I'd like to add to these comments that if you're actually living for the sake of living, then I'm sure it doesnt feel as empty as you imagine it would while sitting at your computer in comfort. It's a perspective issue. And Okami, if you read more of my posts, you will realize that I was making a joke with the 'we should all go live in the woods' but that my stance is a little more complex than my joking response to you was. I dont know why Kaguya didnt move my other one in here.

Well, in a certain sense you're taking me too seriously and in another sense I think you're not taking it seriously enough. I doubt I'm going to get anything more than hate for this, but I think that for the most part we'd be fine without it. I mean not *us*, but humanity in general. A humanity that didnt know the allures of technology wouldnt mind life without it. it's just a matter of expectations. You expect a certain lifestyle and would be sad to have that expectation unfulfilled. However, without the expectation, I think you could be quite happy with 'living like an animal' (again, I dont understand why that's such a horrible thing). When I see a blind person or a deaf person, I dont see people who live tragic lives. There are studies that suggest that people have some innate level of happiness towards which they will tend over long periods of time. Going blind will make you unhappy, but I doubt you'll think about how horrible it is twenty years after the fact. As for the topic of modern medicine... yea it's true that without technology more people would die. But dead people arent sad, it's the living that are sad for them. People will always find ways to deal with death. Humanity will survive. (actually as a species, we're in more trouble now than we were a thousand years ago). But that's not to say I dont enjoy the technology and think we should actually all go live in the woods. We're too far to turn back so sharply, and I have no shred of belief that anything of the sort would ever happen without something tragic and devastating happening.

What's worthless about being animals? I personally think that humans are 'engineered' to be happy just being alive. It's not like the advent of computer technology meant humans got a huge amount happier. Actually we're not really any more happy on average than any other era, I'd guess (counting stress and lower sleep averages, etc)

The mixture of effort and not effort is pretty interesting on that one xD What if this was intended for another purpose? Maybe bl3u is trying to make a point about the current state of affairs with his post. In putting or the effort to create not one or two, but three different banners, he shows that he obviously has some interest in the matter. But then why the lack of an explanation when one would be so simple? Perhaps it is a form of protest. A statement he is making, fighting the absolute need to imbue everything with meaning. Maybe bl3u thinks we need to stop, smile a little, and simply enjoy a beautiful banner, instead of waging war over changes on Fuwanovel. Maybe in a deeper sense, this is the change bl3u wants to see. (this wasnt meant seriously, I just laughed when I thought about it xD. I obviously dont speak for bl3u 0.0)

To be honest, I think that the changes Ren suggested would help you generally appeal to people. But I value the bluntness and the honesty, so I have to say I like it. When I see a novel project that wants a thousand dollars, I fully expect a large amount to go to the writer, to make it a more feasible task. While I do think that the explanation you wrote in this thread is much better in terms of nicely explaining things, I don't support the obfuscation of information in order to make your project seem like anything other than what it is. I approve of your choices in general as far as your straightforwardness goes. (And to be honest, I'm expecting a lot of it to go to living or 'salary' costs, so it makes you seem very legitimate when you don't try to hide the facts) The one thing I wasnt too sold on was the part about your writing. I think you could make it clearer that you're actually quite proficient with the language. It wasn't too unclear, but you definitely undersell your skills in that regard I downloaded the Prologue and haven't read it yet, but I'm excited to! hehe

I thought it was the archon toilet, I didnt follow sc2 very closely in WoL. Basically it made protoss endgame too strong, right? Or was it that it promoted ultra long games because people wouldnt take engagements vs toss unless they were perfectly set up?

Oh that is true! I'm not interested in the archon toilet necessarily, I just think the teleport and the vortex were really fun and dynamic moves. I can understand why they took them away from a strategy standpoint, it's just a bit sad
