  1. After much intense discussion, we have come to a conclusion that the world has gone on too long with a severe lack of waifus. As a result, we shall create a Waifu Realization Unit (MA-WaRU Project) to bring these particular females into the physical realm. Conduct our research well, and perhaps this project shall come to fruition. *Must be in possession of a BA in Animology, Waifuism or have completed the Waifu 303 class.
  2. Regrettably, there is very little information on that page.
  3. Right, let's see. While I'm working on a different project on my end, here are a few resources I like to pass around. http://www.writingexcuses.com/ http://davidfarland.net/writing_tips/ The first is probably the best writing podcast on the net. The second is an advice column by the guy who taught half the podcast members, though you'll notice some of the articles are basically copy/pastes of previous ones. Not going to go too heavy on this since it's a learning project, but I'd say open a word document and get to writing ASAP. Improve on it as much as you can while you wait for members to come up.
  4. Oh, it's a Liar-Soft game? Liar-Soft is cool But it doesn't seem to be translated D:
  5. After some thought, something like this seems to be what I've come to? I suppose?
  6. Alright, fair enough. We know stuff comes up sometimes beyond our control. Good luck!
  7. Preferred to be an introvert, but other than that just ask. My dating pool is barely larger than an iota and if this hypothetical female lived close enough for something such as a date then it would probably be worth consideration at least. The more detailed parts are best learned along the way or something.
  8. The conversation might have something to do with how gender is viewed as a whole in society. ...Or something. Whenever the subject comes up there's always a ton of landmines to weave around else you end up saying something you regret ;-; Personally though, we have to look at how gender effects our outlook on someone, in addition to gender specific aspects such as romance. The internet as a whole has a lot to do with it as well, both in terms of anonymity and the standard experience of the introverts who commonly use the internet. It's a subject that spreads about the internet as opposed to just something like Fuwanovel, and I can't even begin to figure out how to express it without turning it into a personal parable. Sadly though, I'm sleepy and my ability to express my reasoning in a way I'm comfortable with is low at the moment.
  9. Like Flutterz said, Shin Sekai Yori.
  10. May we have a moment of silence for LinovaA ... SATSUKI! MONMON! How could you!?! ;-;
  11. Let the craziness commence. Naturally, I bet on myself.
  12. Seems things are making progress in this, yes? Though I haven't really noticed the thread until now. Do you have any examples? As in, previous works by the writers so we know what to expect. It can be a good measure for the audience of what to expect in terms of quality, and it lets us give feedback on the writing style itself, which can be good for knowing what to look to improve during current development.
  13. As one of the few to hear his voice prior, I am glad to see his majesty can be shared.
  14. I never got into Sunrider to begin with, sadly, but it seems to be one of the larger 'franchises' in the VN-scape. While personally I'm unsure what I think about it, and it seems to be pumping out the sequels quite quickly, they're doing a good job with it considering how people seem to be going on about them. Like I said, I'm not reading it myself, but at this stage I'm incredibly curious on how long they can keep things interesting, and whether or not it turns into a milked franchise or ends on a high note. It's the first real franchise-level experiment in the OELVN world so far, or at least the only one with more than a single release out yet (disregarding Sakura games, RIP Dysfunctional Systems) so as someone interested in watching things grow it's not like you can just turn your head and watch it pass by, regardless of whether you're part of the audience or just observing how it develops.
  15. I should be updating my game but I'm doing so much right now D:
  16. Well, since the thread explicitly states the Western Market, it isn't like OELVNs can be ignored entirely. Unsure what DID Syndrome is, though.
  17. I feel like it's more a development thing than anything else. There seems to be a higher degree of otome game developers than there are 'standard' VN developers around here. Frankly, I don't have a way to know why this is, but the result is that Otome game players have a readily accessible pool of OELVNs to go to as opposed to instead of figuring out how to weave through the mass of translated Japanese games. The barrier to entry has been lowered, and we've come to a point where the genre, while still a niche, is certainly thriving to some degree. tl;dr OELVN otome games plentiful and easier to get than Japanese ones, and they outnumber standard OELVN by a wide margin.
  18. Ayakashibito is considerably less chuuni than Comyu, TBH. They're still somewhat chuuni but it's balanced out much more well than in comyu. The guidelines are a bit too general for me to find anything spot-on that fits them, but I think Ayakashibito is at least worth consideration. Not worth throwing off right out the gate. Seems Ayakashibito might be a good fit then, actually.
  19. One thing I feel like I should point out is that it's very easy to underestimate the effort that goes into writing. It's just as difficult as the other areas, only that we use language so often that it's easy to get something 'readable.' http://www.writingexcuses.com/ For starters, here's a place I tend to use often. Look for guidance, try to grasp things. Everything starts at the beginning. Grab a word document or something of similar description, and get some words on a page. Show it off see how people respond, then do it again. Repeat the process, stronger each time. Like the pounding of a hammer over ten-thousand years. Again and again, until the spark has been revealed. Basically, just write something. Find a story, no matter what it is, and try to craft it into the text. Get people to read it, use their feedback, then do it again. Eventually by the time you get the VN project started, you'll have the experience to make it something strong. Good luck
  20. (Apologies for the delay, things were a bit crazy today.)
  21. Umineko would have to be my all-time favorite. Fate/Stay Night and the other Typemoon works are considered classics as well. There's also Cross Channel if you have a penchant for things outside the ordinary, and Ayakashibito is a special pick of mine among the less-known VNs out there.
  22. Maybe I'm the pervert?...)
