  1. I don't know the people on /r/visualnovels that well; I'm sure they're not terrible. But Fuwa is an absolute gem. It has just the right amount of activity and traffic and good-natured people who are here to enjoy one another. This is a really good place to call home if you just want calm happiness.
  2. From my limited knowledge (and this thread), I think you did just fine. There are obviously many people who do like the Reddit; communities almost always split in that way based on preferences. Fuwa has a different sort of crowd; and it serves a different function. The big problem happens when people who prefer something like 4chan or Reddit come to a place like Fuwa; they usually try to pull the decorum closer to what they prefer. They want access to new (and often softer/kinder) people, but they don't want to respect the etiquette here. Often their behavior comes across as mean/abrasive/trollish. It's probably fine for 4chan or Reddit, but it ends up being called out as bad behavior in this setting. It's not unique to a board like Fuwa; it happens everywhere, with almost every community. Thank you for the initial read; was extremely interesting! <3
  3. Happy birthday @EastCoastDrifter! I always love seeing your name (and posts) around the forums. So much love! <3
  4. Vote: Roll Again! (Any comment post without a designated vote counts as a Roll Again when we do the drawing) Wow, I can feel the love you have for her, @r0xm2n, in your huge list of awesome things about her. She's cute and funny, but unlucky. I wouldn't mind seeing her win (with extra fan service even). Who doesn't love fan service, and she's super cute and flirty! Thank you so much for sharing her. I loved it! Oh, so now I know the female version of you @Plk_Lesiak! It's such a beautiful series. I love the art so much! I like all the different kinds of characters and pairings. But there's always something super lovely about Yuri. There's this innocence in much of it that I find super adorable. Sadly, my experience with most real-life girls doesn't quite mirror what you find in anime and VNs; so I'm right there with you, living out my cutesy girl-girl love fantasies in the Yuri games! And the crying is completely reasonable. We can get so attached to some of these characters; in many ways they come alive through our emotions. *writes that down as a good future idea for a short, VN story* @wei123, you should totally go with your original pairing! If you want to post again with just their names and the reference art, that would be okay. Just put a "Vote: YourNewCouple" at the top of the one you already did. Oh, that's beautiful. That he was willing to sacrifice his ideals for her. They make such a cute couple. She seems a bit more soft, and he's holding her; so lovely. Thank you for sharing them with us! What a cute and fun character @Ranzo! I love that she was your first love! So much love. Completely love evil, vindictive characters. I think they are seriously underloved (or maybe they've just sacrificed all the people who once loved them). Thank you for sharing; she looks like she would be a fun character to draw. <3 Aww, what a great submission @NowItsAngeTime! First, on looks alone, she looks like she'd be really fun to draw! I love all that hair and the braids! And I like how much you know her and seem to enjoy her character (and her "just right" breasts). Thank you so much for participating!
  5. Reddit feels like it suffers from a lot of the same problems as 4chan. It seems like a hostile ennvironment, and I've never enjoyed it. I'm willing to engage people there, and I've met some pretty good people, but it's not a fun place for me to spend time. I'm also not that big on Discord servers once they get very large/active either. Fuwa is my favorite place on the internet right now.
  6. Hey guys. I have been swamped with work, so please pardon the lateness of this post. We want to do a contest on Fuwa, because we love it here. We already asked for feedback. --- The Prize One lucky VN character/couple (and their admirer) will win a piece of fan art by Ivy Fetish. You can check out her work in our OELVN thread. --- The Contest Tell us who your favorite VN character/couple is! Part #1. Describe why you love that character/couple; anywhere from 50-2000 words (and no, we're not counting). Part #2. Provide some reference images of that character/couple. Note: Your character/couple can be any gender or orientation! --- Rules 1. One entry per person. 2. Contest ends at 200 thread posts or on April 10th, 2018; whichever comes sooner 3. We will randomly pick a winner based on the post number. 4. Important! You can discuss yours/other's favorite characters/couples; doing so increases your chances of winning. Put "Vote: MyFavoriteCharacter/Couple" at the top of your replies, and if that post is selected when we do the drawing, then your vote will count for that character/couple. This means being active in the thread increases your chances of winning. 5. Ivy Fetish will get you your art by May 10th; you can use it anywhere you'd like as a signature, avatar, etc. Nothing commercial though, please. 6. We'll run this contest every few months for as long as people are interested; if you don't win the first time, then you'll get another chance for sure!
  7. So nice to meet you! I love your avatar pic and it's really cool to see people coming back to the site. Welcome and so much love! <3
  8. I am on the Discord, but it's so busy I can't keep up with the conversation *cries*
  9. Well, it's nice to meet you. I hope you read all the visual novels, and that you enjoy the forums too. You'll find me on the forums a lot more than on Discord. ;P
  10. Well, it's lovely to meet you since I don't know you very well. That was a cleverly spun (bun?) introduction. I don't want to ass-ume anything about you, but it seems you've been around for a while and this is the tail-end of your hiatus. Welcome back, butty!
  11. I need to hang out in the intro threads more often. It is so warm and cozy in here. @LunarianLight Maybe we'll start our own little animation studio together some day, and we'll laugh about how we met on Fuwa. <3
  12. Welcome, sweetie. Princess Mononoke is such a fun movie; it's one of my early loves. There was a time when I really wanted to be an animator, and I watched that movie so many time! This is my favorite VN community by far and I can't wait to get to know you. Please don't be shy. <3
  13. I would still check them out; but I'd be really sad. As an artist, I always hate it when you're not allowed to do something.
  14. I'm a storyteller first and foremost. I have a hard time with immersion when I watch/play anything. I'm always pulling at the threads in stories and paying attention to what the creators are trying to do. With that said... I prefer very intense stories, with very little downtime. I do like slow moments, but mostly so that you have a moment of rest that you can shatter with new action. In my limited experience with VNs, I find that a lot of them seem to have 30-40% of the story/action they need, and then they stretch it with filler content to reach their published state. I think the best (and most epic) stories start out with too much to tell. They have like 150%-200% of the content they need, and then they start cutting out details. Everything is meaningful and deliberate and artistic. There's so much depth. You can play through a story 3-4 times, and you keep discovering things about the characters and stories. But that's just my opinion. And even saying that, sometimes I do like slow and sweet titles, where I just want to sink into a bed of cuteness. I think if it's going to be slow, it has to be super flirtatious romance; but that's action too, when you think about it!
  15. This is simply the best place ever. We have to keep Fuwa a final bastion of hope and light in a sea of darkness! And happy birthday to my partner in crime @IvyFetish I'm making her all the delicious foods for her birthday; we do 3-day birthdays around here so there's no rush to enjoy the celebration. <3
  16. I think it's a really sharp pic; nice background; stylish shirt. Great pic, thanks for sharing. <3
  17. You came back and did a much better job of presenting yourself and your game. I understand the desire to put up all the info in all the places. You're very busy. It takes a lot of effort to make a game while also marketing it. You're going to get a lot of engagement on Fuwa. This is a really organic community, filled with a lot more VN readers instead of VN makers. If you need to ignore 7 other places to do Fuwa right, then it's a good idea to do that. I hope you have a great time here and I can't wait to see more about your game.
  18. I am actually trying to avoid something really tedious right now, and this entire thread was such a pleasure to read through. I like voice acting quite a bit; even really bad voice acting can be kind of fun sometimes. It's rare that games/movies are ever able to get me super immersed anyway.
  19. We're pushing a big update and I'm extremely busy for just a couple more days; barely have time to even look at anything but work. I will post this very soon; hopefully Wed, March 8th, at the latest.
  20. This looks fantastic. I've only skimmed it and I plan to come back and spend a good hour checking this out. So excited for this!
  21. I have been so swamped finishing up some work stuff. I saw this several days ago and I've been meaning to catch up with you. Since you are so sweet and so kind, I will say you should drop everything else and make sure to focus on these good people here on Fuwa. I visit almost every corner of the internet, and this is the first place I come when I do my networking each day. I pretty much never want to leave Fuwa (even though I always have to). It is so nice to meet you, and if you ever want to share notes, or connect, or need an ally in anything, definitely don't be shy. I will totally respond to your other comments and do an in-depth look at your game in the next week or so. Wanted you to know how much I'm excited to meet you and that I am putting off looking at your game because I want to spend a lot of time doing it right! <3
  22. I've got the candles right here...oops, wrong thread. How embarrassing!
  23. In super crunch time, but I plan to come back and fully digest this soon!
  24. A lot of developers don't really see the value of getting involved in a community. A lot of them don't do much in the way of marketing, even. It takes a few games--if you last that long--before you realize that it's a privilege to be able to create and have people give you their attention. People respond well to mutual respect and grace. Poor thing really did mess up here. Not only did they get a lot of negative attention, but they also missed out on one of the great VN communities available to them.
