I'm playing this right now, and I'm laughing so much, I'm loving it! As for my first VNs... 1) Fate/Stay Night (april 2014) - needed to read my husbando's story in full glory. 2) Comyu (december 2014) - I was pumped up because of Fate and wanted more battle chuuniges. It was disappointing, never read another chuuni ever again. 3) Sekien no Inganock (august 2015) - I so wanted to read Sharnoth, but thought they are a series so I started with Inganock. I'm glad I did it! 4) Shikkoku no Sharnoth (december 2015) - What I really wanted, I was in love with the art style! In the end, I thought that Inganock was better. 5) Togainu no Chi (april 2016) - Started to be in love with BL around that time and decided to play my first BL VN. It was very disappointing, so I played many other BL VNs shortly after to fill the void. Honorable mention: I read my first otomege much later, in february 2017. Never really noticed that it took me a while...

So yeah, even shit had it's purpose; - I got myself a harem even; - I think I talk bad about Comyu some 103 times; - And talk good about Shingakkou other 134 times; - Played a lot of free BL and otomeges that I found around; - And 179 new games ended up in my backlog, rip; - Not counting non VN things, le double rip; - Made 248 edits to my posts. What even is english? - My most liked content was in the "realistic romance in VNs" thread. And I just said "No, and that's why it's good". See people, sometimes less is more! Or something... - I saw things... I wanted to unsee things... - Actually, I guess I became a bit more degenerated these last months. Somehow, I enjoyed episode 2 of Pop Team Epic more than episode 1, but maybe that's just me. I'm yet to watch episode 3 and 4 tho. Anyway, just watched episode 1 of Fate/Extra Last Encore and, as someone who have played the game (but not CCC) twice, I have no idea what's happening. For someone who doesn't know a thing about it, it will be either going forward with hype alone or be utterly confused for 20 mins. The background art is fantastic, but the characters are a bit... weird. Especially the girls. Aka Saber's eyes are huge and the fact that they stretched her legs so her clothes could be "less revealing" made her torso way too short. They also changed lots of things in regards to the plot of the prologue and wasted time with inexplicable cameos intead of showing character like Rani or even Alice. I'm also not satisfied with the attempts to "edgify" the story (like what Shinji did, the "hate, hate, hate" the MC keeps thinking, the Limbo thing, unless this one is from CCC, I don't know). I'll keep watching, but my hype already died ;___;

Slade in first? Awesome list, that arc about Terra always gets me. Kirei is also a nice pick. Personally, I'm really fond of villains that once are really righteous, but fell so hard from grace that we have to wonder what went wrong along the way. There's a character in Final Fantasy Tactics that I liked (hated actually ) that does exactly that, but the game really shows you, slowly in each chapter, what was happening to his mind. Another villain I liked, a different type from the one above, was the lucky bastard Kira Yoshikage from Jojo part 4. The guy's a serial killer with some powers and all he wants... is to be left alone, in peace, with his hand fetish (not that he wants the rest of the girls...). And you should see the lenght he goes to accomplish that! Eventually you even wonder how the heroes will get him, because luck always seems to be on his side.

Man, thank you so much for this info! I love to find these trivia and I never heard about this before. Yeah, the black and white feel is lot more gloomy and the first execution, one of the most gruesome imo because it was so long and painful, was even worse in this beta version!!! And if that room on the fifth floor was really a nod to that version... cool! Anyway, like you said it would be an interesting contrast, even if I already like Danganronpa like what it is now.

The one game I played that had this (it was more of a hentai RPG than VN, but...) was Fukai ni Nemuru Oujou no Abaddon. Gang had 3 guys and 3 girls and you can hook ANYONE with ANYONE! Super cool, but a pain to see all the CGs.

You said one, but... XD A built-in flowchart. It's also very good to see your progress, it's a must have for completionists like me. And I also liked that Comyu had a chapter menu that let you jump to EVERY SINGLE SCENE, super nice! I also like any VN that provides any kind of variation to H-scenes, else they get quickly repetitive (choices that let me choose who's gonna be on top, choices that let me ship any two people from my gang of friends, etc)

Wow, totally forgot about this... Fate have some weird bad endings, I loved that! I guess I reveal that one I put here that no one guessed after two or so tries. "It's the same thing as before but now in VR in space!" is Fate/Extra, with all that Grail War in VR stuff.

Good review, but I wanted to share my opinion about the plot points left unexplained. But you're right about the PC port, ugh.

YEAH, HOW COULD I FORGET ABOUT MURAMASA!!! It's awesome, like Odin Sphere Leifthrasir. Oh, and I played Yomawari and it's pretty cute but full of jump scares, pretty fun!!

There's a huge amount of otomeges for Vita! I recommend Code Realize, it's pretty good! The three Danganronpas, plus Ultra Despair Girls, are also there, if you did't played them on PC and like investigation games. On the non VN side, if you like JRPG, there's also a good collection of them, like Persona 4 Golden. I also like to play metroidvania games on portable, like Shantae or Salt and Sanctuary. And if you like rhythm games and weeb songs, there's also Project Diva games and Persona 4 Dancing All Night. Yeah, I also bought a Vita very cheap last year, so I'm still hyped about it, even if it kinda is a dead console XD Enjoy!
