Fred, being an editor, has really high standards. I also didn't find anything bothering about LB! localization. It was smooth read for me, without anything standing out and throwing me off.

MILF But who doesnt have massive ta-ta's
adamstan replied to mitchhamilton's topic in Recommendations
Then Masumi should be fine - she is 30, and is kind-of mother figure in the story actually. (It hit me that I'm getting old when the heroine who is supposed to be "older woman" is younger than me ) Big sister is Ayame. Kaori is school nurse, and she is few years older than Ayame. -

By "MILF" are you refering strictly to "mother" characters, or are generally speaking about adult heroines? If the latter, then - from the ones that I read - there's Masumi from Kazoku Keikaku and Kaori from Crescendo. -
Yeah, "oldness" itself never was a problem for me - after all I really enjoyed Sakura no Kisetsu and other old VNs from the beginning of century And I'm already used to the art. Actually, based on vndb screenshots alone, I like the look of Kanon more. But definitely going to read them both. Was it really that horrible? Well, at least you get untranslated version in the same package, and can switch on the fly
-
You are probably right about there being almost no chances for official localization. Well, then the fan-TLs will have to do
-
Forgive for slight digression, but do you think Air or Kanon will ever get an official EN release? Or are they too old and it's too late for this? I haven't read them, turned off by character sprites on vndb screenshots, but after reading LB!, and now Clannad I think I'm slowly getting used to that style Also, sometimes things look better in-game than on screens - that was my experience with Crescendo.

In this case, that's because I'm currently watching "Oh! My Goddess" anime, so I recognized that voice instantly, especially since she even speaks in similar manner. Speaking of famous VAs in Clannad, there's also Megumi Ogata in Misae's ending (not listed on VNDB). Earlier I had this experience with two Pulltop VNs - Hikari from Miagete has same voice as Ageha from Konosora (and they both are redheads ).

Continuing with Clannad, I'm currently going for Mei's route. Then suddenly I hear familiar voice... No way, can't be, let's check... YUP!

Maitetsu VN Discussion (Released at June 29th)
adamstan replied to littleshogun's topic in Visual Novel Talk
I changed my stance on swearing in translations after learning a little bit more. The eye-opener for me was one episode of "Japanese Ammo with Misa". She explained, that there are basically almost no swear-words in Japanese, so when people want to sound rude, they use rude verb forms and pronouns like てめえ etc. Now, in English there is no such thing as "rude verb form" - so to carry over that rude, offending sound, the best one can do is to add some swearing indeed - as that's the english-language way of being rude. When she translated some example rude conjugations to EN in her video, she did just that - making it like "f***n-<verb>". Similarily, take てめえ - while literal translation of the word is "you", it doesn't convey the rude character of the word at all. And you certainly don't want to put something like "You (rude, vulgar)!" in translation So, てめえ would rather be translated as "You F***n POS!" or something like that - and while one could complain "Why they added words that weren't in the original?!" - that's correct. -

So, is it safe to assume that Steam version is just PC port of that "Pure Station" console release, and should be not as messed up? -
AX - Anime Expo 2018 News & Announcements
adamstan replied to Formlose Gestalt's topic in Visual Novel Talk
Actually according to vndb it's "Kimi to Kanojo to Kanojo no Koi. ". See the pattern? -
We'll see I'm starting Tomoyo's route today.
-
THIS. And hurry before Steam Sale ends - regular price is rather on the high side.
-
Just started Clannad yesterday, and finished Misae's route. I think it's one of the shorter routes, but the whole VN looks really promising. Music is absolutely beautiful, and damn, those onion-cutting ninjas already manifested themselves even in that short first route. I'm really looking forward to the rest of it.

Yesterday I finished Tsujidou-san no Jun'ai Road. 楽しかったです Comedy was great in this - I laughed often and loudly . As for heroines - if you hate tsunderes, don't touch this game Of course most tsundere-ish is Renna, but Ai and Maki are too to some extent. Nevertheless, they're quite likeable If I had to rank routes/endings, it would probably be Ai's True End > Maki = Ai's Normal End > Renna = Saeko - but they're close. Azusa is also listed as side heroine in walkthrough, but her ending is more like another bad ending for Renna's route - she doesn't have any scenes/CGs or epilogue. Similarly to Majikoi - if the choice is meaningless, it's worth to explore all options to read all funny bits. Game's system makes it easy with "skip to previous/next choice" buttons. Art, music and voices are great. Also translation is pretty smooth - there were some typos / bad words here and there, but nothing major. Overally I like Tsurezure Scans' writing style - I liked their work in Hatsukoi 1/1 too. I had great fun with it - 8/10.

A heroine like Kawakami Momoyo from Majikoi
adamstan replied to MikadoRei's topic in Recommendations
Yeah, Maki is probably the closest you can get, but I think that she is actually more similar to Tatsuko. Or rather, Momoyo has been split into two characters in Tsujidou - Maki got strength and boobs while the "possesive big sister" part went to Saeko. -

Yeah, that and give me my SU45 waifu (seriously, for me it's the most beautiful loco ever, don't know why) I'm going with all-ages version for this VN - reasons similar to Poltroon's. -
#1 and #16 from me
-
Unforgivable \o/
-
OTOH I remember @Decay saying in one of the threads, that those changes for all-ages version aren't as big as some posters make them to be, and that those laments about ruining the game are vastly exaggerated. I went with this version, as from reading various reviews and forum posts I was afraid, that some of the +18 content may be too dark/f*d up for me (I prefer my H to be on the vanilla side). That "patch" is basically complete pirated +18 version (as two releases are completely incompatible/different, with all-ages version being port from PSP using different engine AFAIK) - that's why it was shot down.
-
I haven't read it yet, however yesterday I bought steam version. It's worth noting that currently both are same price - Denpasoft has $16 price to match summer sale price of all-ages version on Steam.
-
Ah, Steam sale around the corner, right. Time to grab that Clannad at last (and others). Yesterday I finished Ai's route in Tsujidou-san no Jun'ai Road (all endings). It was really good.

The limited edition of princess evangile
adamstan replied to bakauchuujin's topic in Recommendations
Physical edition would be overkill for me, but +1 for game recommendation itself. THIS. I really liked this VN - it had almost perfect mix of cuteness/ichaicha and drama for me. -
Download VLC player - it plays MKV files just fine.
