Yeah, more dumb and cliche thing only is

were childhood friends, promised (or not) to marry each other. And hooray, this VN has both))

Atleast the latter is some way believable, a female childhood friend COULD have feelings for her male friend and have made some promise when they were kids, and the love built as they grew up. But met one time (as far as I can tell in one day?) as kids, said "lets marry" (pretty damn unlikely even for kids to do that) and she actually remembered it and went to all that trouble to do it 10 years later or something, NO, just NO.

Anyhow, currently on Unlimited, I did extra (Meiya and Sumika ofc), but also Ayamine and honestly that weirded me out, how old was that doctor guy............

  2. Wow, that is a lot of responses, thanks for the information people! Sorry for the late reply, my tactic to get this game finished is to leave it on at all times on my laptop, so that it is open when I open it =/. I have finished Sumika route, and well, yea I though it was a bit silly on the whole, but oh well. I actually did like Meiya less, I kind of hate the whole

    Spoiler

Met once when they were small kids > played together  > promised to marry trope,  it is so dumb.

Anyway, going to do Ayamine + Meiya and move on to Unlimited. Might do the teacher route in extra for the lols. Might update this thread with some thoughts at times.

  3. Ok, I had been saving Muv Luv for a while to read, and I have just decided to get started. Read a few things about the VN.

I am currently a short way into Extra, it is ok, but I knew that Alternative is where it is at.

I am thinking Sumika is really annoying, Meiya is cool and pretty hot, same goes for Ayamine, not interested in the loli, and class rep seems a bit dull.

HOWEVER I read something that totally killed my motivation for the VN:

    Spoiler

Sumika, is the main heroine/love interest in Alternative, and I cannot do anything about that... It is linear... . Honestly I had not read anything about the VN all this time (other than Alternative being the best part of it) and assumed Meiya was the main heroine -.- (the cover of the VN dammit!)

This put such a damper on my motivation for the VN.

My question? Did any of you guys think the same (having heard what I put in the spoiler) at this stage but go on to read the VN and love it?

I don't love CC. I just think it's good. It has 2 shit routes and a pretty weak ending, so just like any other moege, it's far from perfect. However, it's still quite the fun read overall, hence why I recommend it every time moege comes up.

For my own information, what were the two shit routes? I actually did only one route and stopped playing (not because I thought it was bad, I dont know why tbh). Only route I did was the sister one, I thought it was ok, albeit a bit dumb. Was going to do Makoto route next...

  5. I personally thought this was a pretty good VN, and kinda wish the fandisk/sequel was going to be translated =(.

Let me explain... Yes, some of the plot was a bit bland, Hase was a bit annoying and other characters not perfect. But what this VN did that I liked was:

    1. It had plenty of characters
    2. It brought all the main characters and a number of side characters into each route in interesting ways and most importantly each heroine felt atleast somewhat important EVEN if it was not their route. Plus even the pretty pointless characters e.g. (Anyone not Hase, Van or Tsujidou in Hase's class) get airtime in, say Renna's route. Honestly most VNs you choose a heroine route and find that 70%(or more) of the story just becomes the heroine and the protagonist. I am all for a good romance story, but if it is done this way it is just boring.

Worth playing? Which one, Komyu or 11? In ether case my answer would be no. Out of those 2 VNs together, I personally found only Kagome's route decent enough to read. Assuming that your VNDB consist of all VNs you have read and that you most likely cannot read Japanese, it would be better to read classics like F/SN + F/HA, or Tsukihime.  Heck, even Guilty Crown Lost Christmas which serves as a prequel to anime and is like 3 hours worth, was better than Comyu and 11Eyes combined

I meant 11 (I have read comyu and found out for myself that it was bad lol). That is pretty damning, Tsukihime i really want to read, but I saw something about a remake with voices and thought it might be worth holding out for that. FSN is on my todo as is Muv-Luv + Alt and some others. Concerning tho as after about this much playtime i still thought comyu was going to be a good one 😂😂

Since it is related with the ending I will put it in spoiler:

Tbh I didnt enjoy comyu anything like as much as i thought i would (i even found kagome route dissapointing which was why i played the damn game). Its a shame, 11eyes is looking promising where I am (just at the point where the protagonist met the fighter dude). Well except protagonist being a total weak sauce, but im guessing that changes lol. Would u say it is good and worth a play if you ignore the romance/endings?

  8. So as there is quite a lot of romantic development with yuka (and yuka only where i am in the vn). Does it end up being some kind of harem? Or are the other 3 girls just a 10 minute romantic development and h-scene?

  9. 30 minutes ago, Fred the Barber said:

Most of the routes are practically identical. I would suggest saving Kukuri's route for last, and otherwise doing whatever order you feel like.

How do u mean they are practicall identical? (Without spoilers)

  10. Hey currently playing 11eyes, quite liking it. Does anyone know if it matters too much what order u go in? I am being impatient and want to do the best route first (Mizusu), but the walkthru recomeneds Yuka first. What do you guys think?

  11. Thing is, it doesnt seem like this is a listed bug, but lack of voice seems like a pretty critical bug in a VN lol

Ok, I think I fixed it myself. Went into character settings and a bunch of the voice volumes were way over 100%, so I set them to 100%, the voices seem to play now.

  12. Hey, getting issues with this game. The steam version crashes the moment I load a save.

I have just started the game but...

The voice acting seems to not be playing, e.g. In the initial flashback with the girl who kisses him on the forehead, her lines have no audio.

If I skip through to the scene with the read haired girl and the blonde I hear no voices either, all I notice is a slight reduction in BGM volume, what is going on =S

If I do the "Test Voice" button I hear the voice

    Any ideas?

  13. @littleshogun RE Root Double: Ok the game does sound interesting, but I am not a fan of duel protagonists so it may sit on the fence for a bit =/.

RE Dies Irae: Hmm,  this is a tad confusing, are you saying 18+ version is translated (and worse) by a different company?

    6 hours ago, littleshogun said:

I think the main story was pretty much identical except for H scenes for very obvious reason

If this is the case I will probably just finish the main story in the 18+ version. The key is that the main story for both versions is identical EXCEPT ofc h-scenes

  14. Ok so I started playing Dies Irae, it is looking promising!

I have a few questions mainly concerning Dies irae ~Amantes amentes~ HD ver, vs Dies irae ~Acta est Fabula~ HD ver

    I am following this walkthrough;

    https://gareblogs.wordpress.com/2017/06/01/dies-irae-amantes-amentes-english-walkthrough/

From the looks of it, this walkthrough is for the non-adult release. I am ofc playing the adult version.

Question 1. The walkthrough states that after pressing new game, you will get options for a heroine route (I did not get this in the adult version but I did in the non-adult version when running the exe files for the mangagamer release of the game). Whilst that does not bother me, the fact that this is not present in the adult version + the fact that some options from the walkthrough appear to be missing, make me wonder if some content is not present in the adult version (other than what I mention in question 2).

Question 2. I also notice the "Other Story" option in the non-adult version, are these not present on the adult version of the game either?

TLDR: Is there content missing in the adult version that is present in the non adult version. Most important part: Is the main story identical in both (minus the adult scenes ofc). I guess I can cheat saves in the non-adult version and watch the extras.

  15. Hey, cheers for the recommendations everyone. I think I will start with Dies Irae. A number of things to consider for the one after that though!

@Dreamysyu Muv-Luv I have actually had ready to play for a while, but the first one sounds a bit dull (the main thing stopping me)

@r0xm2n Grisaia indeed, heard it alot =). The fact I have watched the anime is kinda slowing me in doing that (but I did have a long discussion in another thread that convinced me to try it)

@Kurisu-Chan Well the anime is on my to watch list

@littleshogun I notice Root Double has multi protagonists, would you say there is still one main protagonist?

Well, comparing to other action-oriented titles I can think of, it's reasonably present. I don't think it's handled worse than, say, Fate/Stay Night, or Comyu since you mentioned it in the first post (but then again, I disliked most of Comyu's characters and character interaction).

100% agree with what you say here about Comyu. Yea, it cant really be worse than that on the romance or character interaction lol. Thanks for helping me put my finger on what I didnt like about the game. Character interactions felt superficial and forced throughout.

I actually liked those repeating lines with "red colour" and "so what"s, it just depends on the person.  I'd say just give it a try and see for yourself.

Most of the hate is on xx character, and enforced route or whatnot, which doesn't really matter until the latter half of the game.  Of course, you can always hijack a save file from someone if you're that desperate.

Being the oddball, I didn't really like Kagome as a character (come@me:wafuu:), her route is pretty thrilling regardless.  Hisoka's character and route left a pretty big impression on me.

Oh, and, Benio's cute.  Even though by the end, her dialogues gets more cringe every time it shows up:vinty:

I am not a hater, I really and genuinely had high expectations and high enthusiasm when I started playing the game, I thought the premise sounded awesome. I actually liked Hisoka also (altho I did like Kagome, partly because she was the only one romanceable with any breasts it is fair to say), and even thought the protagonist sounded and looked kinda cool. But I felt the plot was a complete clusterfuck, it was ok, if it was 100% trash I wouldnt have been able to finish it, but the whole game just felt confused. The "seeing the colour red" stuff is more a joke than a negative point for the game.

  17. Hey, thanks for the recommendation, I have heard of that VN, but it isnt quite what I am looking for currently (I will probably read it at some point)

  18. Hi

I just finished Comyu and I am looking for my next VN to start.

    I do have a few ideas in mind but I am looking for a recommendation of a solid VN;

    Note: English translated please!

    Here is a bit of info to narrow down your recommendations;

    1. Ideally' Plenty of characters throughout (alot of VNs you enter a girls route and basically have only protagonist and the girl for the next 5 hours gameplay = BORING)

    2. Somewhat adult without r$pe and weird shit (like Saya no Uta, and Kara no Shoujo). The adult part is not a requirement if the story is good (but still no r$pe please), Comyu for example just felt a bit childish to me, but with some ridiculous adult shock factor bits thrown in

    3. I quite like hidden identities, jealousy, love triangles (I am still waiting on White Album 2 translation =(, note: 2 females and protagonist only), protagonist with hidden power (in a supernatural VN) aka they arent completely overpowered but are strong.

I guess I am in the mood for some kind of hybrid of a nice SoL with love triangles and a bit of (melo)drama and something a bit more serious like Haru route in G-Senjou

Feel free to tell me the best option on my wishlist if it meets the criteria. But avoid any playing/finished etc

Please avoid any that are on my VNDB

  19. Finished Kagome route.

Honestly I only finished this game because Kagome was the last route and I was determined not to leave the next game I played unfinished.

The reality of this VN is, imo that it was not very good, I give it a 5/10 (I feel it is quite generously rated on VNDB)

Even the story of Kagome's route felt lacking and poorly executed, despite being better than the other routes. Plus the end didnt really conclude the story imo. I would also say a lot of the stuff to do with "The System" was really poorly explained and made little sense, I feel this may have been some lines lost in translation, but yea all the System stuff was a load of BS as far as I can tell.

    Also, SPOILER on Kagome route:

    Spoiler

Protagonist takes Kagome's virginity, next thing we know he is taking Yorukos also, dafuk? And then later we have Kagome determined to stop stampeding to be reunited with the man she loves...(little does she know he cheated on her the first chance he got lol). How sweet...Oh wait?

The premise of the game is good. The execution of the story very poor imo, the characters are alright, but suffer from the poor plot. It felt like it was written by 14 year olds (and this may be harsh to 14 year olds).

I pretty much have the same opinion on the Hisoka route. It also felt like the whole route came out of nowhere.

Sadly I didn't finnish this game. I had other things to do and droped it right at Kagomes route. It's annoying because I liked her the most but at this point I don't want to read the whole thing again :(

Haha, seems a bit crazy to do all that and then not do the route of the highlight girl -.-.

Either way, I am half way or so (I think?) through Kagome route, and, so far it is defiantly the most interesting, but it did get a bit messed up at one point SPOILER:

    Spoiler

Where three women had clearly been well lets just say murdered and quote from the game "They had certain fluids on them which suggested they had other acts commited to them" (very hard to know what they were right...) Dont like this shit... Yes it was offscreen, but still very unpleasant.

I dont see the need for this crap (felt like it was only there to make protagonist "see red" again) , up until this point the game had been a bit subtle and avoided directly describing any events of this nature (plus the hints of it previously didnt involve torture). I dont know why they suddenly decided to throw it in our face at this point.

Anyhow, I hope this is the last of this kind of crap. And will enjoy the rest of the route =/

  21. Just finished Hisoka route, and it was quite a bit more entertaining than any of the others. I would actually say it was good if the romance was done well. But the romance was done terribly, yet they decided to use the romance between the protagonist and Hisoka to drive the plot and try and invoke some feels, but it just felt a bit stupid. Ah well, onto Kagome and the end of the game (I hope Kagome's route is worth it)

  22. You are right about King in Benio's route, but either way, the way it ended was just ridiculous.

    Spoiler

The way he has Kagome on one arm and Benio on the other made it look like he was going to end up with his threesome in future.

Poor Benio wasnt really even allowed a proper route lol (she was a bit irritating with her justice bs to be fair, but the MC with his constant red crap is worse)

Mayuki's route is dumb as a story, but I guess it could be worse, it does feel like it is in there 100% for the loli idol loving Otaku's.

I guess I will get Mayuki and Ayaya over with then, Kagome is why I picked the game up, my favorite type of heroine lol. Why is Ayaya route a joke route, is it really short? Really crap? Or both of those? Hoping it is short if it is just a joke lol.

I hope Kagome and Hisoka are worth it -.-
