There's tons of fun (it's a 50+ hours beast) and even when there's feels it's not the ultra depressive kind for the most part.

    It's a shame they're treating us like babies and making the decision for us. If they're not into the H scenes they could just release two versions to accommodate both markets with a clean and an explicit version. For possible legal reasons I can understand the loli stuff, but other than that I don't get it.

    I'm pretty sure that's not needed for Grisaia - at least I didn't run in JP Locale and it worked just fine. I don't know if it varies from OS to OS. For comparisons sake I'm using XP. I'm almost certain the problem is with the font.

    Welcome! If you want your character to meet a grisly end there's always Yandere, though it's not all that good a VN.

    Being a newcomer myself I applaud this idea. It's not always easy to determine what type of visual novel you'll get even from having tags assigned, so being able to compare specific products would be a great help sometimes.

    Hopefully "engrish" translations are more a sign of inexperienced translators rather than being on purpose. Personally I'd take a more coherent translation any day over a word-for-word translation, which is not what a good translation is about. You should preserve the context while making the content make sense in whatever language you're translating to.

    Except for reading VN's one of my main hobbies is working on games. I started out making modifications for Warcraft 3 back in 2003 and have since moved on to making actual games. After a few prototypes that went pretty far but ultimately got shelved I hope to have my first commercial release ready within the next year (if all goes well).

    Halloween isn't really celebrated here. The closest you get is stores using it as an excuse to make you buy cheap plastic pumpkins and such. When I was a child even that didn't occur and I only knew about the existence of Halloween from American cartoons.

    I like bad endings when they reveal new stuff relevant to the overarching plot of the VN, like Amanes bad ending in Grisaia. That kind of stuff really motivates you to not just settle for the good ending but check out every nook and cranny of the VN.

    Just started replaying the original Grandia a few days ago on my Vita. Still a ton of fun, though the sometimes bad voice acting is standing out at this point. Gameplay and story is still ace, however
