Yeah, I was going to refer him to the hex-fixed exe if he's running WIndows 8. Also, just to be on the safe side, have you changed your locale to Japanese? You mentioned that you changed your input method, which isn't the same thing. Check this guide out if you haven't already.

What OS are you running on?

If you're seeding the torrent, stop seeding it before you run the game. Also, right click the folder the game is and look at the properties. "Read-only" should be checked under "Attributes". Uncheck it and the game should run. P.S. I just realized it but this thread shouldn't be in the Fan Translation Discussion sub-forum. Next time try posting in the Voluntary Tech Support sub-forum.

Well, that mainly depends on what genre you're looking for. If you're new to LNs, maybe you can start with one that has an anime adaptation...? Though I personally feel that you can start with any novel you like. You can check out my thread (link in my sig) if you want my recommendations.

Guess I shall start on Hunter x Hunter tonight. Never thought I'd say this, ever. Was never a big fan of long running shounen (Naruto, Bleach, One Piece, Fairy Tail, etc.) because to be frank, they felt really stupid to me. But after hearing all the people going "It's not your typical shounen!", I guess I shall give it a shot. Really hoping that I will enjoy this series.

In Quartett, you're only allowed to click at certain points in a conversation, which is why the problem exists. That's kinda sad to hear, I'm actually having high expectations for it

So, I just picked up Quartett and I'm really loving the way it's presented to us. The manga-esque style is really vibrant and adds more life to it than any other visual novels I have read. A minute in and I already love this VN. ....However, there's one problem that has been bothering me from the start. I hate how the next speech bubble comes up before the character finishes speaking.... and just cuts his/her voice right off. Heck, for the most part, they cut themselves off! The settings doesn't help and it gets very annoying really fast. I doubt it's a major problem if I'm just reading a regular VN, since I usually click before waiting for the character to finish speaking anyway. But Quartett isn't a regular VN, so it feels really out of place to me when they cut the characters' voices off mid-sentence. Am I the only one who's facing this problem? .....or am I the only one reading this......
