  1. The problem with DosBox Turbo is that you can only create a hdd of 2GB. I tried looking at R11, Ever17, Fate/Stay Night...but they are all too big. I was able to run Tsukihime at a decent speed without sound but turning on sound made it slow and choppy. I have a Tegra 3 device with some test run with TOPBENCH. The results weren't too promising. We may need a more powerful device. If anyone knows how to create an hdd.img greater than 2GB then we can try some of these others. I tried to ask for help from the creator of that video and (comments now deleted by the mods there) he had some choice hostile words for me. *shrug*
  2. Thanks for your work and help. EDIT: Tay, Although I was able to proceed I am experiencing an error when saving. java.io.IOException: Error saving:: java.io.UTFDDataFormat\Exception: String more than 65535 UTF bytes long. It looks like it saves, but when I try to load the file it takes me to the title screen. Perhaps it would be a good idea to try clean files.
  3. I tried to ask the creator of the video for help here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2410203&page=6 but that didn't turn out so well.
  4. I ran topbench in the dosbox 98 shell with governor set to performance at 1.3 and memory manager set to "hard gaming"...usually to keep as much RAM available. Cycles Auto/ Frameskip 0 = 16-50mhz (score 25-45) to 66-75 mhz (score 189) at 20000 cycles, all the way up to a score of 1541 with 55000 Cycles and 1000mhz. The problem is really with the sound. Any increase in the cycles causes havoc on the sound quality. I've never used this program before so let me know if you are looking for particular settings or data. EDIT: I increase the available RAM for DOSBOX in the config from 256 to 512 and am able to run Tsukihime at good speed, but without sound. I'll keep trying to see what I come up with.
  5. The problem that I am running in to is that it supports an hdd image up to 2GB but the two I have tried so far...F/SN and R11 are both a larger size. If I can figure out how to make a 3GB hdd image to dump the files in to it might work. Until then... EDIT: I am able to run Tsukihime but it is a bit slow and choppy even with cpu set to performance 1.3. Maybe with some tweaking it can run better. I just dumped it into the 2gb hdd even though it is much smaller. maybe that might help.
  6. I'm starting the process again with a new DL and will convert it to see if there was an issue somewhere along the way. I'll post details as to my steps. Should it still become corrupted then perhaps a new zip would work, which would be quite helpful. EDIT: I used the torrent from fuwanovel and the newest version converter 1.2.5 from weeaboo.nl. I ran the converter and set it to the appropriate resolution for my device. It completed, but said there were a few background errors during the conversion. I was able to follow the base install instructions to put it on my device and load it as normal. I went back to the save that I had used and it ended up being corrupted in the same place. I am going to try from the beginning with a new save EDIT 2: I started from a new game and the same thing happened...however by flying through the game on AUTO after about 30-40 lines it went back to English and continued on. Hopefully this is an isolated incident.
  7. I have a 1.3 quad core tegra 3 device and Dosbox Turbo. I actually hadn't thought about using it to run Ever17 or F/SN. Now I'm not to well versed with the app but I can at least give it a go.
  8. Hello everyone. After completing 999 for the NDS and Corpse Party for PSP I went to Google to search for other "games like 999". That introduced me to the Visual Novel scene. Most of my available reading time is spent my desk at work on an Android tablet so naturally I stumbled upon VNDS Interpreter. I read that Ever17 was particularly good so I started there and completed it (wow). That only served to get me more interested in the genre. I obtained Fate/Stay Night and Never7 for VNDS and am currently working my way through the former (although having problems with the text) and am looking forward to some others like Danganronpa. Special thanks to those at visualnovelaer.fuwanovel.net/, fuwanovel.net, and all the translators and contributors for bringing these great stories to those of us in the west. Looking forward to this community. Any other suggestions on some good VNs for Android? Cheers.
  9. I followed the directions here: http://visualnovelaer.fuwanovel.net/2013/02/android-sundays-fatestay-night/ and got up to the part where you head to Ryudou Temple after Saber and the sound cuts out and I see a bunch of Japanese characters. Repeatedly tapping results in the text continuing in Japanese but no sound or image changes. I followed that blog and had no problems with Ever17. I was really enjoying F/SN and would like to finish it. Any help would be appreciated.
