  1. Yay! I hope it will actually get released this year
  2. Actually, I was (and still am) hoping that you could become an editor for this, once I finish current work (meaning re-TL and filling the gaps). That's okay. I also wasn't entirely satisfied with those smoothed images look, so it wasn't big problem to let them go, but if there's someone who likes them, I see no harm in including them as well as an option
  3. Yeah, I guess it would be possible. Main downside is that smoothed images take up to about 10x more space than the original 16 color ones, so it would increase the filesize of the whole package significantly. (Not ten times, since music also takes up significant space, so it would be more like a double - going from ~200MB to ~400MB) But it can be done - luckily I haven't deleted those smoothed versions yet
  4. The last update was really some time ago... Well, the project isn't dead, but going at rather slow pace. However right now I don't have much confidence if I should really be doing it... Nevertheless, today I had some time, and I made some progress. As for now, today I finished 7th chapter and started 8th. That makes it ~44%.
  5. I'm like that with Ai Kawashima. She is by no means a great singer (on early records and concerts she is often out of tune), but for some reasons I get really emotionally moved by many of her songs. But she has not only sad ballads Her more uplifting songs also feel genuine to me, and manage to bring smile upon my face.
  6. Release delayed - new date: 2019-12-20.
  7. Looks like the price isn't known yet. We'll know in a few hours. Yeah, I think so too. Unless they retranslated it or sth.
  8. Asenheim's site is unofficial, their releases are in the grey area (since most of the games are obviously abandonware). The only fully legal Asenheim's remakes are those available officially from JAST's site. So I guess after this new official rerelease they might be made to take down True Love from their site (or not, since probably nobody cares anyway).
  9. Last Saturday I finished Kanako's route from Cruise Sign/Flight Diary. It was great, I think I liked it the most from the three new routes (Akari, Hotaru and Kanako). It was the most romance-focused one, but also had some nice comedy. I didn't expect too much from this route, but got very nice surprise. And I guess this route is the source of +17 rating for Cruise Sign It has lots of ichaicha when they finally get together - some intensive kissing scenes, and quite bold bath CG - without towels, would you believe it? Just some steam, water and carefully chosen camera angle to hide what should remain hidden. Original routes and the other two new routes (Akari and Hotaru) look pretty tame by comparison. Again, Steam version is identical to the Cruise Sign one (including the bath CG ), and also I feel like it has the best translation from the three FD routes I've read so far. Now I have before- and after- stories left to read.
  10. No, I have some fond memories of it too. I wonder if they fixed the translation... But I'm a bit afraid it's just low-cost port.
  11. I suppose the costs of it were close to none (maybe they are using Asenheims remake as a basis for this?), so maybe they don't worry too much? But yeah, it feels totally random. I guess they always can get few $$ thanks to nostalgia. I'm going to buy it just to have "legit" version after all those years.
  12. Yeah, it's VN mixed with a big amount of dating-sim, with some annoying RNG mechanics that make getting some heroine events pretty tiresome. But it's quite short, and some of the heroines are IMO very nice, so still worth giving it a go. (if the price won't be absurdly high) I think Mikae from this game is partially responsible for my soft spot for osananajimi heroines, since it was first VN I played back when I was 16 or 17 and didn't even know what VN was With walkthrough, or another one (and a good bit of saving and reloading because of damned RNG) it is possible to "get" all (but one) heroines in single playthrough. The only mutually exclusive two are Mikae and Remi, so you need another save at branching point between those two.
  13. So at least they are safe from Steam's anti-loli banhammer
  14. Okay, so I encountered that scene just now. In Japanese version it is like this: She says:「亜紗ちゃんの学年だと、 学生結婚を果たしたことになってるらしいわよ」, which would roughly translate as "[Asa's classmates think/say that] we already got married as a students" (学生結婚 means "student marriage"). So while this version doesn't mention age explicitly, translated version isn't that much off. But of course it clashes with the disclaimer we're discussing in this thread
  15. Whoa, that came out of the left field. https://store.steampowered.com/app/1094640/True_Love_95/ It looks like FAKKU is going to release +18 version of True Love ~Jun'ai Monogatari~ on Steam. (Since game is marked as +18 on Steam, you can't acces store page without logging in and having adult content enabled in your settings).
  16. (Should post it in this thread, not the one about ages of characters...) Yesterday I finished Hotaru's route (Cruise Sign and Steam versions). OMG, so much cuteness And nice character development for Hotaru. Sweet little route, and sweet little Hotaru As with previous routes, Steam version is identical to Cruise Sign version, no additional censorship. Translation is similar to Akari's route - not great, not terrible So now, onto the Kanako's route.
  17. I'm going to play JP all-ages version of Kanako's route next (probably tomorrow), so will pay attention to what does she say there (Is this screen from Kanako's route or some other? So far I finished Akari's and Hotaru's, and haven't encountered this scene) And yesterday I finished Hotaru's route. OMG, so much cuteness And nice character development for Hotaru. Sweet little route, and sweet little Hotaru Again, Steam version is identical to Cruise Sign version, no additional censorship. Translation is similar to Akari's route - not great, not terrible So now, onto the Kanako's route. Oops, I forgot we aren't in the "What are you playing" thread...
  18. Looks like nice little game. Thanks for mentioning, adding it to the backlog
  19. So maybe it was different in the '90s? (SnK was released in 1996... If memory serves, YU-NO also didn't have such disclaimer)
  20. I was actually surprised when I saw that disclaimer in untranslated VN for the first time. I always assumed it was just for localization purposes, because of US law. (Like, in Sakura no Kisetsu, characters are in the middle/high school, and it's explicitly stated, along with protag being 16, first year high-schooler, but in translated version it is all rewritten so they are over 18)
  21. I just finished Akari's route from Flight Diary. Pretty nice, on par with the rest of the VN quality-wise. Akari has really cute side to her First I've read original PS3 version, then, to compare, translated Steam version. I'm happy to report, that they're the same, there is no additional censorship in Steam version, despite some rumors. Actually after reading the original version, I couldn't imagine anything that could possibly be removed, as it's totally wholesome and all-ages friendly Turns out I was right I was really worried about TL after reading @phantomJS's comment in the thread about Steam edition. I don't know if they patched it, or whatever, but it wasn't bad at all. First of all, this time it definitely was edited, and it's visible that somebody put some conscious effort into it, and had some stylistic vision. While there are few slightly mistranslated lines, and some questionable translation choices*, it's mostly coherent, comprehensible, and actually reads quite smoothly. Nowhere near the mess the main game's translation was. It leans towards the "liberal" side of the spectrum, but doesn't go into "overwesternization" territory - it's just that some lines are reworded to convey the meaning in a bit more natural way than strictly literal TL would. Personally, I'm fine with that. One line was translated in quite amusing, and, dare I say, ecchi way (Who would expect that from MoeNovel release?) I also have to applaud the TL team for clever way of rewriting the scene, when Akari switches to calling Aoi by his first name. Since the TL ditches honorifics, and all characters are on first name basis most of the time in translated version, I was really curious, how they solve it (especially since they screwed up that very thing in the ASFOS). It went surprisingly smooth. All in all, if somebody wants to read Akari's route, and doesn't know Japanese, Steam version is safe way to go. It's certainly readable, and no content cut compared to original. *I just wish they left nicknames "Anchan" and "Mabou" / "Makun" intact, since I got used to them. As for Anchan, it was replaced by his first name (Tatsuya), and as for Masatsugu, TL or editor decided to give him "Masa" nickname, and it's used whenever there was "Mabou" or "Makun" in the original - unnecessary, if you ask me. On the other hand, changing "Hat" (ハット in original) into "Hatty" actually works well.
  22. <confession time> I usually used walkthroughs even when playing traditional adventure games....
  23. I'm the same. I use walkthroughs all the time.
  24. I'd just like to correct one thing Originally (I mean in PS3 version, Cruise Sign) Akari's route is also part of the Flight Diary, not the main game. I guess it's there as a replacement for the Himegi Sisters threesome route from the +18 Flight Diary, as perhaps it would be difficult to convert that into all-ages version What's even more interesting, like I stated in "What are you playing?" thread, main routes in Cruise Sign are line-for-line, scene-for-scene identical with IMHHW. But of course all that doesn't mean anything if translation is shit...
  25. Whoa, I think it's the first time I see such poor rating for Damekoi I still haven't tried it, wonder how will it turn for me when I finally get to it. As for my current read - this weekend I finished all-ages version of Amane's route in Konosora Cruise Sign. It was really nice, and I might actually prefer it over ero version of this route. It didn't feel censored, rewritten story felt pretty natural to me, and it didn't bother me at all that they haven't fucked yet And still every time Amane glomps Aoi or lap-pillow scenes make my heart go きゅうーーん I also compared it with English version (IMHHW), and again, as with previous two routes, it's identical content-wise. Translation of Amane's route isn't as disastrous as Ageha's, but there still is fair amount of lines with mismatched subjects - like they were translated out of context. Now I'm reading Kazato twins' route (Asa & Yoru).
