I have finished the main engine for the game that will allow me to write the game as a script. I have decided to use the full screen instead of a screen within a screen like I previously thought I would do. I find a full screen image more immersive. I have started work on the beginning of the game. I will make a version available within a few weeks (I hope) that will allow you to see how the game will look and play. It will be very short but I want to get feedback as soon as possible so the game can evolve in a good direction while I work on it. Here is an image of one of the first scenes: Website

Marcus-beta, thanks for the suggestions but I will use Unity to program the game. I have a programming background and want to learn it. It may also help if I want to do things that are not possible in VN engines. Ittaku, thanks, and glad to meet someone our age Are you programming a VN yourself? Leaf, thanks! Thanks for the welcomes Arcadeotic, are you a dev yourself? And if so, what is your project? Littleshogun, the image and story will be modified to allow for the player to play a male or female. It will require more renders and more story so that's why I have a Patreon goal just for adding the male character. The original story will only be with a female character. I have posted a test interface in the project's thread if you want to take a look a it and let me know what you think about it. Funyarinpa ahahah I haven't heard this in a very long time! Thanks Flutterz, thanks! I don't have a favorite VN as I haven't played any as far as I remember. I decided to make a VN because I wanted to start with a relatively game to make since I am working alone on the project.

Thanks Striker! (Reminds me of Airplane 1 or 2? ) Here's a quick test interface I made. Don't take into account the copyright and the ladies that have their arms in the air. It's just to give a general idea of the look of the interface. It's very basic but I think that it should work well. The bottom left will show the player character, the bottom right will show the character who the player is currently interacting with. The text will appear before the options but the current image, being static, shows both at the same time. I would like to know what you think: NSFW Interface Test

Hello! I am 46 years old and have been programming almost my entire life. I've always wanted to create a game but life wasn't interested. But now I have the possibility to create one so I will start by making a VN style game (with some differences). Entire civilizations have been destroyed, others have escaped... for a while. No one is safe. You are the leader (female or male depending on the Patreon support) of a world facing obliteration. Will you find a way to escape the impending doom? Last Days of the Universe is the title of the first project by AdultSciFi. It's an adult science-fiction visual novel. The game is programmed in Unity and will be available for PC and other platforms (to be determined). Development versions will be released from time to time. Yeah, for now there's not much besides rendering tests. The prototype I will make will give a better idea of the game itself. When it is ready I will be able to post screenshots and the prototype game for those who will want to test it. I will probably make the game read like a comic book in the way that characters will probably have speech bubbles. The text will also appear in rectangles like in comics. I had this idea when I played a VN and found that I was confused as to who was saying what. I also prefer that the characters not face me but face my player character when talking. So the player character will be visible in the scenes. But that may change, that's what I intend to test with the prototype. We'll see if it's fun to play that way. Thanks for the feedback!

Hello, I'm new here. I have been reading some threads for a little while because I am starting work on a VN and wanted to know what the general opinions are on VNs. This is the best forum I found on the subject. I thought about waiting for a prototype to be ready before talking about my project my finally decided that it might be better to start a discussion thread before the prototype. This way the discussion might influence the work on the prototype. For now I'll leave the project's website here: http://adultscifi.net (NSFW) and wait for comments on the visual style of the game.
