry for not being an expert on my first try. You: Hold up one sec *pulls super fresh Nikes outta nowhere, puts them on, starts dancin around like Eddie from Tekken* iight now I'm ready. Bring it bitch. there. I indeed posted a pic of myself on the previous page. And ahh yes I see you have. I like your, uh, hair(?) "The image your are requesting does not exist or is no longer available." Would seem there were some errors with getting it up.
  11. Okay, this made me laugh.
  12. As another aspie, it's commonly understood that we have a lack of ability in social situations, so he could be drawing from that. The short of it is that perhaps outside-ness in such areas could be overwhelming, although it definitely varies from person to person. I'm not much for dating-specific sites, as they seem extrovert-specific, though I'm not opposed to meeting someone online either. Again though, this logic has its faults as well.
  13. DAAAAAH I have failed. YOU TENTACLE-TEACHER-SQUID-THING! Q_Q
  14. I'll just divert the topic back then... Confession: My phone broke and I got a new one. It's only been one day and I'm already convinced I should have done this sooner.
  15. Gah, I'm late to the betting! ALWAYS BET ON SELF!
  16. Hm...maybe I could grab an old draft from high school and see what the response is like? *Glances at old folders* NOPE. NOPE. IT BURNS MY SOUL. ...I'm going to need to do this, now, aren't I? Introducing, Zodai's first chapter. If you need to bleach your eyes, please grab some in advance. After that, since your mind and soul are most likely tainted beyond recognition, here's something a little more recent that I'm currently working on. Enjoy!
  17. It can 'work' but it requires you to have very little responsibilities IRL. In-general I'm trying to put myself back onto a standard schedule. Takes a lot of strength to not get back up after ~20 minutes and open up the laptop though.
  18. As someone with consistent sleep issues, this information is relevant to my interests. I have a hard time getting to sleep on a regular basis ;-;
  19. Pleasantly surprised at your opinions of us. Apologies if we bothered you a bit too much I don't see anything wrong with the score table in and of itself, at least from my perspective.
  20. Confession, I just woke up.
  21. I'm writing it, just doing something on the side as well. xD
  22. Not that I know of. Though Coliseum threads are usually a bit more lenient on this kind of stuff - they're a lot less serious than the more focused boards. Something like that would probably go in the Member's Lounge.
  23. Hm...fair enough, I suppose my logic may have counter arguments. That said, school has generally resulted in expensive emotional breakdowns from personal experience (another subject entirely), are there any places aside from that you would recommend? I mean, I'll admit I try to find excuses to get out from time to time, though they're usually accompanying my mother since I have no otherwise method of transportation. Are the possibilities of being viewed as a creep quite high or is just walking up and attempting to communicate an acceptable option? Are there spots more accustomed to introverts as opposed to extroverts? What of the processes required to increase ones' social capabilities Themes for me are more about something that ties things together. A theme-heavy story has the theme baked into every conflict within, but it's those conflicts that form the basis of the promises as opposed to the themes doing it directly. You represent the themes in the form of conflicts and characters, then use those pieces to set and fulfill the promises.
  24. Am I the only one who acknowledges FuwaFabulous' existence?
  25. My priority is usually character-first, but plot and beginnings/endings are about promises. Beginnings set them up, endings fulfill them, and 'plot' is defined as your ability to set those up and fulfill them. Characters give context to those promises and makes them have meaning, and setting provides a backdrop for the characters to interact. That's just how I think about it, though. In-general if you write from the end first, you have to think about what promises that ending fulfills, then set them up in the beginning scenes.
