What is the point of having rules if they're enforced randomly? If those rules aren't the rules, why are they there? If they are, under what rule are they closing this thread? I am all for following the rules. What I dislike, however, is when they don't follow their own rules, and do basically whatever they want whenever they want. There is no point in rules if you can be punished for following them.

What reasoning might that be? The entire point is that there seems to be no reasoning, at least none that fit their own posted rules.

It won't be, because then they'll lock that and we will have no way to get updates, and they know it. They're holding our desire for a patch essentially hostage to get this thread to die.

Essentially, the mods seem upset this thread won't die on it's own because people enjoy talking to each other, and rather than just leave it alone since it's not harming anyone, they're going to close it, essentially killing the community it built for seemingly no rational reason. So now if we want to talk, we're going to either have to find a forum with better mods, or use a chat setting which quite frankly sucks.

I have read that, and I've also been reading the chat in which they point out chantango isn't an ideal solution. Perhaps before telling someone what they should read, you should make sure you've read everything first?

If we have to, we could probably set up a free VB board somewhere, though it'd be horribly ugly.

This... isn't how forums work, at least not any run well. Text-based data is tiny. I've seen threads on several forums in excess of 4000+ pages and 80k+ replies, and no one has ever suggested shutting them down. While they may be distracting to the rest of the forum, space is only a concern if you are pinching for every single megabyte, at which point you should probably considering purchasing more space. So I'm going to go ahead and say space isn't an issue, and the issue is this is the wrong section, as you say. That's not really our problem, the mods are the ones who put it here instead of somewhere else. As such, it seems to me they're killing something that has become a community in it's own right just because. I'll miss this thread, even if I mostly just read the bromance between you and Ouraibaa.

Don't see why this thread is being closed. The mods threw it here and justified it by saying we'd still be allowed to use it, we just couldn't have it in the TL forum. So we accepted the move and lived with it. Now they're saying we can't even have that? Really?

One of these days, one of those is going to cause someone to have a seizure and die, and then posting them will be banned everywhere.

Perhaps an unpopular opinion, but if dowolf is going to be running through miyako and checking it anyway, perhaps waiting to release a patch until the entire TL is finished would be better? Would cause less confusion upon release over which one to download.
